SEASON FOUR, EPISODE FOUR
❝ 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 ❞

· · ─────── ·✦ʚɞ✦· ─────── · ·

Amelia and Dean stand in a window watching Sam and the woman from the hotel stand in front of a possessed man in a devil's trap, Sam seems to lose his temper with the demon and begins to force the demon out of the man. The demon smoke burns through the floor, and Sam breathes, trying to get himself under control. The woman looks down to the floor where the demon burned through and a little smile plays on her lips before she looks over at Sam, and they exchange a look bringing a small smile to Sam's face.

"Oh, Sammy, what have you gotten yourself into?" Millie whispered with a frown, Dean rested his hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently. Dean motions for the two of them to walk into the building where they eventually bump into Sam and the woman. "So... Anything you wanna tell us, Sam?" Dean asked as Sam stared at his older brother and twin sister with wide eyes. "Dean, hold on, okay? Just let me--" Sam was cut off by Dean, "You gonna say 'let me explain'? You're gonna explain this? How about this? Why don't you start with who she is and what the hell is she doing here?"

Dean looks at him hard, Sam turns back and looks at the woman who looks completely calm and even smiles as she responds to Dean, "It's good to see you again, Dean, Amelia." Amelia looked up with wide eyes, "Ruby?" She smiles a little and Dean looks at Sam, "Is that Ruby? You ditched our sister for Ruby?" Sam doesn't respond and Dean looks over at Ruby again whose smile is fading. After a moment, Dean grabs a hold of her and shoves her against the wall, he pulls out her knife and as he's about to strike, Sam grabs his hand. "Don't!" Sam shouted.

They struggle for the knife but Sam gets it out of Dean's hand into his own just as Dean throws him up against the wall. Ruby grabs Dean and pins him up against the wall he had her against seconds earlier. "Ruby! Stop it!" Sam ordered her. She just stares into Dean's eyes and she keeps a chokehold with her right hand and he stares right back, angry. Finally she lets go and he rises up to his full height, he looks over at Sam and then back at Ruby, "Well, aren't you an obedient little bitch?" Amelia bit back the laugh at her older brother's comment. Ruby doesn't respond but it's clear she wants to attack him again.

"Ruby," Sam called in hopes to get her attention, she stares at Dean for a few more moments and then looks over at Sam, "Ruby, he's hurt." He indicates the man who was possessed earlier. "Go," Sam instructs her. Ruby gives Dean one more look and then turns and walks over to the man, and as Dean watches her, she puts the mans arm over her shoulder ready to take him out. "Where the hell do you think you're going?" Dean asked her. "The ER... unless you want to go another round first," Ruby tells him. Dean doesn't say anything and she walks out with the man. Dean turns to look at Sam who's watching him, Amelia could feel the tension.

"Dean," Sam says but Dean walks to the door he came in through leaving Sam behind with Amelia. "Millie," Sam spoke but Amelia shook her head at her brother. "A demon... You left me behind to hang around with the demon who lied to us about Dean's fate... she used us and..." Amelia trailed off as she turned away from her twin, "I don't trust her, Sam. And you shouldn't trust her either." Sam watched as Amelia left, she spotted Dean waiting for her and got into the Impala. They were silent as they processed what they had learned but Amelia knew that Dean was beyond pissed with Sam and she didn't want to be trapped in the middle.

Dean pulls up to the motel, he and Amelia enter the motel room but both avoid Sam as they begin packing their bags. "Dean, Millie, what are you doing?" Sam asked the two but they continue to ignore him. "Mills..." Sam breathed out at his twin and she went to look at him but Dean handed her the journal to put in her bag. "What, are you--are you leaving?" Sam asked the two. "You don't need us. You and Ruby go fight demons," Dean replied to him. Dean grabs his and Millie's bags and moves towards the door but Sam stands in the way. Amelia looked up at Sam with a hurt expression as she took her bag from Dean.

Dean turns around and punches him in the face with his right hand, Sam whirls around by the force. Dean just watches him as he turns back around to Dean. "You satisfied?" Sam asked Dean who immediately hits him again and then throws his bag on the floor while Amelia shrunk back into the corner watching them. Sam touches his lip which is bleeding, "I guess not." Dean shook his head at Sam, "Do you even know how far off the reservation you've gone?! How far from normal? From human?" Sam sighed, "I'm just exorcising demons." Amelia hugged herself as Dean yelled, "WITH YOUR MIND!"

Dean noticed Amelia flinch and lowered his tone, "What else can you do?" Sam looked straight at Dean as he answered, "I can send them back to hell. It only works with demons and that's it." Amelia was shocked by this, she couldn't believe that he had blatantly lied about his abilities to her face the last time they had talked, he said they were gone. "What else can you do?!" Dean demanded, grabbing hold of him and pushes him backwards, walking with the force. "I told you!" Sam shouted, he pushes his hand away and they stop. "And I have every reason in the world to believe that," Dean told him in a mocking tone before he begins to walk away from Sam.

"Look, I should have said something," Sam spoke causing Dean to stop, his back still to Sam as he continued, "I'm sorry, Dean. I am. But try to see the other side here." Amelia raised a brow at that, Dean turns around and faces him, "The other side?" Sam nodded, "I'm pulling demons out of innocent people." Dean growled, "Use the knife!" Sam scoffed at that, "The knife kills the victim! What I do, most of them survive! Look, I've saved more people in the last five months than we save in a year." Amelia lowered her gaze at that, it seemed like it was good but everything in her screamed that it wasn't that simple.

"That what Ruby want you to think? Huh? Kind of like the way she tricked you into using your powers?" Dean asked him, he shakes his head, sad. "Slippery slope, brother. Just wait and see because it's gonna get darker and darker and God knows where it ends," Dean expressed to his brother. "I'm not gonna let it go too far," Sam attempted to reassure Dean. Dean smiles at that, he walks over to the wall and hits the lamp on the side table making it crash and fly; Amelia flinched. He turns to Sam with an angered face, "It's already gone too far, Sam." He walked closer to Sam, "If I didn't know you... I would wanna hunt you." Amelia looked down at those words while Sam's eyes are tearful, he nods at that before looking down. "And so would other hunters," Dean added.

Sam glanced at his twin who avoided his gaze, he turned back to Dean, "You were gone. I was here. I had to keep fighting without you. And what I'm doing... it works." Dean scoffed at that, "Well, tell me. If it's so terrific... then why'd you lie about it to me and Millie?" Sam looked down at those words while Amelia stepped forward to speak for the first time, "Why did an Angel tell us to stop you?" Sam looks up surprised by his twins' words, "What?" Dean nodded, "Cas said that if I don't stop you, he will. See what that means, Sam? That means God doesn't want you doing this. So, are you just gonna stand there and tell me everything is all good?"

With tearful eyes, they exchange a look and then Sam looks down. The silence is broken by Sam's phone ringing, Dean flinches at the sound. "Hello?" Sam greeted once he answered the phone, pinching the bridge of his nose in an attempt to collect himself. Dean walked over to Amelia, "Are you alright? I'm sorry for yelling." Amelia smile at her older brother, "It's okay. But what are we going to do?" Dean gave her an uncertain look before he pulled her into a hug as he watched Sam walk over to the bedside table and write something down. "We'll work something out," Dean promised Amelia as he pulled away. "Got a job," Sam told them.

The Impala zooms down the road with Dean driving and Sam in the passenger seat, Amelia sitting in the back reading their father's journal. Dean had told Sam about what he and Amelia found out in the past about their mom and family. "I can't believe it. Mom, a hunter?" Sam questioned in disbelief. "I wouldn't have believed it either if I hadn't seen it myself. That woman could kick some ass. I mean, she almost took me down. Millie takes after her," Dean expressed to Sam while Amelia grinned at the compliment. "How'd she look? I mean... was she happy?" Sam asked the two. "Yeah, she was awesome. Funny and smart, so hopeful," Amelia replied.

Dean looks over at Sam for a moment and then back to the road, "Dad, too. Until of course..." Amelia lowered her eyes at that, she chewed on her bottom lip as Sam sighed. "What?" Dean questioned him. Sam looks out his window, "Nothing." After a moment he turns back to Dean, "It's just... our parents. And now we find out our grandparents too? Our whole family murdered and for what? So Yellow Eyes could get in my nursery and bleed in my mouth?" Amelia looked out the window as she thought back to their encounter with Yellow Eyes, his words about how she was different and protected.

Dean furrowed his brows as he realised that he hadn't mentioned the demon blood yet, "Sam, I never said anything about demon blood." Sam looks guilty while Amelia glared at her brother, she immediately realised that he knew and never told them. "You knew about that?" Dean asked him though Sam avoids his eyes. "Yeah, for about a year," Sam answered him causing Dean's eyes to harden. "A whole year?" Dean asked as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. "I should have told you. I'm sorry," Sam replied while Amelia scoffed, she leaned back in her seat and looked out the window, she didn't know how to feel about Sam's secrets.

"You've been saying that a lot lately, Sam. But whatever. You don't want to tell me, you don't have to. It's fine," Dean expresses though Amelia could hear the hurt in his tone, she frowned as Sam looked over at her. "You're an adult, Sam. Do what you feel is best," Amelia said with an annoyed tone before she picked up her blanket and a book, she began reading ignoring Sam as he looked to and from his siblings before sighing, "Whatever." The car was trapped in a tense silence all the to Carthage, Missouri for their job.

Dean looks through the binoculars watching the man they knew as Jack Montgomery. "Are you sure that's him?" Dean questioned Sam. "Only Jack Montgomery in town," Sam answered him before Amelia spoke, "And we're looking for..." Sam sighed, "Travis said to keep an eye out for anything weird." Amelia furrowed her brows at that, "Weird?" Sam nodded. "Alright, well, yeah, I've seen big weird, little weird, weird with crazy on top. But this guy? I mean, come on, this guy's boring," Dean expressed to Sam. "I don't know, Dean. Travis seemed pretty sure," Sam told him before he takes up a pair of binoculars spotting the man devouring a heap of raw meat, "I'd say that qualifies as weird."

· · ─────── ·✦ʚɞ✦· ─────── · ·

Amelia, Dean and Sam walk through the door of their motel room, they stop as they've entered seeing something in their room, a smile comes to Dean's lips. "Travis," Sam greeted, the mentioned man was sitting by the table with a beer in hand. "See, Sam. Told you we should have hid the beer," Dean teased as Travis gets up with a smile, he walks towards the siblings as they move towards him. "Smartass. Get over here," Travis instructed Dean who moved in to embrace the man. "Ahh, good to see you," Travis tells him. "You too," Dean replied before they break the hug allowing Sam to hug Travis, "Man, you got tall, kid."

Amelia moved towards the older man with a smile, "Travis." He grinned at the girl and embraced her, "Amelia, you looked beautiful, sweetheart." Amelia grinned as they break apart. "How long has it been?" Travis questioned the three as they stood in front of him. "Ah, gotta be ten years," Sam answered him. "You still a... oh, what was it... a mathlete?" Travis asked Sam who scoffs, "No." Dean nodded, "Yep, sure is." Amelia laughed at them as she sat down on the bed with her legs crossed. "Been too long, kids. I mean, look at you. Grown adults. John would have been damn proud of you. Sticking together like this," Travis voiced.

"Yeah. Yeah, we're as thick as thieves," Dean replies as he looks at Sam whose smile is disappearing with Dean's words, "Nothing more important than family." Travis walks over to the table as Dean follows ignoring Sam. "Sorry I'm late for the dance," Travis tells them. They sit down at the table, Sam sits down on the bed next to Dean across from Travis leaving Amelia on the second bed to herself. "Thanks for helping out an old man. I'm a little, uh, shorthanded," Travis says as he indicates his right hand and arm which is covered in a cast.

"So, you track down Montgomery?" Travis asked the three. "Yeah, we found him at his home," Sam answered him instantly. "And?" Travis encouraged for it. "Well, he had a hell of a case of the munchies, topped off with a burger he forgot to cook," Dean answered Travis while Amelia grimaced. "That's him alright," Travis confirmed with a nod. "What's him?" Amelia asked. "Kids, we got a Rougarou on our hands," Travis told them causing Amelia to chew on her lip. "A Rougarou?" Dean asked as he looked at Sam for a second before turning back to Travis, "That sounds made up."

"They're mean, nasty little suckers. Rotted teeth, wormy skin, the works," Travis replied to Dean's comment. "Well, that ain't this guy. I mean, he was wearing a cell phone on his belt," Dean expressed to Travis. "He'll turn ugly soon enough. They start out human for all intents and purposes," Travis tells them. "So what? They go through some kind of metamorphosis?" Sam asked the older man who was clearly more experienced. "Yep, like a maggot turning into a bull fly," Travis answers with a stoic expression, "But most of all, they're hungry." Amelia furrowed her brows at that, "Hungry for what?"

"At first... for everything, but then... for long pig," Travis answers her. Sam exhales at that understanding what Travis meant, Amelia lowers her eyes and shakes her head feeling pity for the man who possibly had no clue about his fate. Dean looks confused, "Long pig?" Amelia sighed as she looked up at her older brother, "He means human flesh, Dean." Dean nods in disgust, "And that is my word of the day." Travis looks between the three Winchesters, "Hunger grows in, till they can't fight it. Till they got to take themselves a big, juicy chomp, and then it happens." Sam looked at the older man, "What happens?" Travis' eyes darken, "They transform completely and fast."

"One bite's all it takes. Eyes, teeth, skin; all turns. No going back either. They feed once, they're a monster forever. And our man Jack's headed there on a bullet train," Travis explained to them in hopes to help them understand the severity of the situation. "Well, how'd you find this guy if he's a walking, talking human?" Dean asked the older man. "Let's just say it runs in his family," Travis answered him. "You mean, uh..." Sam trailed off as Travis spoke, "Killed his daddy back in '78. Son of a bitch mangled 8 bodies before I put him down. Guy used to be a dentist. Cadillac, trophy wife... Little did I know, pregnant trophy wife. She put the boy up for adoption. By the time I found out, he was long gone, lost in the system."

"You mean to tell me you couldn't find someone?" Amelia asked knowing how ruthless Travis was as a hunter, if he wanted to track you down, he would. "I'm not sure I wanted to. The idea of hunting down some poor kid... I don't think I'd have the heart. No. I wanted to wait, make damn sure I had the right man. Apparently, I do," Travis replied with a sigh, he takes a swig of his beer while the Winchesters thought it over. "Alright, then we stop him," Dean said before furrowing his brows and looking at Travis, "How do we stop him?" Amelia reached for her bag and made her way out leaving the boys despite Dean's calls for her.

Amelia sat at a bar counter with a glass of whiskey in front of her, she was focused on the journal in front of her, a pen in her hand. "You alright, darling?" The bartender asked as he cleaned a glass with his rag. "Just conflicted," Amelia replied before looking up at him. "Maybe a stranger can help you," He offered before holding out his hand, "Lucien." Amelia smiled as she shook his hand, "Amelia." He nodded before pouring himself a glass, "What's the conflict?" Amelia chewed on her bottom lip before closing her journal and looking up at Lucien. "My older brother just came back -- to town -- and my twin brother -- who had ditched me for a girl -- are fighting and I feel like I'm trapped in the middle," Amelia expressed.

"That definitely sounds like it sucks," Lucien replied making her laugh. "Uh, yeah. And we're working a job but I'm not sure how to view it. On one hand, the guy we are watching seems like an ordinary guy who happens to, uh, have a few mental troubles but on the other, lives are at literal risk if we don't do something about him," Amelia sighed before running her fingers through her hair, "And this may seem confusing for you but working a case has its confidential factors." Lucien winked, "It's fine by me, Darling. But it sounds to me that maybe you should confront your brothers and if they don't listen, maybe you need to focus on you."

Amelia really took in Lucien's words, she picked up her glass and sipped it as Lucien continued, "And as for the case you're working. Maybe this guy isn't as bad as it may seem, maybe he just needs help from someone who knows what they're doing." Amelia grinned at Lucien's words, "You know what, you're right. Thank you, Lucien." The two raised their glasses before downing them, Amelia grabbed her things and looked up at him, "I really appreciate the help." Lucien smirked at her, "It's what I'm here to do." They said their farewells before Amelia left, she didn't look back to see Lucien transform into someone else with a familiar face, "Always here, Amelia."

· · ─────── ·✦ʚɞ✦· ─────── · ·

"You went to talk to him without me?" Amelia asked her brothers as they walked towards the Impala from Jack's home, she was leaning against it with her arms crossed. "Well, you took off without us," Dean replied making her sigh. "I went for a drink. Got tired of you two clashing when we need to be focused on other things like the seals and helping Jack," Amelia replied without fear, "The secrets are clearly problematic but hey, we all have secrets." The two boys noticed the double meaning in her voice but chose not to question it. "But I'd be right to assume that Jack didn't listen, huh?" Amelia asked them, both shook their heads.

"Damn..." Amelia muttered before she looked down and thought of Lucien's words, she shook her head and grabbed her bag. "Uh, no. You're not leaving again," Dean told his sister. "I have an idea," Amelia told them before she made her way past the boys and towards her motorbike. "When did you get that?" Sam asked Amelia. "After you ditched me, I set up a few safe houses around our most common hits. Got myself a bike and a few cars under different names with Bobby and Rufus' help," Amelia answered him before she got on, "I may have a way to help Jack, just keep Travis away from him." She pulled on her helmet and took off.

It was a long ride but she finally found what she had been looking for and with the answers she needed, she headed back to hopefully save Jack Montgomery. However her luck wasn't that kind as she had returned in time to see Travis had Michelle and Jack tied up. "Travis, wait!" Amelia shouted as she walked inside. "Stay out of this, Amelia. We have a job to do," Travis told her. "There's another way. Others that are like Jack, a place where he can go to learn how to adapt to his life," Amelia replied to him as she held her arms up in surrender. "There is no adapting, Amelia. He's a monster," Travis told her sternly, "And she's carrying his parasite."

Amelia looked at Michelle who was pleading for her help with her eyes, the look was enough to make Amelia's heart break. "Don't do this, Travis. Give him a chance," Amelia pleaded with the older man she always viewed as an uncle, "And if he slips up, the community in Montana will deal with it but he won't." Travis frowned at her, "I can't make this mistake all over again. I won't be around in 30 years, this has got to end now. I know you don't believe me, but I'd give anything not to have to do this." Amelia stepped forward protectively in front of Michelle when Travis moves forward. "I'm taking the hunt, Travis. Leave me to do this," Amelia asked him.

"You're father would be disappointed, Amelia," Travis told her. "That's nothing new, Travis. He was always disappointed," Amelia replied as she ignored the pit in her stomach. "If you want to kill me, kill me, but not my wife. Okay? I'm begging you," Jack pleaded from where he was cuffed, the words stung Amelia who wanted nothing more than to help them. "Not all monsters do monstrous things, Travis," Amelia told the older man. "No?" Travis asked before he grabbed Amelia's arm and pulled her closer to Jack. "What are you doing?" Amelia asked him with wide eyes as he pulled out a knife and lightly cut her arm.

"I'm proving my point," Travis said as he held her arm in front of Jack whose eyes locked on the blood immediately, they seemed to fade in and out in an animalistic way. "Fight it, Jack," Amelia said gaining his attention on her, "You can fight it." Jack took steady breaths before locking gazes with Michelle who was nodding in agreement with Amelia's words. "See Travis, he can fight," Amelia told Travis who sighed before he pushed a cloth to Amelia's mouth, she struggled in his grip as he held her. "I'm sorry, Amelia. But I won't make the same mistake. I won't," Travis whispered as Amelia gave in to the chemicals and passed out.

· · ─────── ·✦ʚɞ✦· ─────── · ·

Travis walks around with the can, emptying it. Desperate, Jack begins to pull on his handcuffs again. "Jack!" Michelle screamed as she looked over at Amelia lying on the couch. Jack's eyes become bloodshot as he continues to struggle and finally, Jack breaks the chain between the cuffs. He jumps on Travis right away, pushing him to the floor. Sitting on top of him, Jack begins to hit Travis; Travis hits back after two hooks from Jack and Jack falls to floor. Travis moves over and sits over him hitting him hard on the chest with his arm in a cast while Michelle watches in terror. "Jack!" Michelle shouts fearfully.

Travis hits him again and then when he goes for a third hit, Jack captures his arm and breaks the cast causing Travis to scream out in pain. Jack throws him to the floor and then gets on top of him, moving his arms away. He hears a heavy heartbeat and Jack's eyes are completely bloodshot. He holds Travis in a choke hold with one hand and then rips away Travis' shirt with the other, exposing his shoulder and neck. Jack watches as the blood pumps beneath the surface of Travis' throat and then he goes in for the kill, biting down. Travis screams out in pain as Jack rips a part of his throat away with his teeth and sits up again, and chews on the piece of skin.

Travis bleeds out quickly, leaving a big pool of blood underneath him. Jack just chews away on the piece he just ripped from Travis. Michelle watches all this in shock. Jack goes in for another bite, and Travis dies. Jack is taking the second bite when his face begins changing, becoming ugly and contorted. Michelle just stares, in shock and terror. Suddenly Jack whips around and looks at her, his face completely covered in Travis' blood. He turns around and then stands up. He walks over to Michelle, who's scared and crying now, and he squats down next to her. He frees her and she jumps out of the chair quickly and moves away from him. "Stay away from me!" Michelle ordered him before she glanced at Amelia and then bolts out the door.

Jack turns his head to Amelia, he frowns as he looks in his reflection before focusing back on Travis' body that was practically screaming his name. It isn't long before Sam and Dean show up and face their own battles against Jack, Sam being the one to end his suffering. Amelia groaned as Dean shook her awake, she looked around until her eyes landed on the remains of Travis and then the remains of Jack. "I tried..." Amelia breathed out, "I keep failing..." Amelia pushed Dean away as she walked by her brothers with her head lowered, she headed out of the home and got onto her bike leaving the boys behind.
