criminally overlooked Genshin rarepair, I can only find like 5 posts abt them and only on TikTok for some reason??
anyway they're perfect and I love them and I think about them at least 7 hours every day 😍

some headcanons bc I need to rant abt them:
• Nilou - she/her, lesbian, 19 yrs old [the one on the left]
• Layla - she/they, moon lesbian (term used to mean closeted), 19 yrs old [the one on the right]
- Layla fell first, but Nilou fell harder
- Layla thought she'd never have a chance w/ Nilou but here we are
- Layla used to go watch Nilou's evening performances quite often to calm her mind after studying in the House of Daena, which is how the two met.
- since Layla is closeted, Nilou respects her wishes to not tell anyone that they're dating
- Nilou has droves of adoring fans (which is canon), who often recognize her when she's in public. this is what I tried to show in the art above :3
- Nilou is a major people pleaser and has a super hard time saying no. This leads to most of her time being taken up by meeting with fans. She gets asked out a lot as well, and always goes through with one singular date because she's terrified of hurting their feelings. Layla is fully aware of this arrangement and it doesn't bother her at all; she knows where Nilou's heart lies, although they both agree that setting boundaries is something Nilou needs to work on.
- Nilou practices henna on Layla
- Nilou doesn't understand most of what Layla studies in Rtawahist at the Akademia but loves to hear her talk about the stars anyway
- Nilou uses her meditation expertise to help Layla fall asleep and they're slowly working to fix her sleep schedule
- the two have plans to travel across Teyvat once Layla graduates from the Akademia, which has long been a dream of Nilou's.
