There are people in this world that love everyone.

They see the good in others, no matter how much shit they've been through. It can be unbearable sometimes, but it can also fill another person with envy. Having such an optimistic look on a world that was filled with manipulation, violence, and prejudice. It was impressive. Really.

But have you ever met anyone that hates people, saw how shit the world is, but still sees the best in the boy that broke her heart?

Gus West wasn't always your average brooding hot-headed teenager.

She was someone that everyone could get along with. If they were deserving of it. The people close to Gus made her feel that way. Her parents, Nancy, Jonathan, Fallon and Steve.

Steve. He was the one that made her feel special. And Gus couldn't have been more grateful and happier with her life.

That was until her family fell apart. First it was her mom, her mind had been lost for the longest time, but there were times when she was still present. But one tragic night, she ran off the road, her life ending instantly. After that everything was a blur to Gus. Literally. Then her father buried himself in his work. And when he couldn't do that, he went to serve his country. He continued to do so, until his life was taken from him.

Leaving Gus alone.

She shut down, and wasn't the same girl that everyone wanted to be friends with. She was 'freak number two' or 'the troublemaker'. And as soon as the nicknames started going around, everyone started believing them.

Even Gus.
