Let me start off by saying that each and every one of you is loved more than you know. You might not all have the "perfect" family or be the "popular" kid in school, but let me tell you that that is more than okay. No matter what your family may be labeled as, how many friends you have, or what your academic or sports history might be, you were made for something that you may not even have discovered yet.

We all have our different talents, so why do we compare ourselves to others? I constantly find myself wishing that I was more, longing to be a perfect daughter, an extravagant student, and a committed and successful athlete. But I have realized that I can't be perfect.

And that's okay.

Nobody on this planet is perfect. Nobody is meant to be perfect. If everybody in this world was perfect, we wouldn't be able to make our own choices, or be our own person, or discover our own talents and future.

Is it a bad thing to compare ourselves to others?

Is it bad to wish that we were better at other things, or to wish that we were prettier here, or skinnier here?

Is it a bad thing to try to change who we are so that we can be more like other people?

It is not a bad thing to try to improve yourself, or to wish to be better at some things, this is how we grow and get better at things. If we are committed to a certain act, then we are going to want to improve. On the opposite side, we shouldn't overwork ourselves about trying to be the perfect student or the star athlete. We also shouldn't try to get better just so that we can be the best.

You were designed to be you. You are beautiful and you shouldn't try to look like a supermodel. Nobody is meant to look the same, and even if there are some things that you would change about yourself, you should still try to be happy about how you look. And I know that it isn't always easy. It seems impossible to look at myself and be happy sometimes. I often find myself dreading my hair, my face, my weight, my height, and just my looks in general. But this is not a healthy way of living, and I am trying to see things that I like about myself, and you should, too.

No matter what you think about yourself, you are loved. You are beautiful. And let me just tell you that no matter what you see when you look in the mirror, and what you wish that you could change about, there is somebody else who is looking at you, wishing that they had your hair, or wishing that they could be you. So here's the goal that I'm going to give you guys:

Everyday, wake up and tell yourself at least one good thing about yourself.

It can be that you like your smile, or it can be that you like your ability to play basketball well.

If any of you guys ever need to talk about ANYTHING, feel free to pm/dm me anytime on my main account CheyanneWalt.

Stay Strong XXX
