Ciao!

Back in January me and three of my friends travelled to Milan, Italy!

Milan is the fashion capital of the world, as well as having beautiful sights and amazing food. Just a few weeks after I had gone celebrities such as Will Smith, Liza Koshy and Jason Derulo had also travelled there.

I wanted to share my experience with you all in case in the future anyone decides to go and visit there, this may also help if you're a student like me travelling on a budget. Some pictures are from google and some are from my trip.

Day 1:

We arrived at Bergamo airport in the evening which is an hour away from Milan City Centre, but it's the only airport we could fly too with the airline at this time of the year, and made our way outside to the coaches as we had booked tickets £10 each to the centre of Milan and then back to the airport when our flight home was. We booked through Terravision and I would highly recommend if you're on a budget.

After an hour drive on the coach we made it to the centre and from there we took the metro to get closer to our Air B&B. The metro was an interesting experience as we were unsure of the system in a completely different country where none of us speak Italian but we figured it out and got closer to our Air B&B.

We walked around ten minutes to our Air B&B to collect the keys from the person renting it out to us, we ended up staying in that night and ordering food from an Italian Pizza place on JustEat...not as easy as you'd think it's all in Italian there is no option for English but we managed.

Day 2:

Our first full day in Milan, after we had gotten ready, we headed out and made our way to the Duomo Di Milano, which is the main Cathedral in Milan. The walk took us around half an hour and it was amazing seeing all the beauty Milan had to offer. We arrived at the Duomo and you do not realise how big it really is. (Pictures from my phone below).

We then took pictures...a lot of pictures before deciding to try and find somewhere to eat, thankfully there are loads of places surrounding this area and we found a cute little café, with the friendliest staff. After eating we made our way into the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping centre and the entrance to this leads off from the plaza in the picture above.

This store includes high end shops such as Prada, Gucci, Versace, Chanel, Louis Vuitton. After looking around we bought tickets to go into the Cathedral and for a standard ticket it was only €6 each. We went and lined up which was extremely short and they searched our bags before letting us inside. The inside was beautiful. Me and my friend lit a candle inside which is only €1 to do.

After the Cathedral we went back into the shopping centre as they have a famous ice cream place where they make the ice cream into a rose, the line for this was hectic as it is quite a famous place in Milan.  (Pic below I took).

After our ice cream we made a stop at a supermarket to get some random essentials to make a cup of tea and some breakfast bits since we never made it out before 11 then we made our way back to our Air B&B to chill out since it had been a long day and to get ready for tea.

Day 3:

The next morning we were up early and decided to go and visit Navigli which is a famous river, unfortunately the weather wasn't as nice but it was still beautiful. (Pic below I took).

We walked along it, which took forever as it is so long but it's surrounded by café's, bookstores and more things like that. On the bridges it has a small gate thing where locks are placed that are written on. We then found such a nice breakfast place called Tagio close to the river where we ate breakfast, they were so kind and were asking us a lot about British culture.

We then walked to SforzescoCastle which is massive and it leads out to Sempione park, where the PortaGiova Ark stands.

We then made our back to the Duomo Plaza as we wanted more pictures in front of the cathedral and we liked the atmosphere there since it was our last full day. We bought some souvenirs before heading a Cannolli place. (Picture below I took).

We headed back to our Air B&B to get ready for the night as we were going out for a birthday meal for our friends 21rst Birthday. We had reserved a table at a restaurant and decided to uber there since we were in heels although it was only twenty minutes away. Catching an uber in Italy is not easy, they weren't sure where they were going and we had it cancelled on us before we got a new one. Eventually we arrived there late but we had rang to tell them we were going to be late and they were dead understanding.

The entire restaurant was so fancy and nice, the staff were so friendly offering us free appetisers and free wine. The food was amazing and they were so helpful when me and my friend asked if they did anything for people's birthdays, which resulted in them singing happy birthday and placing a candle in the dessert we had ordered along with writing on the plate.

We then left and headed back to our Air B&B. The walk back was nice and extremely safe too.

Day 4:

The next morning we were leaving around noon so we ensured we had everything and made our way to the Metro which took us to the main station where our Terravision coach would be, we were early so we found a small sandwich place to eat at before we left. We got on the coach and headed back to the airport before heading home.
