Tribe: Mudwing-Seawing (Her mother was a Mudwing and her father a Mudwing-Seawing hybrid, though clearly the Seawing genes have been almost entirely washed out)

Crush: TBD, though at one point she had a crush on Princess Burn.

Personality: Loyal, strong, determined, driven, selfless, will sacrifice her own life for anything greater or that she values more than herself. She's a caring dragon once you get to know her, but can come across as bland, reserved, and suspicious during first impressions. It is worthwhile trying to build any sort of relationship with her, though. Saltmarsh will stand by your side 'till the very end- and beyond. She will openly tell you her feelings if she trusts you, and has been known to grow admiration for questionable dragons, and then surprises everyone by pointing out really good reasons as to why she admires or respects them. 

Brief backstory: Saltmarsh was an outstanding fighter during the War of Sandwing Succession, and survived many, many, many battles- as is visible on her body. She served willingly under Moorhen and Burn's rule, and though she disliked Queen Scarlet she sort of admired the rest of the Skywing tribe. 

Saltmarsh is an unsib. She is unsure how her parents met, where her father is, or how her mother managed to pass all five of her sibs off as pure Mudwings, but it happened, and Saltmarsh never questioned it. Apart from being recognized as a very good soldier and holding an impressive reputation and a lot of respect amongst the other (usually younger) Mudwings, she never drew much attention, until she was sent off in a special ops squad lead personally by none other than Burn herself. 

Saltmarsh found Burn's dark and bossy personality alluring, her appearance pretty in a rough and battered way, and comforting to know she wasn't the only heavily scarred dragon out there. Burn would have entirely ignored Saltmarsh, and not even acknowledged her existence, if it hadn't been for one of Saltmarsh's friends calling her by the nickname "Salt". For whatever reason, hearing this piqued Burn's interest (maybe because it was clearly not a Mudwing name and she was curious as to what was going on), and by unfortunate chance, the violent Sandwing picked up on the fact that this soldier's scales WEREN'T covered in bluish dust but were ACTUALLY partially blue. How coincidental that her name linked back to saltwater and the ocean!

All of a sudden, General Burn- that's what she preferred to be called- was oddly intent on learning about Saltmarsh's background.

Saltmarsh, interpreting Burn's interest in the wrong way, believed she had somehow caught the eye of the Sandwing princess, and after the special operations squad had completed their task of annihilating an outpost of Blaze's best soldiers camping on the Ice Kingdom border, the Mudwing-Seawing admitted to her that she was in fact a form of hybrid.

Big mistake.

Saltmarsh was in the Sandwing Stronghold's dungeons quicker than you could say "Burn is 100% bisexual and you can not change my mind", awaiting her fate as yet another grotesque display in the Weirdling Tower.

If Burn hadn't all of a sudden gotten so busy with attacking the Seawing Summer Palace, accommodating her assumed-dead disfigured Skywing ally, and "negotiating" with the newly appointed Queen Ruby, Saltmarsh would have been examined, experimented on, executed, and taxidermied in a heartbeat- but the war was reaching a peak of eventfulness, and it was crucial to Burn that her forces kept up with every little move, so Saltmarsh was temporarily pushed to the side for another time.

It wasn't until Blister and Burn were killed and Thorn was put on the Sandwing throne that Saltmarsh was released from her cell.

She blames herself entirely for what happened, and although her time locked away didn't much affect her personality, she is now a lot more cautious when it comes to meeting new individuals and how much she tells them.
