Backstory: Garnet was raised in a happy home, with his siblings, biological mother, his father, and his father's boyfriend. 

They were a tightly knit family, despite the apparently awkward parenting situation, and Garnet thought that nothing could ever tear them apart. 

That was until The Web War came.

Garnet had only been a dragonet when the War Of Sandwing Succession had been ended by the Dragonets Of Destiny, so he had never experienced the full horror of battle and death and violence. Four tyrants, all from unknown places of darkness, had risen and allied with each other in an attempt to conquer Pyrrhia. Their deeper plans were unclear, but that was all they knew. Garnet and his entire family were all caught up and thrown into the Skywing Army, but after the first battle- which was a total bloodbath- the tribe fell into chaos. If it hadn't been for the fact that Garnet had stayed behind to mourn over the dead bodies of his father, mother, and sister, then he would have been killed in the ambush that was set up at the Skywing Palace for the retreating surviving soldiers. The Palace was overtaken, and so was the throne and some of the tribe. Queen Ruby had vanished into thin air, hopefully to the safety of a different Kingdom. Garnet knew what he had to do. Ruby had killed Scarlet, she would be able to challenge the new and evil Skywing called Ferocity who sat upon the stolen throne. And if that didn't work, there was always the legendary Dragonets Of Destiny to save the day. With high hopes and a shaken but unbreakable (and unreasonable) sense of optimisim, Garnet set out on his quest to find the rightful Queen of the Skywings.
