So silent, no violence

But inside my head

So loud and clear

You're screaming

You're screaming, covered up with a smile I've learned to fear

---

Remo lay there, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat keeping him awake. The little snake thought about the countless adventures he had with (Y/n), who he looked up to. Ever since he was found by the girl, he began to form a bond.

(Y/n) was the closest he had to a family, the one who took care of him when he could not take care of himself.

She was also the one who helped him discover the wonder that is ham sandwiches.

Ham sandwiches, how he craved them right now, but every time he moved, the spot where his broken rib flared-up in pain.

''Hey...'' He said weakly, wishing someone would come and help. ''I need food... someone get me a ham sandwich...''

There was a creaking of the floorboards, and the door swung open, to reveal Jay and Cole, who walked over to the snake who laid on (Y/n)'s bed.

The Cake Devourer carefully picked up the silver snake, who yawned sleepily at the thought of rest, the warmth of Cole's hands like a blanket.

Jay stroked Remo trying to comfort him, whose eyes opened and looked at him.

The Lightning Ninja's hands were cold.

Jaybird then muttered an apology and put his hands at his sides, but they never seemed to be still, twitching so he fidgeted with his hands.

''I'll see if Zane can make you some ham sandwiches,'' Cole spoke, making Remo look up at his face.

''Thanks, Cole.'' The little snake replied, smiling despite the circumstances.

''No problem, little ham sandwich devourer.''

---

The ninja sat at the table, with Remo sitting with two stacks of ham sandwiches, a wall of deliciousness The Great Ham Sandwich Devourer had to consume.

While the others talked about their plan, Remo wasted no time in starting to eat, carefully prying a ham sandwich in reach like a block from a Jenga tower.

They then looked at the snake, who had already swallowed the first sandwich, and on to the next one.

It seemed like the first stack had vanished after five minutes, and mind you, these ham sandwich skyscrapers were pretty tall, but if they fell the small snake would not be harmed, with no more than what injury he already had.

The ham sandwiches were no match for The Great Ham Sandwich Devourer, who finished the last sandwich and rested his head on the table, sleepy and full of ham sandwiches.

''So what's the plan?'' Kai asked, warily eyeing Jay as he used his fork to stab a meatball.

''The plan is that we find out where (Y/n)'s father is taking her, then once we know, we have to get the other elemental masters to help us save (Y/n). But it's not going to be easy.'' Lloyd answered.

''Since when has it been easy?'' Cole asked. ''The villains we've faced were never easy.''

''I have a suggestion.'' Jay piped up. ''How about I go to the junkyard with Nya? We could make something that could help.'' He suggested.

''And perhaps I can research the solution for what happened to (Y/n)?'' Zane asked.

''...and maybe I could have some more ham sandwiches..?'' Remo murmured, and the others looked over at the little snake, who was still asleep. ''And get to see (Y/n) again...?''

''I'll tag along with Nya and Jay,'' Kai spoke.

Cole thought for a moment. He then spoke up. ''How about Lloyd and I try to slow down (Y/n)?''

Zane looked concerned. ''Cole, it would not be wise, seeing as she has beaten us without a problem, also her father himself has said-''

''That her fate was written out before the monks in the Cloud Kingdom put it in her scroll. I know.'' The Master of Earth interrupted. ''But if Morro can defy destiny-'' Lloyd frowned at this. ''So can we.''

''This is also about Remo, right?'' Kai asked, and the others glanced at the sleeping ham sandwich filled snek.

Cole nodded. ''Yeah, he wants (Y/n) to be normal again, ham sandwiches aren't the only thing that makes him happy.''

The Green Ninja sighed. ''Are you sure you can do this again?''

Cake Devourer looked at him with a grave expression. ''If it means getting (Y/n), then I'm ready as I'll ever be.''

---

(Y/n) and her Oni father walked, heading somewhere. Nearby, Lloyd and Cole watched, quietly following the pair.

''There's no freshwater!'' Chamille complained, appearing and joining the two.

''Back in my day we didn't need to get water, but I'm afraid you humans have become soft.'' (Y/n)'s Oni father snapped.

(Y/n) stopped, and bent down, exhausted from the lack of rest. Her father glared at her while her sister crossed her arms and huffed.

Cole watched, tempted to charge in there and help. However, he was not Kai, who would do it no matter the consequences.

Though he did want to fight, it would put him in danger, with no chance of defeating his opponent.

He sighed, troubled. Lloyd watched the three for a minute longer before turning to Cole. ''Let's see what we can do, not what we can't do.''

The Master of Earth nodded, holding up his scythe, and the pair went ahead to slow down the Troublesome Trio.

---

Remo carefully took a block out of the Jenga tower while Pixal watched. The despondent snake was full, yet he didn't feel happy.

He then put it on top of the tower, watching as it wobbled, slightly scared for his life. Pixal looked ready to leap in and save the little snake, sitting nearby in case it did come crashing down.

Once he was finished, the female nindroid sighed in relief, and carefully picked out a block in the tower which would not let it fall.

---

Jay, Nya and Kai were at the junkyard, searching for pieces of metal which would be useful in the creation of something useful.

Kai searched a pile when he noticed a glint of gold in the corner of his eye. He turned to it, brushing the other pieces of scrap metal aside with his hand.

It was a golden teapot, with a symbol of a skull with swords in an X. Kai walked over to Jay and Nya, trying to make it work.

The Lightning Ninja spotted the familiar and trouble-causing object which he snatched from the Fire Ninja's hand, earing a ''hey!'' from Kai, before throwing it into the air and using his lightning to blast it far away from their current location.

''What was that for?'' Burnt Toast questioned, looking at Jay with a slightly annoyed look.

''Uh, I think heard a snake inside it, if you opened it would bite you,'' The Lightning Ninja replied quickly, chuckling nervously. Nya rolled her eyes with a smile on her face, while Kai was confused.

''It's nothing, he worries about a lot of things,'' His sister told him, giving a quick wink to Jay.

---

Cole and Lloyd were ahead of the trio, and the Earth Ninja brought his scythe above his head, and swung it downwards, making a half-crown of medium-sized spikes appear, blocking the path travelled by some.

Soon, the three appeared, with Chamille looking bored as she walked along. They then came to a stop as they saw the spikes blocking their path.

(Y/n)'s eyes narrowed, searching the trees for anyone.

Cole froze as her eyes met with his.
