The Last Day

LOLA POV:

Imagine all the people you meet in your life. There are so many. They come in like waves, trickling in and out with the tide. Some waves are much bigger and make more of an impact than others. Sometimes the waves bring with them things from deep in the bottom of the sea and they leave those things tossed onto the shore. Imprints against the grains of sand that prove the waves had once been there, long after the tide recedes.

That's what the Mikaelsons are like to me. They were the biggest wave I've ever came across, and they all brought so much with them that their impressions would always be there, even when the tide rolled out. But not all impressions are good. The bad impressions are the reason why Klaus needs to die. As much as it is going to break my heart to see him die, it needs to happen.

I've been standing on my balcony for god knows how long, it's been long enough for the coffee in my hands to now be an iced coffee. I get brought out of my thoughts when I hear a knock at the door, maybe it's Damon coming to clear the air. That's what I hope anyway. "Come in." I shout with my back to the door as I still look out on the balcony.

"Hey," Elena says softly as she walks in, "How you feeling?"

I laugh slightly at her concern for me, I turn my head slightly, "Oh you know, feeling great."

Elena sighs as she walks towards me, she places her hand on my shoulder, "Damon will get out of his mood eventually."

I can't help but laugh at her optimism about my brother, "I don't know. Last time we argued like that, it was another 32 years until I seen him again and when I did see him, he almost killed me." I shrug and sigh thinking back to those times, "Which was caused by yet another argument and I didn't see him again for about 3 years."

I glance over to Elena, I can tell she is wanting to know more, "What happened?" Yep, knew it.

I give her half a smile and sigh, "Katherine."

Elena frowns in confusion, "But didn't you both think she was in the tomb?"

"It was because of his feelings for Katherine." I explain, "When Damon loves someone, he loves hard, it consumes him. It was like that even when he was human, so when he became a vampire and all his feelings became heightened, it just became too much for me to handle and I wanted to go off on my own. I just had my own heart broken and just wanted to feel free, so that's why the first argument happened."

"And the second?"

I take a deep breath, "The second was because even 32 years later he was still acting like that. I made a new life for myself and he was still hellbent on finding a way to get Katherine out of that damn tomb. I basically told him to get a grip and he retaliated by stabbing me with a stake, little did he know there was still a bit of wood inside me slowly making it's way to my heart."

Elena sighs and has sympathy all over her face, "Klaus saved you didn't he?"

I smile faintly as I remember how much Klaus looked after me back then, "Yeah he did." I cough slightly to break up the awkward moment, "So, was there another reason you came in here other than just checking I was okay?"

The sympathetic look on Elena's face leaves, she smiles, "Yeah, Elijah is downstairs. He's going to tell us a bit more about the curse."

I return a nod to Elena and we both then head downstairs to speak to Elijah. We both go into the library where Elijah and Stefan are waiting for us, guessing Damon is still asleep or is just still being ignorant to us all. Both Stefan and Elijah smile over to me which I return. Elena and I both take a seat on the couch, I sit with my legs crossed, resting my head on to hands.

"Tonight is the full moon." Elijah says cutting to the chase, "We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse."

"Lola said that the sun and the moon curse is fake?" Stefan starts, "That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus."

Elijah nods, "Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it..." Elijah glances over to me, "He'll be a true hybrid." I shift uncomfortably in my seat, this can not be happening right now. Is it too late for me to escape this place and go somewhere else, literally anywhere.

Damon walks into the room behind Elijah and scoffs, "Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie." Damon glances over to me but I look away instantly, I feel so awkward around him right now.

"Damon..." Stefan warns.

Elena shakes her head, "No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying."

"I'll write her a great eulogy!" Damon mocks.

"It's not an option, Damon." Elena says sternly. Damon clenches his jaw to stop him from snapping back at her.

Stefan looks over to Elijah, "All right, how do we break this curse?"

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward." Elijah explains, "The ingredients, so to speak, you already know."

"The moonstone." I mumble to myself, but everyone else hears me.

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone." Elijah continues to explain, "After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."

"And where do I fit into it?" Elena asks.

"The final part of the ritual." Elijah says as he walks over to the bookshelf and grabs a wooden box, "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgรคnger...to the point of your death."

We all glance at Elena with our eyes filled with sorrow. Stefan takes Elena's hand and buries his face in his free hand. I hate seeing Stefan looking this distressed over something he can't fix. I may not be Elena's number one fan but she doesn't deserve this.

Elena sighs and looks over to Elijah, "And that's where you come in."

"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina." Elijah says as he opens the wooden box, revealing a glass jar, "It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation."

Elena gives Elijah a quizzical look, "So I'll be dead?"

"And then you won't." Elijah finishes.

"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon snaps, glaring at Elijah. He looks over to Elena, "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"

"Those rings only work on humans." Elijah points out, "The doppelgรคnger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work."

Damon scoffs, he glares at Elijah, "I'll take those odds over your elixir." His face instantly changes when he looks over to Elena, worry filling his eyes, "What if it doesn't work, Elena?"

Elena shrugs and looks up at Damon, "Then I guess I'll just be dead."

"Wha-?" Damon's mouth is agape with shock, unable to finish his words. He looks over to Stefan, signalling him to speak but he doesn't. I look down at the ground avoiding eye contact with him because he will have only used the same facial expression on him. No one else responds so Damon storms out of the room.

Elena sighs and changes the subject once Damon is out the room, "Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?"

"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years." Elijah clarifies, "If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will."

Stefan goes outside to speak to Damon, leaving Elena, Elijah and myself in the library. We all just sit there in silence for a moment, each of thinking of different things and not knowing what to say to one another.

Doubts flood my mind about whether Elijah's elixir is going to work, which will result in Elena being dead and leaving both of my brothers heartbroken and no doubt leaving me picking up the pieces.

I break the silence by standing up and start walking out of the room, "I need to get out of this house, it's too stuffy."

Elijah stands and steps towards me, "Do you really think that's wise when Klaus is somewhere in this town?"

I shrug as I throw my hands up in the air and laugh slightly, I turn to face him, "I don't know, Elijah. If I stay in this house then I'm stuck under this dark cloud and my head is full with thoughts that the elixir might not work which will mean Elena dies and my brothers will be devastated."

"Lola, it's going to end up okay." Elena says confidently.

I laugh as I shake my head in disagreement, "Is it really, Elena? I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing that. I've had to watch my brothers mourn a girl that meant the world to them before, I don't think they can handle all of that again." Before either of them can speak again, I vamp speed out of the room.

--------------------------------------------

3RD PERSON POV:

Meanwhile, Damon is stood in the gardens drinking bourbon as Stefan approaches him, "Breakfast of champions, huh?"

"I'm surrounded by idiots. I need all the help I can get." Damon says irritated as he takes another drink.

Stefan sighs, "You know, you're not helping."

Damon scoffs, "Elijah is an original vampire, Stefan. One we tried to kill. You're going to believe this guy?"

Stefan shrugs as he throws his hands up, "What do you want me to do, Damon? Elena made her decision. She's choosing to trust Elijah. I'm going to put my faith in her."

"Why? She's going to end up dead." Damon mocks.

"Because she put her faith in me." Stefan defends his girlfriend, "She chose to trust me in spite of what I am. I'm going to bet on somebody's instincts, it's going to be hers."

Damon glares at his brother, "Well, then, that makes you the biggest idiot of them all."

"She chose to trust you, too." Stefan says impassively.

"Then maybe you shouldn't be so sure about her instincts." Damon argues back, he drinks more of the bourbon and then throws the rest of what's in the glass on the floor and begins to walk away.

"What about Lola?" Stefan shouts over to Damon.

Damon stops in his pace and turns back to Stefan and pulls a face, "What about her?"

"How long are you going to be mad at her about something she couldn't control?" Stefan sticks up for his sister as he glares over to Damon.

Damon scoffs, "She could control it, Stefan. She could have told us everything she knew weeks ago."

"Would that have changed anything?" Stefan retorts, Damon only replies by shrugging his shoulders, "Because I don't think it would have." Stefan continues, "Elijah and Klaus being brothers doesn't change anything and the sun and the moon curse being fake doesn't change anything either."

Damon shrugs, "We don't know that for sure."

"Sure we do." Stefan says, he steps closer to Damon and prods him against his chest, "I just think you're angry that she has spent more time with these guys than she has with you and you're worried she is going to run off with them again. Your taking your frustration about on our sister when none of this is her fault. How about you be the big brother she needs right now instead of pushing her away like you did over 100 years ago?"

Damon doesn't respond to Stefan. He knows deep down what Stefan said to him is right, but he wasn't angry at Lola over having a new life with a bunch of original vampires. He was angry at himself that he was too wrapped up falling for his brother's girlfriend he never considered how his sister was feeling about the fact they're all planning to kill her ex boyfriend. He heads back into the house to find Lola and clear the air.

-------------------------------------------------

LOLA POV:

I've been spending the last few minutes just pacing up and down the hallway, debating on what to do. Do I stay here? Help Stefan out as much as I can even though nothing is going to change what is about to happen. Or do I leave? I'll be away from Klaus, it's clear Damon doesn't want me here anymore either. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do, I'm going to get out of this town now while I can.

Just as I'm about to walk upstairs to pack, Damon walks over to me looking awkward, "Hey."

No doubt I'm looking just as awkward as him, "I was just leaving, I'm going to go pack and get out of here because I know that's what you want." I blurt out as I walk past him towards the stairs.

Damon grabs my arm as I walk past, making me stop, "Lola, wait. I don't want you to leave."

I look him up and down confused, "You don't?"

Damon sighs trying to find the right words, "Look, I'm-uh, I just-. Uh, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I understand why you didn't tell us about the real curse and I'm glad you're taking a break from being an original groupie by helping us kill Klaus."

I stare at my brother dumbfounded for a moment, then I laugh, "Is this your version of an apology?"

Damon plasters his famous smirk on his face and shrugs, "Take it or leave it."

I can't help but laugh at my brother's stupid attempt at an apology, but I honestly can't stay mad at him and I'm just amazed he reached out to me first, "I'll take it," I pull him into a hug, "...dumbass." We both pull away from the hug, faces full of relief that we've managed to get out of our little spat in record time. That all vanishes when we hear shouting coming from the front door.

"Get out!" Jenna shouts.

We then hear Alaric's voice pleading with her, "Jenna, Jenna!"

We both rush to the front door, panicking that Klaus is still in Ric's body. We both get there at the same time as Stefan, Elena and Elijah. Damon stands in front of me in a protective manner.

"Get out!" Jenna snaps as she holds a crossbow, pointing it at Alaric.

"Where the hell did she get the damn crossbow?!" I mutter, only Damon hearing me which makes him laugh slightly.

"Jenna, put the crossbow down, okay? It's me." Alaric pleads with his hands up in surrender.

"Stay away from me." Jenna shouts out.

Elena look at the pair fearfully, "What's going on?"

"It's me, Elena, I swear, okay?" Alaric assures us, "He let me go. Klaus let me go."

I wonder when I won't get a sudden chill down my spine every time I hear his name.

Damon isn't convinced, it's a clear indication he isn't as his hold on my wrist becomes tighter, "Prove it."

Alaric looks over to Jenna, if I didn't know Alaric was the real Alaric, I do just by his awkward facial expressions he loves to pull, "Okay, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to..."

"Okay, it's him." Jenna blurts out before Alaric can finish, she rolls her eyes as she lowers the crossbow.

All of us look at the pair with raised brows, I'm trying to hold in my laughter. Stefan speaks up, "Why did he let you go?"

Alaric sighs, "He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight."

Great.

----------------------------------------------------

Everyone but Damon head into the living room to start interrogating Alaric and try and get some more information about the sacrifice tonight.

"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Stefan says as he paces the room.

"No. It's like I blacked out and woke up three days later." Alaric explains, "Katherine was there."

"She's under compulsion." I speak up as I stand by the drinks table, "Damon snuck her some vervain, but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can."

Elena looks around confused, "Where is Damon?"

"I saw him go upstairs." Jenna points out, Elena gets up and leaves to go and speak to Damon.

Alaric sighs, "So what else did I do?"

"You felt me up." I blurt out, Alaric looks over to me shocked, I wish I took a picture of his face that was really funny, "Relax, I'm the one who kinda started it. I was just doing that so I could prove Klaus was you...or you were Klaus." I stop as I try to think how we can actually describe those events, I shrug, "However you wanna explain." I mumble into my glass as I down the rest of my bourbon.

Suddenly, loud crashes can be heard from upstairs, we hear Elena shout, "Damon, no!" Stefan vamp speeds upstairs to see what's going on. Everyone looks over at me, I glance between them all and smile awkwardly, "Excuse me while I go deal with that."

I vamp speed upstairs just as Stefan pushes Damon away from Elena, causing her to fall on the floor. I look down at her to see her with blood smothered over her face. Ugh, no he didn't.

"What did you do?!" Stefan shouts, Damon stands back up as Stefan crouches down to check Elena, "Huh? What did you do?!"

"Oh my god." I breathe out watching the chaos right in front of me.

"I saved her life." Damon says, he looks down at Elena, "You're so bent on dying, at least this way I know you'll come back."

"As a vampire!" Stefan argues, he stands up and walks towards Damon, "She'll come back a vampire!"

Damon shrugs, "It's better than nothing else."

I've just made up with Damon and don't particularly want to start an argument between us again but this was low even for him. All the years we both spent tormenting Stefan because he forced this life onto us, and now he's going the same with Elena?! I sigh as I walk closer to my brothers, "Damon, how could you of all people take that choice away from her?"

Damon down to Elena, "Go ahead, wish me an eternity of misery. Believe me, you'll get over it."

Stefan rushes over to Damon and throws him across the room, he falls behind a table breaking a lamp as he falls.

"Stefan!" Elena pleads but Stefan doesn't listen.

Damon gets back up, he breaks up the lamp and vamp speeds Stefan against the wall, pressing him against the wall with the makeshift stake, Admit it. You just wish you had the balls to do it yourself."

Stefan pushes Damon off him, he punches Damon in the face several times in a row. Damon falls on the floor, with blood covering his face.

"Stefan, that's enough!" I shout out, I walk over to try and break my brothers up but Stefan pushes me away, I land besides Elena, hitting my shoulder against the corner of the door frame, dislocating it. I sit up slightly and groan in pain as I pop my shoulder back into place, "Great." I mumble to myself.

I groan in frustration at how pathetic my brothers are being right now, I vamp speed over to stop them, but before I can, Damon takes the wooden stake and drives it through Stefan's abdomen. Stefan falls to the floor, groaning in pain. Elena rushes over to Stefan and pushes Damon away from him.

She glares over to Damon with hatred filling her eyes, "Get out of here!"

Damon goes to stand up and fight back but I push him away even more, "Don't even try it!"

Alaric and Jenna arrive, both looking shocked at what has happened, "What the hell's going on?"

"Get him out of here!" Elena repeats shouting even louder.

"Oh my god." Jenna mumbles in shock.

Alaric walks towards Damon to help him up but Damon pushes him away. Alaric steps back holding his hands up. Damon gets up himself and I guide him out the room, "Come on."

"Okay, Jenna, downstairs are some blood bags. Go get them now. Go!" Alaric shouts over to Jenna, she rushes out of the room to go and grab them.

Damon and I walk into the library, he walks straight over to the drinks table and pours himself one. I walk in moving my arm around, my shoulder doesn't fully feel like it's back in place yet, a loud click happens, I sigh in relief as my shoulder is finally normal again.

"Well, it sounds like you won't be needing this anymore." Elijah says as he closes the lid on the wooden box he has the elixir in, "Feeding her vampire blood rendered it useless. Tell Elena I'll be back before nightfall. We'll proceed as planned." Elijah starts to walk out of the room.

"We all know that elixir wouldn't have worked anyway." Damon argues back as he shots the whole glass of bourbon.

Elijah stops in his step and turns to face us both, "Your problem, Damon...you talk a good game but you don't actually know anything. She'll never forgive you. And never for a vampire...is a very long time." Damon bows his head as he lets Elijah's words sink in, he immediately feels regret and so he bloody should.

Elijah looks over to me, "Please be here when I come back tonight, I would prefer it if you stayed by my side tonight so I know you're safe." I nod in agreement and Elijah then leaves.

Damon is still looking down at the floor, face full with remorse. I take the glass out of his hand and place it back on the table, "Clean yourself up. We're going to the grill." I grab my coat and we drive over to the grill.

--------------------------------------------------

Damon and I both walk into the grill, I glance over to see Matt staring at us. I politely smile at him but I get nothing but a glare back, uh okay then, a bit rude but whatever.

"How's the shoulder?" Damon asks as we both take a seat.

I lean over the bar and grab a full bottle of bourbon, "It will feel a lot better after we've drank this."

We are joined swiftly by Alaric who sits besides me so I'm now sat between them both, "I'll join you." Alaric says, I pass him a glass and fill it up.

Damon drinks the whole glass in one and sighs as he puts the glass back onto the counter, "I screwed up."

Alaric sighs, "Yeah. Yeah, you did."

I nod, "Just a little."

"Gentlemen." The voice I really did not want to hear right now, ugh fuck. As if hearing his name was bad enough, his voice literally makes the hairs on my skin stand up, "...and Lady...why so glum?"

I look over to Klaus who is looking just as smug as I remember. I sigh in annoyance and run my hand through my hair, this can seriously not be happening right now.

"Ugh." Damon groans as he hangs his head down for a second, "Klaus, I presume."

Klaus smirks, "In the flesh." He looks over to Alaric, "Thanks for the loaner, mate." He then looks over to me smirking again, "It's been a while, Lola."

Before I can say anything, Damon stands up, blocking Klaus from getting to me, he looks over to Klaus angry, "Any reason you stopped by to say hi?"

Klaus shrugs, "Well I've been looking for your sister for quite some time now, forgive me for enjoying finally finding her. I've also been told you and your brother fancy my doppelgรคnger." His expression turns serious, "Just thought I'd remind you to not do anything you'll regret."

Damon breaks into a smile at the irony of the comment, "Ha." Damon quickly glances back looking at Alaric and I, "Thanks for the advice. I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement, by any chance, huh?"

I groan as I face palm, please for the love of god Damon, just stop speaking.

Klaus laughs as he looks down, "You are kidding?" He looks over to me, "He is kidding, right?"

I shake my head as I laugh slightly, "No, not really."

Damon scoffs, "I mean, come on, what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?" Damon suggests.

Okay, this is my cue to leave. I'm not staying for the long awaited Damon and Klaus showdown, I down the rest of my drink and stand up, "Yeah, I'm not staying for this." I walk out of the grill, I walk down the stairs and try and get my breathing back to normal in the alley.

There's gust of wind in front of me, when I look up, Klaus is standing there just as smug as ever, "Has being in the same room as me again got you feeling all flustered, love?"

I smile over to him and laugh slightly, the smile vanishes as I glare over to him and push him against the opposite wall with my hand round his neck, "More like making me feel repulsed."

Klaus smirks in my hold, he easily gets out of it and spins me around so it's now me pressed against the wall, his hands on either side of the wall beside me, "Careful, sweetheart. Wouldn't want to get yourself hurt now would we." He whispers in my ear, the warmth of his breath on my skin gives me goosebumps on my neck.

Suddenly a sharp pain goes through my head, as though the blood vessels are popping, I scream out in pain as I grab the sides of my head, "What the hell?!" I scream out, I look up at the top of the stairs and there's some dumbass witch giving me a stupid witchy aneurysm, I start to laugh as I look back over to Klaus who is looking awfully proud of himself, "You getting stupid witches to do your dirty work now?!"

Klaus smirks as he still has his hands on either side of me on the wall, "That's enough, Greta." The witch stops her spell and I breathe out in relief as the pain has gone, Klaus looks up at her, "Is everything ready to go?"

Greta smiles down at Klaus, "Yes, love."

HA! She's calling him love? Wow.

"Then you know what you need to do." Klaus instructs Greta. She smiles and nods and then walks away.

I look at her in disgusted as she walks away, I look back over at Klaus who is looking amused, I give him the same disgusted look as I scoff, "What?"

"Jealous are we, love?" Klaus teases.

I look away from him as I sigh, I look back up at him with pleading eyes, "Yes, you're right I am." Klaus drops his hands from the wall and looks over at me stunned, I step towards him as he steps backwards, "I've missed you, Nik. I've missed us, I still love you. I always have." I cup his cheeks as I smile with tears forming, a hint of a smile appears on his face.

I remove my hands from his face and burst out laughing, Klaus looks at me confused which makes me laugh even more, "Aw your face." I pat his cheek and laugh again, "I got you." I start to walk away from him but then I turn to face him again, "You seriously bought that?" I shrug as I furrow my brows and rest my finger on my chin, "Hm, I really do need to win an oscar."

Klaus vamp speeds over to me and pins me against the wall again, wrapping his hand around my neck, anger showing on his face, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right here, right now."

I laugh slightly in his hold, "Well given your reaction just now, I would say you still care about me so I don't think you would kill me actually. But go right ahead, prove me wrong." I smirk at him, "Kill me." I whisper softly at him.

I look into his eyes as the anger builds and builds, trying to work himself up into actually killing me. His anger drops as he lets go of me and turns to face away from me.

I smirk, good to know I've still got this hold over him, "Nice effort. It was good to see you again, Nik." I vamp speed up the stairs to leave.

"You better not do anything to destroy tonight." Klaus says as he glares up at me.

I laugh slightly as I look back down at him, "Oh Nik you know me, I just love putting myself in situations I shouldn't." Before he can say anything else I vamp speed away and get back to the house.

As I walk in and shut the front door, I take a deep breath as though as I couldn't breathe until I got back here. I start to tremble over everything that has just happened, I may be able to act as though I don't care about Klaus but deep down I do.

----------------------------------------------------

3RD PERSON POV:

Damon is walking through the woods heading to the tomb. He grabs his phone out of his pocket and dials Lola's number.

Lola answers, "Hey, D."

Damon sighs in relief, he was worried Klaus may have done something to her, "Hey, where are you?"

"Back at the house. Why?"

"How quick can you get to the tomb?"

"Already on my way."

"See you soon, little sister." Damon hangs up and continues to walk through the woods. He arrives just outside the stairs leading into the tomb.

The witch, Maddox appears, "Which one are you trying to save? The blonde, or the wolf?" Damon turns to face him, Maddox looks over to him smug, "Did you really think Klaus would leave them unprotected?"

Damon shrugs, "Wishful thinking."

Damon rushes over to Maddox and pins him to the ground. Damon starts to strangle him but Maddox uses his powers and throws Damon back against the stone wall of the church ruins, Damon groans as he hits the wall and falls on the ground.

Maddox stands up and uses his powers to give Damon a witchy aneurysm, Damon screams out in pain and tries to fight the pain. Suddenly, there's a gunshot and Maddox falls to the ground revealing Matt standing behind him holding up a rifle. Damon vamp speeds over to Maddox and snaps his neck.

Damon looks over to Matt suspiciously, "What are you doing here?"

"Where's Caroline?" Matt demands as he steps closer to Damon.

Damon sighs, "Listen, man. Not a good time to play the hero."

Matt quickly cocks the rifle and points it at Damon, "Where is she? And what did he do to her?"

Damon puts his hands up in surrender and starts stepping forward slowly, "I'm just here to rescue her. Okay?"

Lola appears out of nowhere and vamp speeds over to Matt, she grabs the rifle out of his hands and hits him with the butt of the rifle. Matt falls to the ground unconscious. She clears the bullets out of the rifle and looks down at Matt's unconscious body, "You're lucky people in this town care about you, or you'd be dead." She looks over to her brother and smirks.

Damon smiles back at her, "Nice work, little sister."

Lola laughs as she shrugs, "I try."

Damon looks over to his sister concerned, "What happened to you earlier?"

Lola sighs, "Had a run in with Klaus, so I went home to drink everything in sight and then you messaged me so here I am."

"What happened?"

Lola scoffs, "Nothing important." Lola crouches down and picks up the bullets that were in Matt's rifle, she looks up to Damon and shows him the bullet, they're wooden, she laughs slightly, "Well this got interesting. You go down there and save them, I'll stay up here in case he wakes up and if there are any other witches lurking."

Damon nods and he heads down the stairs to get Caroline.

Caroline and Tyler are both on the floor chained up, Caroline looks over to Damon shocked, "Damon?"

Damon walks towards Caroline, "Your boyfriend's outside with a rifle loaded with wooden bullets." He crouches down so he is eye level with her, "You have some explaining to do."

Caroline looks shocked, "What, Matt?"

"Matt knows about you?" Tyler blurts out.

Caroline looks startled, "No, I..."

Damon rips the chains off her, "Shh. Tomorrow's problem. Why don't we just get you out of here?"

Caroline stands up as Lola walks into the tomb, "Matty blue eyes is starting to wake up."

"Lola?" Caroline looks over to her confused.

Lola smiles over to her sarcastically, "Hey, Caroline. Mind hurrying this up so we can get the hell out of here?"

Damon grabs Caroline's arm and starts to guide her out the tomb, "Let's go."

Caroline stops, causing Damon to stop also, "Wait, Damon. No! I'm not leaving without him."

Damon glares down at Tyler, "Ohhh. It's getting dark soon. How fast can you get the hell away from here?"

Tyler looks up at Damon expressionless, "I need to get to my family's cellar. I can lock myself up."

"I'll help." Caroline offers.

Damon goes over to Tyler and crouches in front of him, "Don't make me regret this." He breaks Tyler's chains and they all leave the tomb.

As they all make their way out of the tomb, it's already dark. A full moon is shining in the sky. Caroline rushes over to Matt who is slowly coming to, "Hey, Matt! Hey." She looks up and glares at Damon, "Did you hit him?!"

"Did you already forget about the part with the gun and the wooden bullets?" Damon reminds her, he looks over to his sister and smirks, "For once it wasn't me, that was the work of my lovely sister here."

Lola raises her hand up and laughs, "Guilty."

Caroline rolls her eyes as she helps Matt stand up. Tyler starts to groan and holds his chest, Caroline looks over to him concerned, "Tyler?"

Tyler looks up to the full moon as he continues to groans in pain, "It's starting."

Damon scoffs, "Ugh. Grab boy wonder and let's go."

"Come on." Caroline coos and continues to help Matt up and they all leave.

Damon stops walking and puts his arm out causing Lola to stop walking too, "What are you doing?" Lola asks looking up at her brother confused.

"You need to get back to the house." Damon says sternly, Lola is just about to answer back but Damon speaks before she can, "Don't even try to argue with me on this one, just go." Damon smiles softly down at his sister.

Lola smiles back and nods, "I'll see you soon." Lola then vamp speeds away and heads back to the house.

The rest of them all continue to rush through the woods, Tyler continues to groan in pain.

Matt looks over to his best friend concerned, "What's happening? Is he okay?"

Damon scoffs, "He better not wolf out on us." Damon's phone begins to ring, it's Stefan. Damon answers, the phone, "Bad time, little bro."

"What the hell are you doing?" Stefan snaps.

"Saving the day." Damon says sounding proud of himself, "I figured you'd understand. Just tell Elena to stay put."

Stefan sighs, "She's already gone, Damon."

Damon stops walking and looks shocked, "What?"

"Klaus came. He took her." Stefan says quietly.

Damon sigh in frustration, "I'll take care of it. Is Lola back yet?"

Just as Damon says that, Lola rushes through the front door to see Stefan and Alaric standing there, "Hey."

"She's just got here." Stefan says as he looks over to his sister, "We'll talk soon." He hangs up and walks over to his sister.

Lola looks at them both concerned, "What's going on? Where's Elena?"

Stefan looks away looking defeated, "She's with Klaus."
