Shivaay's Pov

Once we were done with eating and snacking, it was time to go to sleep. I had decided to stay the night because it was pretty late to be headed home.

Anika didn't have a couch in her room. And the whole time she kept walking around, trying to avoid her asking me to sleep on the bed.

“You know that I don't bite, right?”, I started teasing her, because one, it was fun. Two, someone had to pull her out of that quandary.

“Huh?”, she answered confused and I rolled my eyes at her. It wasn't like we were gonna do something. Apart from sleeping.

I took the tiny cushions from her bed and placed them in the midst of the bed. Anika looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.

“Let's sleep now”, I announced quite tired. Anika sighed and sat down on the bed. She turned off the lights.

An hour had passed and I still wasn't asleep. Maybe it was because of the mosquitoes. I turned around, only to find Anika fast asleep.

I hadn't noticed before, how calm she looks while sleeping. Almost like a baby. It was kind of cute. Suddenly, Anika turned towards me and started scooting closer.

I was about to move away, but her leg landed on mine. Blocking the process. I sighed, not knowing what else to do. Half of her body was resting on mine.

I looked at her in annoyance. Which then out of the sudden turned into adore. And before I knew anything else, my hand started caressing her hair.

And that's how I spent my first night at her place. When I woke up, the place next to me was empty. I rubbed my eyes and left to wash my face.

When I was done, I started walking towards the kitchen. Which was kind of hard to find. I was about to enter the kitchen, when a boy bumped into me, causing all the milk to fall on my shirt.

Anika who was around somewhere, came running, hearing me curse him out loudly. That's why I didn't want kids. Anika told me to get changed, while she'd arrange a shirt for me.

So, I took off my shirt and sat down, in wait of her. After a moment, my eyes wandered towards the window. From where I could see Anika, hugging a guy.

Something about this view, made my guts wrench and I found myself glaring at him. I mean, Anika and I shared no husband and wife relationship but still...

I walked out of the room, shirt or none, didn't matter. I grabbed Anika's arm and made her turn to me. I looked up, only to find the same guy I bumped into yesterday, standing in front of me.

“Aren't you the one I bumped into yesterday?”, he asked me with a smile playing on his lips. Smooth, bastard.

“Yeah”, I shot him a fake smile. A part of me wanted to strangle him right at this time.

“Ani, where's...”, I was about to ask her for the shirt when that idiot interrupted me.

“Already on nickname basis?”, well, this time his tone sounded more judgemental. I looked at Anika, who was all red out of embarrassment. What the hell was going on?

“What's your name?”, I asked him, curiously. Why were they hugging and why does she seem to embarrassed to be seen with me in front of him?

“Hadi”, he answered with a teasing smile. Dude, had some real issues.

“Shivaay”, I answered, with no smile this time. We weren't friends, nor did I want us to be.

“How do you know Anika?”, I asked him but my eyes fixed on her. Who was staring at the ground.

“The last time I checked, she was my fiancé, but today some shirtless dude is standing by her side, acting like her husband”, he sneered and I clenched my fist. What the fuck!?

“Woah, slow down”, I had no control over my reaction. Anika looked at me with her pleading eyes.

“I'm sorry, we're just friends. But congratulations, bro. Is it a love marriage?”, I sounded more bitter than I had intended to.

“I wish. Sometimes it seems like a forced one”, and he started laughing, while Anika chuckled forcibly.

“Nah, I'm sure, she loves you. Congrats, Ani”, she looked at me with guilt. So, shd kept me in the dark and didn't feel the need to tell me, she was engaged?

“Excuse me, for a moment”, Hadi said and left from there to attend some call.

“I can exp...”, so now she was trying to tell me that she had a fiancé waiting for her at home?

“Don't...”, I whispered dangerously. Why was I angry? She wasn't my wife wife. But it still felt personal.

“Should've known that you're no different”, I snapped at her in anger. Anika's eyes changed color, as if she felt the madness rising in herself too.

She grabbed my arm, piercing her small nails into my skin. Like once I used to. Pulling me into her room, she looked to door. When she turned around, her eyes were filled with rage.

“It's not my fault that where I went to work, the owner of that house decided to get me married to her grandson, just because his bride ran away. And Cherry on the top, he doesn't want to accept our relationship because of my social status. You, yourself didn't want to give this relationship a chance then why should I tell him that I'm married. And for a matter of fact, he doesn't feeling shame calling me his”, she yelled at me.

I felt tongue tied in that moment. Anika was right. I couldn't accept our relationship because of many reasons. Maybe because it was my first ever relationship which wasn't deal. Which wasn't a give or take thing.

I had never had a real relationship. Where someone would care about me or vice versa.
