The Last Dance

3RD PERSON POV:

Klaus has took over Alaric's body. His witch, Maddox, took Katherine yesterday and he keeping her in Alaric's apartment; he cast a spell so Katherine isn't able to leave the apartment.

"Ugh, who is this guy, Safari Sam?" Klaus sighs in disgust as he looks through Alaric's clothing, he turns to face Katherine holding up two different shirts, "Okay, bad, or badder?"

"The dark colours suit you better." Katherine says.

Klaus smiles over to Katherine, "Oh, thank you, honey. Okay, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?"

Katherine nods, "The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house."

"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is." Klaus says as he puts on his shirt, "The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Oh, that guy is a buzzkill. What has Lola told them?"

Katherine shrugs and looks away from him, "Not much, she spoke briefly about you both, said you were the love of her life and that she left you in '58."

Klaus tries to hide his smile after that comment, "Hm, well nice to know she still classes me as that."

Katherine looks back over to Klaus, "Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna."

Klaus nods, "Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?"

"That's it." Katherine mumbles.

Klaus walks over to Katherine and caresses her face, she jumps at his touch. Klaus laughs slightly, "Oh, so jumpy."

"Please, just...kill me." Katherine pleads, "I've told you everything that I know."

Klaus puts his hands on the armrests on Katherine's chair and crouches down to be face to face with her, "You see, I believe that you believe that, but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me." Klaus compels.

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger." Katherine answers.

"Bonnie the best friend?" Klaus looks at Katherine confused, "I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore."

"She doesn't or didn't. I don't know." Katherine sighs, "You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop."

Klaus smirks over to Katherine, "Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that."

"Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it." Katherine pleads.

Klaus glares over to Katherine, he leans down to be face to face again, "And show you kindness? I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long." He stands up straight and grabs a pocketknife from his pocket, he unfolds it and holds it before Katherine, "I want you to take this knife...And stab yourself."

Katherine reluctantly takes the blade and stabs herself in the thigh, she groans out in pain.

"Now take it out." Klaus orders.

Katherine groans in pain again as she pulls the blade out of her thigh with the wound healing instantly as she wipes the blood away.

"Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs." Klaus compels.

"Where are you going?" Katherine asks.

"I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelgänger, and of course the gorgeous Lola; lets hope there aren't any forks near her this time." He crouches down and kisses Katherine on the forehead, when he pulls away he smirks down at Katherine, "Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning." Klaus walks away to leave the apartment, "Again."

Klaus leaves the apartment and Katherine stabs herself in the thigh again, gasping in pain.

LOLA POV:

I got next to no sleep last night, I have literally been tossing and turning all night worrying about what Klaus is planning to do. I get out of bed and walk over to my bathroom and look into the mirror, I look like actual death. I take a cold shower to wake myself up some more, once out I get dressed in some blue jeans, a black off the shoulder top and some black heels.

I stand in front of the mirror in the bathroom as I apply some make up on, I'm just about to tie my hair up into a pony tail when my door knocks, I look out of my bathroom with my hair still in my hands yelling whoever it is to come in.

"It's me, it's Elena." I hear her nervously say as she walks into my room. Okay, here is my chance to play nice, I've got this.

I put on my best smile and walk out of the bathroom as I tie my hair up, "Hey."

Elena hands me a mug of coffee smiling, this is a good start, "Coffee with a splash of vervain."

I smile back at her and grab the mug, "Thank you." This is so awkward, how does one be nice to someone?

Elena awkwardly nods and begins to walk out of the bedroom. I cringe at myself at what I'm about to do, "Elena."

Elena turns to face me and smiles again, "Yeah?"

I frown my brows trying to find the right words to say, "Look, I'm not good at this whole talk thing." I pause for a second, "I just wanted to apologise...for how I've been with you since I got here. I can be really stand-offish when I first meet people, I've been like this my whole life."

Elena shakes her head and smiles, "You don't have to apologise, I get it."

I look over to her confused, "You do?"

Elena takes a few steps forward to me and shrugs, "Yeah, I mean it obviously isn't ideal seeing Stefan with me, Katherine's doppelgänger; I understand it must be bringing up some not so great memories."

I scoff as I sit down on my bed, "You have no idea."

Elena sighs as she sits besides me, "You have to believe me when I say I love Stefan so much, I'd never do anything to hurt him."

I know she wouldn't intentionally hurt him but she clearly hasn't realised how much Damon also cares for her. This is how it all started in 1864 and not long after both of my brothers were pitted against each other.

I smile over to her, "I know you do. Look...let's just start fresh, yeah?"

Elena smiles back and nods.

I stand up as I take a sip of the coffee, putting my hand over my mouth to keep the vervain coffee down.

"I've never noticed your tattoo before." Elena says as she stands up and looks over to me.

I turn to face her, "Oh yeah, I got it a long time ago." I got it in the 50s to be precise, the same day Klaus got his tattoo on his chest. I got 4 little doves on my left shoulder blade, the same birds that are flying out of the feather Klaus has on the left side of his chest.

"It's really pretty." Elena says.

I don't say anything back, I take another gulp of my coffee.

"How are you feeling about Klaus coming here?" Elena asks nervously.

I shrug my shoulders as I awkwardly laugh, "Uh, well there's a million things going round my head about it all." I look at Elena who has worry all over her face, "But don't worry, Klaus isn't going to come anywhere near you. He'll have to get through me first."

Elena smiles and pulls me in for a hug....okay not what I was expecting, this has made it even more awkward. I mean how long do people hug for? Suddenly the doorbell rings, oh thank god for that.

"That must be the lawyer guy." I say pulling out of the hug and walking out of the bedroom.

Stefan, Damon and I are all outside of the house while Elena signs the deeds to the house. At least now that I've been nice to her I know I'll be invited into my own home, thank god.

My mind drifts off elsewhere. I can't help but worry about the fact that maybe Bonnie isn't going to be able to take on Klaus. I mean he's an original and originals are really hard to kill. I just don't understand how Bonnie is going to be able to kill him.

Damon pulls me out of my daze as he places a hand on my shoulder, "You okay?"

I look up at him, I smile and nod, "Yeah, just thinking."

"Care to enlighten us about your thoughts?" Damon asks jokingly.

I sigh as I look between both my brothers, "You really think Bonnie can take on Klaus?"

Stefan shrugs, "She said she could channel enough witch's power to kill him. Elijah thought that would work and he was an Original, so..."

Damon nods, "We just need to find him."

Stefan sighs, "Yeah."

"Could she do one of those witch tracking spells?" Damon suggests.

Stefan shakes his head, "Nope. Not without something that belongs to Klaus. Believe me, I already asked."

They both look over to me with questionable looks, I frown in confusion at them both; I know exactly what they're thinking, "No, I know what you're thinking. I don't have anything that belongs to Klaus."

They both stay silent, Damon sits on the wall besides me, "Do you think he killed her?" He asks as he looks over to Stefan.

"Katherine?" Stefan shrugs, "Probably."

I scoff as I shake my head, "No he hasn't, it's not his style."

Damon scoffs, "It's not like she didn't have it coming."

The front door opens, Elena is letting the lawyer out, "Thank you, Mr. Henry."

All three of us walk to the threshold but we're all stuck outside. Elena turns to face us and laughs awkwardly, "I'm sorry. I completely forgot. Stefan, Lola. Would you both like to come inside my house?"

Stefan smiles over to his girlfriend, "I would love to." He steps inside the house.

I smugly smile over to Damon and then smile at Elena, "Thank you, Elena." I step inside the house and smirk over to Damon who is still stuck.

"What are we, twelve?" Damon asks sarcastically.

"One of us is." Elena retorts, "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?"

Damon scoffs, "No."

Elena glares at Damon, "Seriously, Damon. My way. You promised. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?"

Damon sighs, "Yes, Elena. Sure."

"Then please, come in." Elena says as she gestures for him to enter.

Damon walks in and notices me laughing, he lightly nudges past me, "Shut up." He mumbles and then walks towards the drinks table.

Bonnie walks in from another room and gives Elena her jacket, "Thanks."

Stefan looks at them both confused, "Wait, where are you going?"

"To school." Elena bluntly replies.

"No, no, no. We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it." Damon snaps.

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there." Stefan says, "We know that."

Elena shrugs, "Right. But where? No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here, but I'm not going to be a prisoner."

She looks over to me as if for approval for what she said, I put my hands up in the air and smile over to her, "I'm not stopping you."

Elena nods at my response and then looks over to Damon for his answer.

Damon rolls his eyes, "Your way, Elena."

"Don't worry, I'm ready." Bonnie says, "If he shows his face, I can take him. I know how."

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that I can be." Elena says as she puts her arm around Bonnie, "Come on."

They both walk out the house and head to school, Stefan looks over at Damon & I and I gesture him to go with them.

Stefan sighs, "Wait, um, I'm coming." He leaves with them.

Once Stefan has closed the door behind him, I face Damon, "So what we going to do while the kids are at school?"

"Well for one, you aren't going to be leaving this house." Damon says as he walks back to the drinks table.

Is he actually being serious right now? He's going to let a human go out into the world when Klaus is somewhere and not let me, a vampire? I scoff, "You have got to be kidding me!"

Damon slams his drink on to the table, "No, I'm not kidding Lola." He turns to face me with his serious look, I only get this look when I'm in trouble, "I am not letting you out of my sight today."

"What so Elena can leave but I can't? How does that make sense?!" I say as my voice starts to get louder with anger.

Damon sighs and walks over to me, he puts his hands on my arms, "You're my little sister, it's my job to protect you. Just give your big bro a little peace of mind and just stay here until we know more about what Klaus is planning."

I glare up at him not saying a word. Then he flashes those stupid puppy dog eyes, he knows how much I hate it when people use them on me, I pull out of his hold and scoff, "Ugh, fine!" I turn on my heel and storm upstairs, if Damon wants to treat me like a child, then I'll act like a child.

----------------------------------------------

It's been a few hours now since I've became a prisoner in my own house. I was playing music obnoxiously loud as I always do when Damon pisses me off but he stormed into my room and took my speakers, asshole.

You know what, no, I'm not staying here any longer. Damon hasn't got Bonnie to do a spell to keep me here or anything so I can easily leave, screw him trying to act like a big brother; I can take care of myself.

Just when I'm about to open the balcony doors and make my little escape, my phone rings; it's Elena. Okay Lola, you've got this, be nice.

"Hey Elena." I say as perky as I can.

Elena sighs down the line, "Lola, are you okay? Are you still at the boarding house?"

Why does she sound so concerned about me? "Yes I am, although you aren't a prisoner, Damon has made me one. What's wrong?"

"Klaus is here."

My heart skips a beat, "What?! Elena, what happened? Did you see him?"

"No, no I never seen him. A girl from my class, Dana, she came up to me and said that a guy called Klaus was asking if I was going to the dance tonight and said he wants me to save him a dance." Elena says down the phone barely pausing for breath.

I can hear the panic in her voice, "Ugh, that guy is such a egotistical pig. Where are you now?"

"We're on our way back to the house. You need to come to the dance tonight."

Ugh, school dances, really? This is what I have to do to be a nice person? Ugh. "What's the dance?"

"It's the sixties."

Hm, not so bad, I quite liked the sixties. "Okay, I'll come. I'll sort through old clothes and find some things for you. I'll see you soon."

I hang up and go into one of the spare rooms and grab the box labelled 60s and I go back into my room and start sorting through it all and finding something to wear. I have my back to the door when Damon walks in.

"You still mad?" He asks.

"Am I still grounded?" I ask as I still sort through all the clothes.

"If you stop it with the loud trashy music every time I piss you off, then no." Damon says as he walks over to me.

I look over to him with a raised brow, "What's the catch?"

"Well, there's this dance tonight-" Damon starts but I cut him off.

"I already know about the dance, Elena called. That's why I'm looking through all of this." I say as I gesture down at the box on my bed.

Damon smirks at me, "Look at you being besties with Elena."

I glare over to him and hit him against the chest with a boot, "Don't push it, dick." I look away and shrug my shoulders, "So maybe she isn't as bad as I thought."

Damon laughs, "Aw, my little sister, maybe you don't have such a cold heart after all."

"Are you going to shut the hell up or do you want me to throw you over my god damn balcony?!" I threaten him as I glare over to Damon.

Damon laughs as he cups my face and squeezes my cheeks together, I push him off me just causing him to laugh even more, "You're so easy to wind up, Lo."

We can hear Stefan, Elena and Bonnie get back home. "You coming?" Damon asks as he starts to walk out my room.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a second." I shout back at him as I put all the clothes back into the box. I freshen myself up in the bathroom before I go downstairs.

Meanwhile, downstairs Damon, Stefan, Elena and Bonnie are all standing in the living room discussing what happened at school today.

"So we go to the dance, we find him." Damon says as he walks fully into the living room.

Stefan frowns at Damon, "Really? How are we going to do that? We don't even know what he looks like."

"Something tells me he's not going to be sixteen and pimply." Damon responds sarcastically.

"He could be anywhere at any time. He compelled somebody at school." Stefan looks over to Elena and Bonnie, "I guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"

Alaric knocks on the door and walks in.

"There you are." Damon shouts over to Alaric.

Alaric smiles awkwardly, "Sorry I'm late."

"Lola, get down here!" Damon shouts at the top of his voice.

I walk into the living room and glare over to my big brother, "I'm already here asshole, no need to shout." I smile over to Alaric and pat him on the arm, "Hey Ric." He smiles over to me weirdly, I don't know what it is about that smile but just wasn't like a usual awkward Ric smile.

"Hey, I need you to put me and Lola down as chaperones at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move." Damon says to Alaric, he turns to face me, "Lola, feel free to share a description of the guy that is coming to kill us all."

"Er," I try to think how to describe him as I walk over tot he drinks table, "Dark blonde, blue eyes," I say as I turn to face everyone, I roll my eyes, "Annoying British accent."

Damon looks over to me and smirks, "You've got a bit of, uh," He gestures to the corner of his mouth, "You got a bit of drool...right there."

I slap him across his shoulder which makes him push me slightly. I smirk over to him as I push him even harder causing him to fall to the floor. I smile smugly down at him, he quickly gets up but Stefan stands in between us reaching his arms out stopping us to go any further.

"All right calm down." Stefan shouts, clearly frustrated at us, "I can't believe I'm the youngest out of us all and I'm the one breaking you both up from fighting."

I glare over to Damon over Stefan's shoulder, "He started it."

Stefan glares down at me, "Well I'm ending it." He snaps.

I look over to Alaric who is laughing at Damon & I, that's weird. He's seen me and Damon fight a few times now and usually he just rolls his eyes.

Elena coughs breaking up the silence, "Okay as we were saying, so we find him and then what, hmm? What's our plan of attack?"

"Me." Bonnie says, we all glance towards her, "I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

Alaric laughs, "That's not going to be that easy. I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around."

Damon nods, "Alaric has a point. I mean, what if he..." Damon vamp speeds over to Bonnie but she throws him on the other side of the room with her powers without even touching him.

I cover my mouth trying to hide my laughter, when Damon sits up he glares over to me, leading me to hide my laughter with a cough as I look back over to Bonnie who is looking awfully proud of herself.

Stefan smiles slightly, "Well, I was impressed."

"Me too," I look at Bonnie, "Do it again."

Damon vamp speeds over to me but I vamp speed away quicker and hide behind Alaric. Alaric tenses up at my touch, what is up with this guy today why is he acting so weird?

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me." Bonnie says confidently, she looks over to Elena, "I can kill him, Elena. I know I can."

Alaric and Bonnie soon leave, I take Elena upstairs and give her the box full of sixties clothing, then I start to get ready myself. I've got some sixties music on in the background as I get ready, I really enjoyed the sixties to be honest.

Aside from the fact Damon had his humanity off, I mean he had it off but the only thing he cared about was me so at least he wasn't trying to kill me. Also apart from the fact I was looking over my shoulder for most of that decade worrying Klaus was going to find me, or worse Mikael.

My hair is styled with so much hairspray to give it volume, I've pulled a part of my hair back, backcombed and tied with a ribbon. I've done the classic sixties make up, thick wing eyeliner and minimal make up; this look brings back so many memories.

Pale blue and silver shimmer halter dress is what I'm wearing tonight, this was my favourite outfit from what I kept from the sixties, I've styled it with white leather boots, flower earrings and a flower bracelet.

"Well this brings back a lot of memories." Damon says as he walks into my room.

I give him a little twirl, "Still looks brand new, doesn't it?"

Damon smirks, "It does. If I remember rightly, that's the dress you wore the night you killed about 10 men who were in the mafia."

"It was 12 actually." I shrug, "They were looking at me the wrong way."

Damon laughs, "Lo, if you killed everyone who you think looked at you the wrong way, there wouldn't be anyone left on this earth."

I smile as I sigh, "And wouldn't that be a better place."

"Here." Damon says as he throws a blood bag over to me, "One more for good luck."

Smiling over to Damon as I raise the blood bag, "Cheers."

Damon is looking at me with his stupid sympathetic look, "How you feeling about tonight?" Yep. Like clockwork asking me if I'm okay.

I move the blood bag away from my mouth and smile over to him, "I'm fine, D. Honest. Just the sooner this is over with the better."

Damon smiles and nods, "Well you finish that and I'll go see what's keeping the other two. Meet you downstairs." He leaves my room and goes to check on Stefan and Elena.

Taking a deep breath as I sit down on my bed, I can't help but think about Klaus all over again. Is this plan going to happen? It's Klaus Mikaelson we are trying to kill, he is always one step ahead of people who are going against him.

Then my mind goes to Katherine, what has she told him? Has she told him our plan so he is going to be prepared for what we have against him? He couldn't, Katherine didn't know Bonnie got her powers back. Taking one last deep breath I finish the blood bag off and head downstairs to wait for everyone else.

---------------------------------------------

Bonnie and Jeremy are at the front of the high school. Jeremy stops Bonnie in her tracks, "Wait." He looks down to his hand and removes his ring, "Look, I, um, I want you to have this."

Bonnie smiles up at Jeremy, "If you're asking me to go steady, I think that was the fifties."

"No, I'm serious, Bonnie." Jeremy says.

Bonnie smiles and shakes her head, "The ring won't work on me, Jeremy."

Jeremy looks at Bonnie confused, "But it was made by a witch."

"To protect from the supernatural, not for someone who is." Bonnie says softly.

Jeremy shakes his head refusing to believe it and feeling helpless, "Well, I have to do something. I can't just...I can't just let you get yourself killed."

Bonnie shrugs, "Just because a bunch of dead witches gave me a warning doesn't mean I'm going to die."

"So you're saying there's a 50-50 shot you won't?" Jeremy asks, Bonnie remains silent, "Look, I'm sorry. But...you know I don't have the best luck in the girlfriend department."

"Hey. Listen, I...I can't explain it. But I can feel them. I'm empowered, Jeremy, I can do this. I know I can. I'm strong enough." Bonnie pulls Jeremy into a hug, she looks over his shoulder and spots Damon, "Damon."

Damon smiles over to the couple, "Evening."

I walk over to be besides Damon and smile over to Bonnie, "The sixties suit you, Bonnie." Bonnie smiles back to me and Damon and I walk into the school.

"Did you hear that?" I ask Damon as we walk.

"Yup." Damon responds popping the P.

I look up to him, "So you know what you need to do?"

Damon smirks down at me, "Absolutely."

We all walk into the school and to be completely honest, even though it's a school dance; they captured the sixties. Well, the tacky side of the sixties but still. My eyes are looking around everywhere searching for Klaus but there is no sign of him.

"Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight." A girl says up on the stage, this must be Dana, she looks over to our group, specifically Elena, "This is for Elena. From Klaus."

'Dedicated to the One I Love' starts to play, this is typical Klaus and does not surprise me in anyway possible. That man and his big stupid ego. I look over to Elena and she just looks completely stunned not knowing what to do.

Damon scoffs, "That was a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us."

Elena is looking around the crowd, "I know everyone here, do you see him Lola?"

I shake my head as I do the same, "No I don't see him."

Stefan shrugs, "Maybe he's not here. Just wants us to believe that he is."

I step in front of them all, "It's a party, people. Blend."

Damon nods, "Lola's right. Let him come to us."

"Good idea." Bonnie says as she takes Jeremy's arm and drags him into the crowd.

Jeremy laughs awkwardly, "No, no, I really don't feel like dancing."

"Too bad." Bonnie says as she continues to drag him onto the dance floor.

Damon notices Alaric, he nudges me so I notice him too, "There's Ric. We'll be back." Damon takes my arm and moves me through the crowd towards Alaric as though I was going to break.

"Special dedication, huh? This guy's a little twisted." Alaric says as we walk over to him.

Damon scoffs, "I'm not impressed."

Alaric looks over to Damon, "No?"

"Let me know if you see anything out of whack." Damon says to us both, he then leaves and walks through the crowd, keeping an eye out for anything.

Alaric smiles down at me, "What about you? Were you not impressed?"

I laugh slightly, "Ha, no I wasn't."

"Why not?"

I shrug as I watch everyone dancing, "I've known Klaus a long time, I've seen way better tactics than this." I look up at Alaric and smile, "Maybe it's his old age finally catching up to him."

Alaric laughs, "So uh, what were you doing in the sixties?"

I smirk as I remember my time in the sixties, "Having fun with my big bro. Enjoying a Klaus free life."

"How are you feeling about him being here?" Alaric asks looking his usual awkward self.

"I don't feel anything." I say shrugging my shoulders, "It has to be done, he was going to kill me anyway so may as well beat him and kill him first."

Alaric looks at me surprised, "You don't really think he would kill you, would you?"

I look up at him and smile weakly, "Probably."

Alaric shrugs, "Maybe he just wanted an explanation on why the love of his life left him, you didn't really give him a great reason."

What did he just say? How did he know I was the love of Klaus' life? I mean, I've probably said that Klaus was mine but that doesn't mean I was his and how the hell does he know what "reasons" I gave Klaus when I left? I frown in confusion at Alaric, "How did you know I was the love of his life?"

Alaric starts to look uncomfortable, "Well you said before he was yours so just figured you were his." He puts his drink on the table and begins to walk off, "Excuse me."

There is something seriously up with him tonight. Before I can even think anymore of it, Elena walks over to me.

"Hey Lola, how you doing?" Elena asks as she hugs me.

"I'm fine actually." I pull away from the hug, "What about you?"

Elena looks uncomfortable, "Freaking out a little bit but other than that."

I smile over to her, "You'll be fine Elena, you've got all of us here to protect you."

Jeremy walks over to us looking quite pissed. I look over to where he came from and see Damon dancing with Bonnie. I listen in on their conversation, what Damon & I heard outside was right, Bonnie isn't going to survive this.

"What are they up to?" Elena asks Jeremy as she watches Damon and Bonnie.

Jeremy shrugs, "Who knows?"

Elena looks over to Jeremy concerned, "Is there something going on, Jer? You okay?"

"Fine. I'm fine." Jeremy snaps and then storms off.

Stefan walks over to us both, "Everything all right?"

Elena shakes her head, "I'm not sure."

Something in my mind finally clicks, I know exactly why Ric has been acting so weird today. Also why he said I never gave a great reason why I left Klaus. That bastard, he's done it again.

"I'm going to go and find Ric." I say over to Elena and Stefan and then leave the hall and make my way to Ric's classroom.

Walking through all the school corridors I'm mentally slapping myself. Why the hell didn't I realise this sooner! I finally find the right classroom, 'Mr Saltzman - History'. I look through the little window in the door and I was right, he is here.

"A bit weird to be marking papers during a dance isn't it?" I say leaning against the door frame with my arms crossed against my chest.

Alaric turns to face me, a little shocked, he laughs, "Yeah, all that music was giving me a bit of a headache. How come you've left the fun?"

I shrug as I step into the classroom, "I was getting tired of the fruit punch." I walk over to his desk and look through the drawers and find his secret bottle of bourbon, "See this is why you're a great teacher." I sit down on his chair, leaning back and putting my feet up on the desk, "So go on Mr History Teacher, give me a fact about the sixties."

Alaric leans against the desk with his arms crossed against his chest, smirking at me, "Surely you will know everything anyway, considering you were there for it all?"

I laugh, "True." Now it's time to win my oscar, I start to shift in the seat and look uncomfortable, "So, um, you haven't told anyone about the other night have you?"

Alaric looks over to me with a raised brow, "The other night?"

I nod as I lift my feet down from the desk and sit up slightly, "Yeah, in your apartment." I stand and walk slowly towards him, "You were feeling down after another rough patch with Jenna, so I came round to comfort you, with a bottle of vodka. Next thing you know we were ripping each other's clothes off."

Alaric starts looking awkward, "I, uh-"

I step even closer so I'm not stood in between his legs, I bite my lip as I take in every detail of him, "The way you held me that night," I look him in the eyes and smirk, "I've never been held like that before."

That little glisten in Alaric's eyes it most definitely Klaus, I can tell I'm getting to him the way I always used to.

He smirks up at me, "Maybe I need a reminder of that night."

I smirk back down at him, I grab his hands and place them onto my legs, just under the hem of my dress, "Well, it started when you placed you hands here..." I slowly guide his hands up my body until he reaches my waist, "...and then here." I whisper softly to him.

I step even closer to him if it was even possible, I wrap my arms around his neck, "Then one thing lead to another..." I lean forward, our lips are practically touching, I sigh as I pull away and smirk, "Oh Nik...I thought you would have remembered how much I hate vodka." I step away from him.

The smirk on his face immediately leaves, he grabs my wrist pulling me closer to him again, I gasp as he does so and glare up at him.

That smirk on his face, if I had any doubts before I now, they have well and truly left my mind; this is definitely Klaus, "Nice performance."

I flash a smug smile at him. He pushes me against the wall, placing both hands on either side of me on the wall, trapping me, "Now what am I going to do with you?"

"Kill me!" I snap back at him, "That's what you've wanted for years so just do it, kill me."

Klaus laughs slightly, "Now why would I want to kill such a pretty face?" He moves a small piece of my hair from my face, I move away from his hand and glare back up at him.

"Now I want you to stay in this room until I come back for you. You will not leave this room." Klaus tries to compel me.

"I won't leave this room." I respond in a monotone voice, I should seriously win an oscar for this.

He smiles at me once more and then leaves the classroom. I wait a few seconds until I also leave to go and see what he's planning next.

Walking through the hallways yet again, but there's no sign of him. I stand and focus on any sounds and that's when I hear his voice as well as Elena's and Bonnie's.

"Okay, so where are you taking us?" Elena asks panicking.

"Just a little further." Alaric responds slowly.

Elena looks around confused, "Wait...Something's not right."

"Where's Jeremy?" Bonnie demands.

Alaric stops walking and laughs, "I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, ugh. Not my decade, well I'm sure Lola can vouch for that considering she is the reason it was so dreadful." He laughs again and turns to face Bonnie and Elena, "I mean, whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz."

Elena looks over to Alaric confused, "Alaric. Are you on vervain?"

Alaric laughs as he takes a few steps towards them, "Now why would you ask me that question, Elena?"

Elena looks over to Bonnie, "He's being compelled."

Alaric shakes his head, "Nope. Try again."

Bonnie stands in front of Elena and prepares to use her magic if needed, "What's going on?"

I walk over to them, "I'll give you a hint." Elena and Bonnie turn to face me, I stand next to them, "He's not Alaric." I look over to Alaric and smile smugly as I cross my arms against my chest, "Nice try with the compelling, I would have thought you would know I would be on vervain with the likes of you being in this town."

Alaric laughs, "Ah, the beautiful Lola. Not just beauty but brains as well."

"Klaus." Elena says under her breath.

Alaric smiles broadly, "Surprise!"

Elena shakes her head in disbelief "Oh, no. No, it's not possible."

Alaric laughs, "Just relax, Elena. I'm not here to hurt you. You're not on my hit list tonight." He looks over to Bonnie, "But you are."

Alaric starts to walk towards Bonnie but she throws him against the wall with her powers. Alaric groans in pain but soon gets up, "Now, did I mention that I knew a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that."

He rushes over to her again but Bonnie throws him across the hallway and into a display case, smashing the glass. He falls to the ground but laughs, "By all means...Fire away!" He slowly starts to get up again, "If you kill this body, I'll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy."

I look over to both Elena and Bonnie, "Go. Run. Run!"

We all run down the hallway, through the doors leading to another hallway. Bonnie closes the doors with her powers. Damon runs through another pair of doors and us looking confused, "What happened?"

"Klaus is in Alaric's body." Elena says trying to catch her breath.

Damon looks at us all confused, "What?"

"He's possessing it or something." Bonnie says panicking.

Damon looks over to Elena, "Go find Stefan. Now."

Elena nods, "Okay." She hesitates for a second.

"Now!" Damon snaps, she runs in the same direction Damon came from and goes to find Stefan.

Damon looks over to me worried, looking to see if I have any injuries, "Are you okay?"

I huff in frustration, "Damon, I'm fine. Now is not the time to be all protective big brother."

Damon glances to Bonnie, "Can you kill him?"

Bonnie isn't convinced, "He's got some kind of protection spell on him."

Damon is now glaring at Bonnie, "You have the power of a hundred witches. Break it."

"I'm trying!" Bonnie argues back, "If I kill Alaric, he'll just possess someone else. He knows I have my power, Damon. He's trying to kill me."

Damon looks over to me, I nod back at him knowing exactly what he's thinking. He faces Bonnie again, "No. Klaus does not get to win tonight, no way. You still willing to do whatever it takes to kill him?"

Bonnie nods and she goes to find Alaric. Stefan and Elena are running through the halls looking for Bonnie. Damon and I walk out of one of the doors to speak to them.

"There you are." Damon says over to them casually.

"What are you doing?" Elena asks panicking as she glances between us both, "Where's Bonnie?"

I sigh as I take a few steps towards her and Stefan, "She's doing what she has to do."

"What?" Elena asks looking at me shocked.

"Where is she?" Stefan demands as he looks at both Damon and I.

Damon stands in front of Stefan, "Stefan, let her do this."

Stefan pushes Damon away and glares at him, "Damn it, Damon, where is she?!"

Bonnie is still fighting Alaric with her powers, she breaks his leg and he falls to the floor groaning in pain. The lights flicker and a gust of wind sends papers flying. Alaric manages to stand up again but Bonnie then breaks his foot and he falls to the floor in pain again.

Elena and Stefan rush towards the doors, Bonnie turns to face them both and she shuts the doors with her powers.

"Bonnie, no!" Elena shouts, both her and Stefan are pushing against the doors to open them but it's no use.

Alaric is crawling on the floor looking up at Bonnie. Bonnie fights Alaric and lights start bursting, sending a shower of sparks raining down, "Die!" Bonnie screams as more lights burst and Alaric falls to the floor again.

Bonnie turns to face Elena and smiles weakly at her, Elena is stood in shock watching what is happening at her best friend; Stefan is trying to break through the door but it's hopeless. Bonnie turns to face Alaric again and glares down at him. She arches her back and falls to the floor; dead.

All the lights go out, the doors are now open. Stefan and Elena rush in and kneel besides Bonnie. Elena is hysterical, she takes Bonnie in hers arms as she cries, "No! Bonnie! Bonnie, Bonnie! Bonnie! Hey, hey."

Stefan looks around them to see that Alaric has vanished.

"Stefan, she's not breathing!" Elena says as she sobs, "Stefan! Stefan, I can't find her pulse! Stefan! Do something, please! Stefan, please! Just give her blood, do something, please!"

Stefan slowly looks up at Elena and sighs, "It's too late. I'm sorry."

Elena is still crying and shaking her head in disbelief, "No! No. No, no, no! Bonnie! Bonnie, please, no! No, no, no, no!"

I walk into the room to see what's happened, Damon is stood besides me; we both look down at them all in shock.

"Stefan, get Elena out of here. We'll deal with the body." Damon says as we stand in the doorway.

Elena looks up and glares at Damon, "What do you mean, deal with it?"

"The sheriff can't know about this. Last thing we need's another mysterious death." Damon says as he walks towards Elena and Bonnie, he kneels down next to them.

"This is Bonnie!" Elena snaps.

I walk over and kneel besides Damon, I look up at Stefan, "Get her home. Now. So we can clean this up."

Stefan grabs Elena and helps her to get up, "Hey, hey, hey."

Elena shakes her head still crying, "No." Her face drops, "Jeremy. Oh, my God, Jeremy. What about Jeremy?"

"I'll find him." I say glancing up to Elena.

"No!" Elena cries as she stands up. She looks at Bonnie's body, crying and screaming. Stefan takes her and they leave.

Damon looks down at Bonnie, he caresses her cheek and closes her eyes. I stand up and look down at Damon, "Come on." Damon picks Bonnie's body up and we walk outside.

I open up Damon's trunk for him and he gently places Bonnie's body in there and closes it. I look over to see Jeremy running towards us, "Lola! Hey, I got your message, I can't find anyone. Where's Elena, where's Bonnie?"

Damon sighs, "We need to have a little talk."

We take Jeremy and Bonnie to the old witches house. It's best to keep them there for now, it's safer for Bonnie while Klaus thinks she is dead.

-------------------------------------------

I've not said a word since we left the witches house. Damon hasn't even tried to get me to speak either, I think he's finally seen sense for once and just isn't pushing me and he's just leaving me alone with my thoughts.

What did Klaus mean when he said he wasn't going to kill me, is he not going to kill me at all or just wasn't going to kill me tonight? If he isn't going to kill me, what does he want from me?

We arrive back home and we walk into the house. Elena looks up as we walk in, anger and betrayal in her eyes.

"What did you do with her?!" Elena shouts as she storms over to us both.

Damon frowns as he looks over to Stefan, "Will you please calm her down?"

Elena reaches her arm out, as though it will stop Stefan from interfering, "Don't talk like I'm not standing right in front of you."

Damon glares over at Elena, "Please calm down."

"You knew! Didn't you?" Elena says with tears falling down her face, glancing between us both, "You knew that if she harnessed all that power, that she would die, didn't you?"

"Yes." Damon bluntly replies, "Yes, I knew."

Elena frowns at him, she scoffs and slaps him across the face. Damon turns to face her again with anger all over his face.

"All right that's enough." I say as I stand between them both, I turn to face Elena with a serious expression, "You need to listen to me, and prepare for what I'm about to say. Bonnie had to die. Klaus using Alaric's body was a total surprise." I scoff, "Hell, even I didn't realise it until it was too late. Bonnie wasn't prepared for that. And he wasn't going to stop, and we weren't going to be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it."

Elena looks up at me in shock. Damon turns to face her again, "She cast a spell. Bonnie's okay." He turns to walk away again. I smile awkwardly at her and Stefan and follow Damon.

"You know, you could have told me." Stefan says to us both as we walk up the stairs.

Damon scoffs, "How do I know when you're going to go blabbing things to your girlfriend?"

"You understand what you put her through?" Stefan says, full on patronising us both.

I roll my eyes and laugh slightly, "See, that's why we didn't tell you. 'Cause you would have never been able to do it. Don't get me wrong, Stefan. We don't mind being the bad guys. We'll make all the life and death decisions while you're busy worrying about collateral damage." I continue walking up the stairs and go to my room.

Damon watches me as I walk up the stairs, he looks back down at Stefan and shrugs, "Lola's right, tonight had to happen the way it did. It had to look real and if that means Elena hates me, then fine. But at the end of the day, I'll be the one to keep her alive." Damon then continues up the stairs.

I step out of my dress as soon as I walk into my bedroom and finally change into some more comfortable clothes. I brush all the hairspray out of my hair and remove all of the make up. All I want to do is to go and see Damon, so that's what I do.

I walk into his bedroom as he walks out of his bathroom, he looks over to me sympathetically. As soon as I lock eyes with him I crack and burst into tears.

Damon rushes over to me and pulls me into a hug, "Hey, it's okay. You're okay."

I bury myself into Damon's chest as I try to calm myself down. I pull away from the hug and wipe away all my tears, "I thought all of this was just one big hoax, but he's actually here."

Damon holds my hairs and crouches down so he is level with me, I look at him with tears in my eyes, "Hey, listen to me. I'm not going to let Klaus come anywhere near you, do you hear me? I'm your big brother and it's my job to protect you and that's exactly what I'm going to do. He will have to go through me before he even think of hurting you."

I sigh as I shake my head, "That's the thing, I don't think he is going to kill me like I thought he was going to all this time. There was just something he said and I don't know, I just don't think he's going to hurt me."

Damon frowns at me and looks confused, "So if his plan isn't to kill you, then what is his plan with you?"

I look up to Damon and shrug, "I don't know."
