A/N- Yup, I finally got to working on Part 2! It'll all be alternating the POVs of Talia and Joley just like in Part 1, but for this prologue I decided to switch things up a bit. Hope you enjoy :)

Prologue - Enigma

"So does this mean we're ready?"

He nodded— a quick yet sure motion— and was grateful he could now speak without the gadget making his voice so bland. "We got everyone in the HRP successfully, didn't we?"

"I know we did."

"Then why is there doubt laced in your sickly voice?"

He resisted reminding the other man that he didn't have to continue with the flu-like tone anymore.

"It's just..." Hesitation. "I probed the last girls' memories, and she's the one who told the human Talia about our world. Y'know, the daughter of Leo Valencia. Which means it's possible she could find out about the ring..."

He froze.

Because they both knew: If someone found out about that ring, it was only a matter of time they realized the truth about Leo Valencia. And their plan of framing the HRP humans would be ruined.
