ɴᴏᴡ ᴘʟᴀʏɪɴɢ: Starset - Die For You

I'll search the skies for you and I'll follow

I'll be in your afterglow

And I'll bring you home

Even if the sky does fall

Even if they take it all

I can't see but I'll follow you

Even if I'd die...

---

''I would've taken your place.''

(Y/n) watched Cole fall from a great height. His expression was filled with shock, sadness and possibly even anger.

A flash of lightning lit his face before he was gone.

She tugged at the chain around her waist, trying to get free. The dragon mech looked at her, its eyes glowing in the dark night.

Rain began to pour, instantly drenching the mech, and also (Y/n).

Tears ran from her eyes, mixing with the drops of water.

---

The freedom, of falling.

Cole felt like a bird, but it was horrifying. When he lost grip, he could not slow down his fall.

That's not how gravity worked.

A clap of thunder, a flash of lightning, and then he could no longer see her.

Rain fell at a slow pace around him, and he knew this was what (Y/n) experienced before she fell into the Oni cloud.

She was an Oni, of course, so that meant she'd survive.

But what about him?

He was only a Master of Earth. Sure, he could make the ground beneath your feet do his bidding, but would the earth itself reach out to stop his fall?

He wasn't a Master of Water, like Nya, who could use the water around her to slow down her fall. Nor was he Jay, who could use the lightning or his nunchucks to slow his fall.

Rocks weren't soft, nor were they a liquid, they were just... solid.

Cole pondered this while falling, waiting for the earth to receive him. Tears formed in the Master of Earth's eyes, making him wonder if he'd ever see her again.

Maybe in another life.

As he fell towards the earth, Cole felt the slight weight on his back. He turned his head, to see the Scythe of Quakes glowing in the darkness.

He pulled it out and raised it above his head as he plummeted.

A golden light surrounded the Scythe of Quakes, and the other ninja saw it and took cover.

When the ground was close, he slammed the Scythe of Quakes into the ground.

The impact caused the weapon to create a massive shockwave, flattening the trees in every direction and making mountainous rocky spikes pierce through the flattened grass and shoot upward, like a time-lapse plant.

The Dragon Mech screeched as the first mountainous rocky spike pierced its wing, making it difficult for it to fly.

(Y/n) tugged at the chain around her waist, before spotting a rock spike. She began to swing back and forth and summoned a small purple knife.

When she was close, she used the purple knife to break the chain, and she was falling for a moment, before grabbing the rock spike. The rain made it slippery and more difficult to hold onto.

Using her upper body strength, she pulled herself up and looked down.

The rock spike steeply inclined, and was a bit bumpy. Looking behind her, she saw a sheet of metal loosely holding the Dragon Mech's wing together. It was the only thing keeping the dragon mech from falling. And at any moment, it would come off like an old bandage, and she'd never get the same chance again.

Slipping a bit, she regained her balance. She looked at the purple weapon she summoned, before making it disappear. Then she grabbed her Kusari-Fundo, which had a long chain connecting both parts of the weapon.

She swung her weapon, and let the chain extend, the end of it wrapping around the sheet of metal. Pulling on it, it almost fell out of her weapon's chain but it was in reach. She grabbed it, noticing the lightning was getting closer now that she had the metal.

Slowly and carefully, she placed the metal down, hoping it would be enough. She then sat on it, hoping she would not have to do this again.

''I better as the underworld make it out alive, or the departed will be sorry.'' (Y/n) muttered, edging forward.

The makeshift sledge tilted forward, then dipped. (Y/n) struggled to hold on, feeling the rush of the wind in her ears.

Rain jabbed at her skin like liquid ice, sharp and cold.

Her (h/l) (h/c) hair whipped in the wind, blurring her vision.

(Y/n) bit her lip and braced for impact.

But it never came.

The slope of the rocky spike evened out, coming to a stop at the very end.

(Y/n) shakily stood up, seeing Chamille stand up too.

The two locked eyes with each other.

---

''Cole!'' Jay called out, looking for his ''friend''.

The Master of Earth lay, the Scythe of Quakes glowing beside him. A crown of mountainous rocky spikes surrounded him, like a volcano crater.

Kai held a flame in his hand, like a torch. It sputtered but stayed alight as the rain fell down.

Nya summoned some water and splashed it on his face. He instantly woke up, coughing as some of the water had entered his lungs. Once he was finished, he looked at the others.

''Where's (Y/n)?'' He asked.

The ninja shared glances at each other.

''We don't know,'' Lloyd answered.

Cole stood up, with Kai steadying him. He looked at their faces, before picking up the Scythe of Quakes from the ground.

The others stared at it, at a loss for words. It had created the crown of rocky spikes that surrounded them, a sort of crater made by a powerful golden weapon.

''We saw the Scythe of Quakes glow brightly as you fell.'' Lloyd pointed out. The others nodded.

Cole blinked. He did see the golden light emitted by the golden weapon, it was almost blinding. And when it struck the ground, he could feel the massive shockwave it caused, an earthquake.

The ninja stood there, soaked from the downpour. Then, Kai's flame went out.

''Great, now we're now stuck in the rain, (Y/n)'s gone, Chamille and that Oni are working together to do who knows what, what could any get worse?!'' Jay ranted, yelling.

''Hold on.'' Cole stopped the mouth of lightning. He then pointed up at the sky.

The others' eyes followed to where he pointed, and they saw the silhouette of a bird.

''The falcon?!'' Zane exclaimed, happy to see his feathered robotic friend.

Lightning flashed across the sky. ''Don't celebrate too early, it's high up,'' Kai spoke, watching it.

''We can't just stand here, the falcon may be our only chance of finding (Y/n)!'' Cole replied, following it.

The group stopped, seeing Chamille and (Y/n) fight.

---

Chamille smiled. She took a sip of the tea in her hand.

''Why aren't you affected?'' (Y/n) said, narrowing her eyes.

''Ever heard of invincibili-tea?'' Chamille asked, taking another sip.

Rain-soaked (Y/n)'s orange gi, and drops of water slid down her face, her eyes narrowed.

''Want some?'' Chamille asked, holding it out like a matador would with a bull.

(Y/n) ran forward, outstretching her hand to snatch the tea. Chamille brought her hand back and sipped the tea once more.

Chamille dropped the teacup, its contents spilling out and the teacup itself hit the ground, shattering into pieces.

''Oops.'' Chamille giggled, looking down at the cup.

(Y/n) bared her teeth, before glancing down at the vengestone chain around her waist. She began to pull it off, her anger fueling her strength.

Chamille looked bored. She kicked a broken piece of the teacup towards (Y/n), who kicked it back, making it hit her hand.

The Master of Form clutched her hand, seeing the broken piece embed itself into her skin. ''You!'' Chamille growled, leaping forward to attack (Y/n).

''So-called invincibili-tea. I guess you don't know your strength, sister.'' (Y/n) said coldly.

Chamille kneeled on the ground, holding her hand. (Y/n) walked over to her, holding her weapon.

Suddenly, Chamille twisted to face (Y/n), and tackled her.

The Master of Illusion was forced to the ground. Chamille towered over her, her purple hair wet and dripping water. ''I guess it doesn't take much to take you down.'' Chamille sneered, taking out a device from her pocket. It beeped as (Y/n) looked at it.

(Y/n) struggled to get her sister off her, but Chamille held her down as she brought the device closer to her. ''It's time I take you under my control.''
