Valaena and Jacaerys never got along: one might say because of rivalry between their mothers, but others may say of pure despite. If you would ask Jacaerys, he would say she's evil, that her mother must have let her fall down the stairs when she was a babe making her so annoying and big-headed. Valaena would say differently: for her, Jace was someone whom she should not associate with, someone whose blood is infectious, nasty, and not natural. She wanted to stay as far away from him as possible. At least that was what her brother Aegon told her.

But as the years go by, both grew up, becoming young adults in a court full of conspiracy, betrayals, and a house slowly dividing itself in two. And even though Valaena tries so hard not to even spare a second thought about it, she cannot deny the sudden heartbeat every time Jace is in the room, her breath taken away when he talks to her, her nerves overcoming her when he makes eye contact.
She cannot feel any emotion for Jacaerys Velaryon.

They say the only thing that could destroy the house of the Targaryens is themselves. Maybe sayings are, after all just sayings...

• first and foremost, i need to say i'm not a native english speaker, i will probably do a lot of errors and misspellings. i am studying a career in english, but still please take that in mind when reading.
if you could help me correct my mistakes i would really appreciate it. i enjoy writing and to have the chance to do it in the context of house of the dragon and my new husband, jacaerys velaryon, brings me even more joy.

• i also need to clarify that all the rights belong to the creator of house of the dragon as well as the writer george r.r. martin (of fire and blood). except my own characters, storylines, and interactions that they will have with the original cast. and not to forget, the layout is inspired by ohmonamour all credits go to her as well <3

• PLOT | in this story, the ages are going to be different: Valaena, Jacaerys, Baela, and Rhaena will be 18, while Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena around 24,25 more or less. Lucerys would be around 14/15 since i don't know how old he is in the series. there will be certain changes in comparison to the actual plot line of the series. depending if i finish it before season 2, it would also be different since i have the entire story sorted out.
moreover, any time the text in a dialogue is in italics it means they're talking in high valyrian. i think it's best instead of having to translate it everytime.

• WARNING. | this story will contain sexual scenes, violence, death, and other topics in hotd it might trigger the reader. this is the only warning i will give, so if this is not to your liking or it could set you off, i will kindly ask you to stop reading since i don't enjoy bad comments or insults.
i also don't pretend to sexualize anybody. the character of jace is completely made up from my mind with the appearance of the one in the show. i feel it's important to remind this since in the past, i had problem with other fanfics where people would come at me for this. JACAERYS VELARYON IS NOT A MINOR as well as Valaena.

• last but not least, any type of plagiarism is prohibited! moreover, i don't think this story will be too long, since there is not much content of Jace in the series. i will try my best to extend it as much as possible, but please don't be rude if everything happens in a matter of a few chapters.l
