I'd love to change the world

But I don't know what to do

So I'll leave it up to you

---

Hearing a rumble in the distance, they turned to see something coming towards them.

''Baron's Hunters, we need to go.'' Faith said, putting on her mask and hat.

Kai and Jay stopped fighting over the water and hopped into their vehicle.

(Y/n), Cole and Wu hopped into theirs.

The others got in theirs and sped off, with the hunters close behind.

''Always knew you were a defector!'' Jet-Jack shouted, grinning.

Faith/Heavy-Metal merely glanced at her before turning her eyes back to what was in front of her.

One of the hunter's vehicles slammed into Kai's, and he did the same to them.

Jay glanced over at Arkade, whose built-in arcade began spinning, landing on three hook things.

''We won!'' Jay cheered.

Arkade fired a chain at their vehicle, latching onto it.

''Uh. Maybe we lost.'' Jay said, before seeing another chain latch onto their vehicle. ''Definitely lost,''

Zane grunted, steering. ''I can't break free.'' Seeing a rock up ahead, Zane said ''Prepare to reverse.''

''What? If we reverse at this speed--'' Jay was interrupted by Zane reversing the vehicle.

The two Hunter's vehicles crashed into the rock.

Zane drove away from them, joining the others. ''We did that! Ha, ha!'' Jay cheered. ''Let's see what you got!''

Kai summoned a flame in his hand and threw it at Chew-Toy, who moved his vehicle to dodge it. He snickered, holding up his chain launcher.

''Hold on!'' Heavy-Metal/ Faith said,  making the vehicle fly up into the air.

Chew-Toy fired the launcher, instead of hitting Kai, the chain wrapped around Jet-Jack's vehicle and damaged her vehicle.

As Kai was cheering, Jet-Jack got up from her vehicle and enabled her wings.

Upon seeing Jet-Jack in the air, Kai didn't look as happy as he was before.

Zane flew through an Ice Dragon's bone pile, enraging it.

The Ice Dragon fired ice at one of the hunters, encasing them in a shell of ice.

(Y/n) looked back at the dragon, it roaring as she did so.

They came to some canyons, each hunter being brought down by an obstacle until Chew-Toy's vehicle was destroyed as Heavy-Metal/Faith fired a chain at the Ice Dragon, making it fall.

''Alright! We're home free!'' Cole cheered.

Wu looked down, seeing Jet-Jack. ''Spoke too soon.''

Cole grabbed his hammer and swiped it at Jet-Jack, who was trying to climb into the vehicle. ''Hey. Come on. Get out from there.''

(Y/n) seeing her disappear, glanced to the side.

Jet-Jack held on the side, holding some sort of blade.

The fight was ended when Wu pressed a button on the back of her wings, and she yelled as she flew away out of control.

''Ha! Nice work!'' Cole complimented Wu.

(Y/n) smiled, watching Jet-Jack until she disappeared.

''Just taking responsibility,''  Wu replied with a smile.

''Where to, Son of Spinjitzu Master?'' Faith asked, in her distorted voice.

''An easier path. This way.'' Wu replied, pointing in a direction.

''We'll  follow you.'' Faith said.

And no one could hear the quiet beeping.

---

It was night, and the Ninja had seen something... unnerving in the distance.

They came to a stop, seeing the dragon skulls on rock pillars.

(Y/n) looked uncomfortable.

So did the other ninja.

''Are you sure it's this way?'' Faith asked.

''Well, we're not going back, 'cause then it'll be our skulls on pikes,'' Jay replied, scared.

Cole walked over to Wu. ''Think before you answer, Master Wu.'' He advised the young master. ''You have a responsibility to at least do that.''

Wu walked forward, with Faith watching him. Wu turned to her. ''Yes.'' He said, determined. ''The Dragon Armour is this way.''

Faith glanced at the unnerving sight. ''I was afraid you'd say that.'' She replied, turning herself towards it.

''Afraid? Heh. You don't look like the type who'd be afraid.'' Kai said, his smile faltering.

''This is Oni land.'' Faith stated. (Y/n) flinched at those words, and Cole put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. ''As long as we stay on our side, they will stay on theirs. But we need the Dragon Armour.''

Cole stepped forward, placing one hand on the vehicle. ''Need? Pfft. ''Need'' is such a strong word. There are other ways of getting home.''

''Gaining the Firstbourne's trust so that her dragons can ferry us home is the only way back to Ninjago,'' Zane replied.

''How dangerous are these... Oni?'' Wu asked.

''You don't want to know...'' (Y/n) mumbled.

''Dangerous enough that when Iron Baron and his bravors crossed this line to get the Dragon Blade, he was the only one to come back.'' She replied.

''Oni have a dark magic about them, a destructive magic. They are like nightfall, consuming darkness. After the stories Baron told us, we know better to search these lands. Are you sure the Dragon Armour is this way?'' She asked Wu.

''I think so?'' Wu replied, sounding uncertain.

''Do not let fear guide you.'' She told him. ''Your first instinct is usually correct,'' she said, hopping into her vehicle and grabbing her mask. ''We must go before it gets dark.'' She said in her distorted voice.

Cole frowned at Wu, while the others hopped into their vehicles, and (Y/n) into theirs, waiting for the two. ''After you... Master.'' He said, grumpy.

The two joined (Y/n), and Cole got into the driver's seat and drove off along with the others.

---

Their vehicles flew over jagged terrain and water.

''It's a dead end!'' Cole said, looking at what was in front of him.

The three vehicles stopped, and Wu walked forward with his staff in hand.

Cole and (Y/n) followed, holding their weapons at the ready.

''So these Oni...'' Jay started. ''If they're shapeshifters, how do we know when we see one?'' He asked. ''I mean, how do we even know one isn't already pretending to be one of us.?'' He said, getting up in Kai's face.

''Oh, zip it, Jay,'' Kai replied, elbowing Jay away from him.

When the fog surrounding a statue cleared, Cole stepped back. ''Oni!''

Kai threw his fire at it, grunting. The fire lit up the statue, and (Y/n) softly chuckled. ''It's a statue.'' He plainly stated.

''A gate,'' Zane said.

''To an Oni stronghold.'' Faith said, holding her weapon at the ready. ''But it's open...''

The group walked towards it. ''Um. Should we be walking toward it?'' Jay asked. ''I really thought we'd be walking the other way.'' Faith looked at him. ''Zip it. Dually noted.''

(Y/n) became more and more uncomfortable as they walked in, with Cole beside her, holding his hammer at the ready.

Jay and Kai found some torches, which instantly lit. ''One thing you forgot to tell us about Oni: they're slobs too.''

''Where is everyone?'' Cole asked.

''Preferably far away from us?'' (Y/n) replied.

''Wherever they are, they haven't lived here for centuries,'' Zane said.

''That liar!'' Faith said, enraged. ''All this time, he lied to us. It was just a story, made-up.''

''Uh, what are you talking about?'' Kai asked.

''Iron Baron.'' Faith replied. ''He made us believe this was Oni land. No one has ever seen one because look around.'' Cole glanced at (Y/n), who was biting her lip. ''They're all gone.''

''But where did they go?'' Jay asked.

(Y/n) felt the memory flash before her eyes. Blinking, she found herself in a knelt down position, before looking up at Cole.

He held out his hand, and she took it, standing.

Faith screamed in frustration while Kai watched. ''He used fear to control you,'' Kai said.

''He wasn't enslaving dragons. He was enslaving us!'' She fumed. ''How could I have been so stupid? Is any of it true?'' She turned back to Wu. ''Is there even the Dragon Armour?''  she asked him angrily.

Cole nudged Wu. ''I think she's asking you.''

''I..I don't know,'' Wu answered.

(Y/n) sucked in a breath.

''Don't know? Don't know?'' She said in disbelief. ''Do you know how much I sacrificed to help you?'' She fumed, forcing Wu to back up against a rock. ''If we can't get out of here, and Iron Baron finds me, he'll-- He'll--'' She grunted, throwing her hat against the wall. It broke into pieces as it hit the wall.

She yelled, glaring at Wu. ''Why did you tell me you knew where it was?'' She asked.

''My father told me in a dream, I must have Faith. Then we found you.'' He answered, honest. ''I still believe we will find it, even if you don't.'' He said, turning his head away.

Faith screamed, aiming a punch at Wu. The young master closed his eyes and braced for impact, but it never came.

Taking her anger out on the doors, Cole, (Y/n) and Wu along with the rest of the ninja watched. ''I know that was hard to do, but it's better to admit the truth than carry on a lie,'' Cole told Wu, and (Y/n) nodded, a little shaken from Faith's rant and venting.

''Even if we never get home, the least we can do is raise you up to be the person you raised us to be,'' Jay said optimistically.

Kai sighed. ''It's a shame about the armour. I was starting to believe in it myself.''

''We all were,'' Zane replied.

The ninja looked towards Faith, who was punching the stone doors.

Wu smiled. ''Look.'' He said, pointing.

''Ah, it's sad really,'' Jay replied. ''She has a lot of pent-up issues to resolve. That's what can happen when you're born in a cruel world.''

''Not her. The gate.'' Wu said, looking at them before walking over to it. Wu closed the stone door and walked over to her. ''Do you mind?'' He asked calmly. He then closed the other door.

They looked at the map that was revealed before them.

''The Dragon Armour.'' Said Kai.

''It's in the nest of the Firstbourne,'' Cole said.

''It's... real...'' Faith said, astounded.

''We have Faith. Now we have a map.'' Wu declared. ''I told you.''

---

(Y/n) woke up, on the hard ground. Yawning, she turned in her sleep, only to be met with Cole's beautiful brown eyes.

Wait, beautiful?

Cole smirked and got up.

She got up, still looking at him.

''We'll eat when the son of the Spinjitzu Master has the Dragon Armour, and we are all in Ninjigo.'' Faith said, hopping onto a side of the vehicle and throwing her sword in.

''It's Ninjago.'' Zane corrected her. ''It's really not that hard to pronounce.''

''Ah, to be back home in a real bed.'' He said, stretching his arms.

''Mm. With real food.'' Jay replied.

''With Remo.'' (Y/n) said with a smile.

''And cake,'' Cole said happily. Wu and (Y/n) looked at him. ''Why did I ever give up cake?'' (Y/n) rolled her eyes, chuckling.

Jay snorted. ''Because your body is a temple?''

''What is this 'cake'?'' Faith asked.

''Imagine all that is good.'' He replied dreamily. ''Baked until it's warm and moist. Then add a sweet, sugary frosting. That's cake.''

(Y/n)'s stomach grumbled. She looked at Cole, who only shrugged.

''You sound excited.'' Faith replied plainly. ''But are you ready for what lies ahead?''

''You explained that the Firstbourne is awaiting the return of the First Spinjitzu Master,'' Zane answered. ''Being reunited would be a good thing.''

''And what if it is not? Coming face to face with a dragon is one thing, but facing the mother of all dragons is a test you cannot fail.'' She replied, hopping down from the vehicle. ''Our chains are our only means of survival in this realm.'' She picked up a chain launcher. ''We live and die by these iron bonds and our mastery of these tools. Let me see you chain that rock.'' She dropped it onto Kai's hands.

Kai looked at the pointed rock, still holding the chain launcher awkwardly in his arms.

''Don't worry, it will not move. It should be easy.'' She said.

Kai pointed the chain launcher towards the rock. ''Yeah, yeah. I got it.'' He replied confidently. ''Watch and learn.'' He grunted as the chain launcher fired, sending him backwards by the force of it.

The chain wrapped around Cole, while Jay laughed. ''At least you got the Master of rock.''

(Y/n) glared at Jay before untying Cole from the chain.

Cole gave her a tight hug, and she hugged back. Cole smiled, and Jay snickered at the sight of the two.

''It was harder than it looks,'' Kai said.

''Perhaps we should work on this.'' Faith replied, turning her face towards the sun.

---

The Ninja practised with their chain launchers.

''Alright, the first one to wrap their chain around that rock wins,'' Kai said.

The four fired their chain launchers, missing the rock.

Zane looked at it, and fired his chain, successfully wrapping it around the rock.

''Uh...'' Kai was surprised.

''Did I win?'' Zane asked.

The four glanced at Zane.

''I didn't know you were competing. Heh.'' He chuckled nervously.

''Uh.. yeah, I thought you were the judge,'' Jay said.

(Y/n) rolled her eyes.

''Oh. Very well.'' Zane replied, bringing back his chain and walking off to the others.

The four kept practising until Kai's chain wrapped around the rock.

''Master of Fire is now master of-- '' Kai was cut off from his sentence as his chain returned to the launcher, making him land face-first on the rock.

(Y/n) stifled a laugh.

Should I do the ''special'' kind of chapter next?
