There is a mythical lamp that holds untold fortunes for those who seek its power, but the lamp holds a secret: for each genie, there is a shadow jinn that follows. The djinn's shadow is designed to corrupt those who are unworthy of the lamp and sway masters to fall under their control.

But there are some shadow djinn who do more than control just the owner of the lamp. There are those that choose to control everyone and these shadowy creatures are far for dangerous as they can manipulate even those who are out-of-their-own-reach.

Over eons, the djinn and its shadow have become pit against each other to preserve/destroy the minds of anyone who claims the lamp for themselves. When a war caused by the previous King ends up leading to the massacre of the djinn, the heroes from the last generation [Nightflutter, Turtle Titan, Timekeeper and the Siren siblings] switched sides in the middle of the war to save the remaining djinn.

When the heroes and the grand djinn learned the King used a enhanced oil lamp to bring his wish to reality, the grand djinn hid the lamp out of fear for what tragedies could come from the mythical relic, even though that meant hiding the djinn and its shadow.

For extra protection, the heroes hid this lamp [at the request of the grand djinn] in a cave that the mythical Timekeeper enchant to appear with each decade. As such, the Siren siblings created a scabbard which would allow the cave to rise. In addition, the grand djinn cursed the cave to only recognize the diamond in the rough by a crystal pendant that would grant the worthy one access.

But for those who were considered unworthy by the cave (on the account of the grand djinn's standards) had a chance to leave. But if they were unworthy and attempted to enter the cave of arcanum anyways, they were to became devoured by the cave itself, never to be seen (or heard from) again.

Lots of Avalonians chose to embark upon a journey to seize this lamp for themselves and lives were lost in the process. As more and more became lost to the arcanum cave, others were starting to become discouraged to seek out this lamp. Soon, less took the story seriously. Soon, Avalonians turned the cave to a cautionary tale for those who seek out the lamp.

But little did they know: the tale would one day come true.

TROUBLE NEVER SLEEPS.

When Castor attempts to go on a date with Aliya, her siblings tag along as the four end up in Paris just in time to experience the festival in honor of the missing princess from the royal Agreste family.

However when Castor indirectly spots someone from his past and doesn't return, Aliya and her siblings decide to go search for him, especially given how the four Avalonians have limited time before the last portal back to Avalon closes for the night [as Aliya and her siblings weren't ready to physically stay on the human realm].

In the midst of their search for the missing knight, the three siblings decide to split up to cover more ground. While Jaxon and Lillian take to the higher sights, Aliya decides to tackle the lower areas, seeing how she couldn't really teleport or do anything in that department of magic.

But when Aliya encounters a djinn named Zaina during her search and becomes her friend, she is given a prophecy and a pendant. When the djinn tries to warn the girl about her master, the two are greeted by a mysterious sorcerer, who forces Zaina to come to his side as her master.

When the sorcerer duplicates himself in an effort to trick the girl, Aliya meets Florian, who directly activates her powers. With these powers, she finds the real sorcerer, who aims a sword in her direction, referring to himself as Cyril Mirage, otherwise known as Castor's father.

When the two are greeted by Aliya's siblings and Castor, Cyril gives the seeker some cryptic information before leaving. When the four return back to Avalon, Aliya and her siblings lightly scold the knight for leaving but are mainly relieved to know he's back.

After her siblings leave, Castor tries to convince Aliya that he needs to stay away from her, but she is able to talk him into staying. With a promise, he teleports her back home and attempts to have a moment [which is ruined by the girl's family, who all made bets] before the two ultimately part ways.

A year later, Aliya and her siblings reunite with Chepi and encounter Prince Marcus in the marketplace. While witnessing Princess Nancy of the Light Kingdom lead a protest against Ambrose, Aliya is arrested โ€” or so, the officer on duty thinks. Despite the girl's head start, she is forced to give herself up when Marcus is on the verge of getting hurt.

Thrown into a prison cell, Aliya is face-to-face with Ambrose, who hasn't forgotten what she did to him. When Ambrose makes her an offer to find the lamp for him, she refuses to assist the false faerie. As a result, she is sentenced to be 'executed' on the account of 'betraying' her home.

Luckily for the young wingless faerie, Aliya is able to escape her execution (thanks in part to Castor's bracelet), much to Ambrose's annoyance.

As such when she's reunited with her siblings, Chepi and Castor, she is surprised when Marcus offers her a personal invitation to the Avalon Gala (a prestigious event that can only be attended by high-class elite members of Avalonian society, knights who are part of Crownsguard and other socialist royals within Avalon) as his token of appreciation for saving his life.

Naturally, Aliya is stoked about the invitation but when she learns the event occurs on the night of the annual festival and Atticus believes the cave of arcanum will activate on the same night as well, she's reluctantly stuck with missing the festival and the gala to settle her deal.

However on the night of the gala and the festival, Aliya stealthily sneaks out from the mage's watchful eyes, believing that if she spent a few hours for each event, she could make it back in time that Atticus wouldn't suspect a thing.

In true Avalonian fashion, Aliya [with the help of her siblings, her parents, her aunt and Chepi] is able to arrive at the gala, where she and Chepi are reunited with Prince Rhys, their old friend. While the three catch up and address the past without communication, Rhys and Aliya are able to come to terms of their situation.

With the two making up and Chepi being on the same page, the three are able to join together as friends again. In the process, Aliya bumps into Iris (who is uncomfortable around her date, Jesse), who is surrounded by Ember, Crystallia and Delilah... who happens to be the girl's cousin and Castor's ex.

So when Castor sees his crush and his ex together, it becomes rather awkward when Delilah admits that Aliya is her cousin as the nature [flower-oriented] faerie ends up talking poorly about the unwanted mistake.

Not wanting to stick around to hear what else Delilah has to say about her, Aliya leaves, deciding her time at the gala has been spent. However when she is joined by Castor, the two share a brief moment before she is startled by visions of the cave of arcanum rising.

Realizing she wouldn't have time to attend the festival, Aliya tries to go but when her iron marker glows, she is abruptly transported to Atticus, who is both annoyed and somewhat amused by the girl's efforts to trick him.

Together the mage and the faerie begin to track down the lamp but when the duo are followed and Atticus's curse starts to kick in, Aliya is forced to work overtime to ensure their safety. Yet, to her surprise, her pendant [that she received from a djinn] begins to glow and soon, her and Atticus are transported directly to the cave of arcanum with the mage's curse even being temporarily lifted.

However upon entering the arcanum cave, Aliya realized that Atticus forgot to mention she would be facing obstacles. So accompanied by a magic carpet, she is surprised when Castor is able to teleport directly inside the cave and only when she realizes that she had his bracelet does it click.

Together, the two [and the magic carpet] face the obstacles and arrive at the room where the magic lamp is secured. While Aliya is able to retrieve the lamp, Castor is influenced by the cave to touch the forbidden treasure and despite the carpet's best efforts to stop him, he succeeds.

Unfortunately by the time Castor is able to snap out of the cave's influence, the damage is done as the cave begins to deteriorate. Realizing the cave will destroy itself from the inside with the two, Castor tries to teleport but in touching the forbidden treasure, the cave punishes him by absorbing the knight's powers [which can only be undone by the knight making a selfless sacrifice].

As such, the magic carpet ends up flying Castor and Aliya to safety, only for the two to briefly reunite with Jaxon and Lillian. Yet when Atticus demands the lamp, Aliya starts to oblige, only for her siblings to stop their sister when the two indirectly spot a dagger in his robe.

So when Atticus goes to attack Jaxon and Lillian (for exposing him), Castor and Aliya quickly intervene by attacking him. In the process, the lamp falls in the middle of the fight, causing Aliya and Atticus to race for the lamp.

Yet when Aliya's pendant glows as Atticus makes his first wish, Castor and the girl's siblings try to keep her grounded. Unfortunately, the three also get caught in the act and not long after, the five are teleported to a new version of Avalon.

While Atticus happily obtains the riches of his first wish, he still acquires more and tries to find way to gain access to the lamp again, even if it comes at the expense of his curse.

On the other hand, Castor, Aliya and her siblings remain reunited together but uh, not for long. While Castor and Aliya were able to retrieve the lamp, the knight and the faerie end up collapsing from the injuries they sustained from Atticus during the fight, forcing Jaxon and Lillian to find shelter in the new Fairytopia.

However, Jaxon and Lillian find lots of things have changed since Atticus made his first wish. Yet, things only get stranger when Castor and Aliya fully recover where the four discover a underground resistance with Iris and Ambrose participating in the mission to overthrow King Atticus.

As the four make friends and enemies in the new Avalon, it's going to take willpower to get back home.

However when the djinn [named Giselle] comes to life and slowly starts to become part of the core four, their mission gets complicated when Castor falls under the influence of the lamp as its new owner [as Aliya isn't allow to make wishes, given her diamond in the rough status and her siblings decline the offer].

While trying to steer the knight in the right direction, things only go downhill as the fight against Atticus persists. When things turn for the worse and a unlikely candidate obtains the lamp from the group, it's a battle to reclaim the lamp, free the new Avalon and finally go back home. Despite the road to home being tough, the four are ready for the challenge.

Unfortunately for Aliya and her siblings, a terrible surprise awaits the three that will change the dynamic between the family... forever.

Although Disney's Aladdin is not without its controversies, I would like to point out, I'll do my best to avoid the stereotypes that occurred in the animated film [I don't think the live-action has any, but I could be wrong]. It should be noted that the movie itself only serves as inspiration since this book will follow an original plot. I just wanted to throw this out here because it felt necessary.

Although this book serves as a sequel to Part of Your World, it will be a standalone, so no, none of you actually need to read the first book to understand this one. However, Part of Your World will be referenced and minor spoilers will (and can) occur [but a recap will be given at a later time].

As established, this sequel [Secrets of the Lamp] is a retelling of Disney's Aladdin [mostly animated but some aspects of the live-action version will be applied] because well I've been feeling Disney lately. However, it should be noted that just like Part of Your World, this book will not be a carbon copy (i.e.: copy and paste) of the movie (animated and/or live action).

Additionally, this is all of the cast regarding this book. Should things change, I will update the casting list.

Aliya and everyone else (excluding the adults) are relatively young adults here, making the age range of 17-21. As a result, the topics going into this book shouldn't be too dark, but just take my word with a grain of salt. Trigger warnings will be posted in front of the desired chapter should something occur.

If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to ask and let me know! I don't bite, I promise! I'll do my best to respond to you as soon as possible. Thank you all again and I will see you all in the next update! Enjoy and stay safe, my little miraculers and akumas! ^^

Note: The animated gifs are NOT mine! I am not capable of owning these amazing gifs. Credit goes to its respective media and the creator of the gif. Furthermore, the changes I made in the book (regarding the casting) will be reflected in their character's bio, so be on the lookout for some changes.

Additionally, I do not own the quotes from Disney's Aladdin. As such, the quotes from both movies strictly belong to Disney and the creators of Aladdin themselves. I only used selective quotes as a mere reflection of the characters (to an extent).

On the other hand, I do not own any of the listed characters: Stormy, Poseidon, Prince Rhys, Chepi, Ember and Princess Nancy as these characters all belong to GeekyCookie1.

As established in the last author's note for Part of Your World, GeekyCookie1 owns the names of these five fallen heroes [Nightflutter, Turtle Titan, Timekeeper and the Siren siblings]. I, however, will own everything else related to these five heroes [with creative input from GeekyCookie1, should she have ideas of her own for the original heroes] in terms of this timeline only!

Lastly, this book is dedicated to these lovely people:
