Home.

Athena's mouth hangs open when walking into the house. "You guys wrecked this place!"

Sam and Dean didn't want Athena getting hurt with the Poltergeist, so they had her join Jenny and her kids at the movies. They watched Cheaper By the Dozen 2.

"What happened?" Jenny asks.

"Yeah—Hi. Sorry." Sam gives the woman a bashful smile. "Um, we'll—we'll pay for all of this."

Dean pulls his brows together, he opens his mouth to object, but Athena shushes him. "Just let it happen."

"Don't you worry." Missouri speaks. "Dean's gonna clean this mess up."

Athena looks at her eldest brother and watches the confusion across his face. Missouri turns fo Dean.

"Well, what are you waiting for, boy? Get the mop." Missouri orders.

Dean's face scrunches up.

"And don't cuss at me!"

Athena shakes her head, "Ya see, I tell him that all the time Miss Missouri." She points at her brother. "And he never listens."

Dean's mouth hangs open and Sam laughs.

"He needs a swear jar." Missouri sighs.

Athena's mouth hangs open, "That's what I said!"

"All right, Chucky—enough." Dean mushes the side of Athena's face and she stumbles to the side.

While Dean cleans the room, Athena sat next to Missouri.

"Miss Missouri, can I ask you something?" Athena lightly kicks her legs that were hanging off the couch.

"What is it, sweetie?" Missouri looks at the girl whose eyes were on the ground.

Athena furrows her brows, thinking about her question. "Did my dad ever talk to you about me? About my mom?"

Missouri feels the bright yellow aura around Athena slowly morph into a sad blue-grey. "I'm sorry, Athena. He's never said anything to me."

Athena lets out a defeated breath and nods her head. "Right, yeah...I'm not surprised. Just disappointed—I guess."

Missouri pulls her brows together. "You need to get those dark thoughts out of your head."

Athena raises her brows, confused.

"You're not a half-blooded burden," Missouri says. "Your father, no offense—is a no-good drunk who only has revenge on his mind."

Athena's jaw goes slack.

Someone had to say it.

"That's why I did, sweetheart." Missouri gives her a light-hearted wink.

Athena smiles, "Thank you..." she scratches the side of her neck. "...I don't know, but my thoughts just trail off and the weirdest things pop into my head—even when I don't mean it."

"What about when you do mean it?" Missouri pulls her brows together.

Athena sinks into her seat and presses her lips into a firm line. "I don't like my thoughts." She whispers, her eyes starting to burn. "They scare me."

Missouri's chest tightens and she feels sympathy for the 10-year-old girl. "They can get mean and make me...sad or make me angry at other people."

"Listen to me, sweetheart..."

Athena forces herself to look at the woman's soft expression.

"When you get those kinds of thoughts. You just have to remember that you are in control of your body—no one else." Missouri advises. "I want you to focus your awareness on the world around you. Keep those thoughts at bay, ya hear me?"

Athena pulls her brows together, but she nods her head. "Can I hug you?"

Missouri lets out a small breath, she holds her arms out and Athena wraps her arms around Missouri's waist.

"So...why are we still here?"

Sam exhales a breath. "I don't know, I-I just—I still have a bad feeling."

Athena pulls her brows together. "But Miss Missouri said everything was okay."

"Yeah, probably, but I just want to make sure. That's all." Sam shrugs.

"Yeah, well, the problem is I could be sleeping in a bed right now." Dean leans back in his seat, his eyes closing.

Athena looks at her book and flashes her light on it.

Sam's eyes widen from the sight in the window of the house. "Guys!"

Athena quickly looks up from the alert tone of Sam's voice. Her eyes follow Sam's and her heart drops into her stomach. The siblings quickly get out of the car and run towards the house.

"You grab the kids, I'll get Jenny—Athena stay outside!"

The girl quickly stops and stands in the grass on the lawn. "But—"

"Stay there!" Sam and Dean chorus, running into the house.

Athena inhales a deep breath, she taps her foot. "Is this an intrusive thought?"

No, it's one of your genius ones! Run in there!

"Okay!" Athena sprints into the house and looks around the area. She hears screams from upstairs and her breathing quickens. She runs up the stairs and towards the screaming.

Athena's eyes land on Sari, who was clutching her blanket while the fire spirit was walking towards her.

"Get away from her!" Athena shouts.

The fire being stops and turns to the auburn-haired girl. Athena's jaw goes slack and she lets out a nervous chuckle. "I mean—I didn't...mean it...?"

Athena runs toward Sari and grabs her hand. "Come on!" She pulls Sari off the bed and they both sprint out of the room.

Sam's eyes widen seeing his sister running down the hall. "Athena, we told you—"

"No time—we gotta go!" Athena shouts running down the stairs. Sam runs with Richie in his arms after the two girls.

The four make it down the stairs. Sam says, setting Richie down.

"All right, Sari. Take your brother outside as fast as you can and don't look back." Sam says.

A chill rushes down Athena's spine. Her eyes widen as she feels something grab her ankles. Athena's stomach slams against the tiles and she is pulled down the hall.

"SAM!!!"

Sam turns around and his stomach drops. "ATHY"

He runs toward his little sister.

Athena claws at the ground and touches the walls, hoping to stop the force pulling her. She slams into the chairs and her back hits the counters.

"This was not a genius thought..." Athena groans, and slowly rolls around in pain.

"Athy, Athy—hey." Sam crouches down and touches the girl's face.

Athena flinches and pulls away from him. Her eyes focus on her brother's face and she relaxes. "Sam."

"Who else would it be?" Sam chuckles softly.

Before the girl could reply, Sam is flung into the wall, cracking it.

"NO—"

"Stay there!" Sam groans.

Athena pulls her brows together and her breathing quickens. Sam is flung onto the ground and he lets out a cry of pain. Sure it hurt like hell, but as long as Athena wasn't getting hurt; Sam would take any amount of pain he had to.

Sam forces himself onto his feet, but he is slammed back into the wall once again.

"Sam—"

Athena suddenly feels a force push her body onto the floor. Her chest pinned against the tiles of the floor, unable to move. The girl winces from the heavy gravity against her.

"SAM! ATHENA!"

Dean breaks down the rest of the door. "GUYS?!"

He enters the room, seeing Sam pinned against the wall and Athena pinned on the floor. Dean's eyes catch sight of the figure on fire and he aims his shot gun at it, ready to fire.

"No, don't! Don't!"

"What? Why?!" Dean shouts.

"Because I know who it is." Sam says softly. "I can see her now."

The fire slowly dissipates from the figure, revealing a blonde haired woman.

Athena pulls her brows together. "What? What's going on?" She looks up at the woman and she tilts her head.

"Mom?" Dean whispers.

"Oh." Athena watches as Mary's spirit talks to her children. Tears form in Athena's eyes seeing the expressions on Sam and Dean's face. Mary's voice was so soothing, it made Dean feel like he was 4 again.

Mary turns away from her sons.

"You, get out of my house." Mary says, staring up. "And let of my son and the girl."

Mary bursts into flames, disappearing. Athena suddenly feels the force on her body disappear and she exhales a sharp breath.

"Now, it's over."

"Well, there are no spirits in there anymore, this time for sure." Missouri sits next to Athena and Sam on the porch steps.

"Not even my mom?" Sam asks.

Missouri gives Sam a sympathetic smile before answering. "No."

"What happened?"

"Your mom's spirit and the Poltergeist's energy, they cancelled each other out." Missouri explains. "Your mom destroyed herself going after the thing."

"Why would she do something like that?" Sam asks.

"Because she's your mom." Athena speaks. "A mom is supposed to do anything for you."

The girl pulls her brows together. "At least...I think that's what a mom is supposed to do." She lets out a small chuckle, the pain obvious in her voice.

Missouri looks at the two siblings. "I'm sorry, you two."

"For what?"

"You sensed it was here, didn't you?" Missouri questions. "Even when I couldn't."

"What's happening to me?" Sam asks.

Athena's eyes soften.

"I know I should have all the answers, but...I don't know." Missouri answers.

"Guys, you ready?"

Sam and Athena look at their older brother. "Yeah, we're coming!"

Athena stands up along with Sam and Missouri. The girl turns to the psychic. "It was nice meeting you, Miss Missouri."

Missouri chuckles softly, she wraps her arms around the girl. "I am gonna miss you, Miss Athena."

Athena giggles and hugs the woman back. "I'll see you again. I promise."

"You better keep that promise." Missouri separates from the girl.

"Miss Missouri..." Athena holds her pinky out. "I pinky promise."

Missouri raises her brows. "You don't go back in a pinky promise, you know?"

Athena arches one of her eyebrows. "Oh, I know that."

Missouri pulls her brows together, but her eyes then widen and her mouth hangs open. "Sam Winchester—you broke a pinky promise?!"

Sam tenses up, "Uh—I...I mean—"

"He did." Athena nods. "But he's trying to make up for it."

Missouri squints her eyes at Sam and he stands awkwardly while waving.

Athena and Sam walk over to the car.

"You three don't be strangers." Missouri calls out.

"We won't."

"See you around."

Athena waves at Missouri, a smile on her face. But the girl stops and pulls her brows together; getting an uneasy feeling. She felt unsafe like she had to be alert. Like when John was around.

"Earth to Athena."

The girl blinks and she looks at her brothers.

"You ready?" Dean asks.

Athena looks back at Missouri, noticing the psychic's tense expression.

"Yeah..." Athena pushes down the eery feeling. She wanted to tell them what she was feeling. But then she remembered the past months with her brothers. She was so happy with how everything was. And she knew as soon as John came back everything would come crashing down. So, the girl kept quiet about her worries.

"...I'm good to go."

The Winchester's get into the Impala and drive away from the house.

Missouri makes it back to her home, closing the door behind her.

"That boy...he has such powerful abilities." Missouri speaks. "Why he couldn't sense his own father, I have no idea."

Missouri walks over to the room and stands in the doorway entrance, staring at John.

"But that girl...she felt it." Missouri squints her eyes. "I could see the fear in her eyes when she realized it was you."

John tenses thinking about his children.

"She must not like you very much if she didn't say anything about you being here." Missouri quips. "I don't blame her—"

"Are you done?" John cuts the woman off.

"John Winchester, I could just slap you." Missouri snaps. "Why don't you go talk to your children?"

"I want to, all right?" John says. "You have no idea how much I want to see them."

John thinks about each of his kids. He wanted to see how they were doing, but he knew he had to hold off until he figured out everything he needed to know. The man felt like he should trust that his kids have everything under control. But he also, didn't feel confident in their abilities to be on their own. Especially with Athena by their side.

"I'm a psychic." Missouri deadpans. "I know how much you want to see them."

"But I can't." John continues. "Not yet. Not until I know the truth."

Missouri rolls her eyes, "So dramatic—I swear." She walks away. "Close the door on your way out."
