JUNE SMILED WIDELY AT the drone, knowing that finally one of their missions worked. She pointed at the screen, only for Pope too smack her hand away,

"God bless geeks, Pope. Truly, man. What would we do without you to control the drone?" JJ teased, "Technically, it's not a drone, it's an ROV."

"Shut up. Shut up."

"Hey, once we get footage of the wreck, we'll bring it to a lawyer in town and file a formal claim." John B shrugged. "That's doing to much, I'm afraid." June took a drink of her water. "Well, there is a maritime salvage law. You can't just go to the ocean floor and scoop a bunch of stuff up."

"I know. I know. It's just lawyers aren't cheap, bro." JJ explained, "As soon as they see the footage, they'll work for comp."

"Or I can talk to my dad and get him to let me use my lawyer." June spoke up, "You have a lawyer?"

"Yeah. You never know what could go wrong, shit has to be in place and ready." June shrugged, smiling at JJ, "You do that."

"John B, how do you know all of that?" Kiara smiled, making June roll her eyes, "Cause my dad said it, a million times." John B explained, "Yeah, that's fair."

"This is like really long. In the wrong weather it could get pushed around." Brainy explained, "Then we'll go at dead calm."

"So now, we just gotta wait around for the right weather." JJ looked at the sky, also helping June up, "Today is obviously not that day."

June grunted, shrugging, "Let's wait for one then."

"It's not?" June scoffed, "Oh, Jesus. No effing duh, Jay." He rolled his eyes at her response, "Shut up." JJ threw a grocery bag at her. "While your doing nothing, get ready to help me and Pope."

"Yeah, yeah." June grumbled at she stood up, walking too find better shoes.

June always adored Pope's dad. He was genuine even though his words weren't always the sweetest. She knew he loved Pope and she wished she felt that way with her dad.

Pope treated her like a sister in all ways. She remembered the first time she met Pope's mother, she immediately commented on how pretty she was and brought her in for food.

Her dad was like a second father and Pope was the brother she never had.

"You three get these groceries to figure eight. Get straight back when you're done. No fishin', Rich folks don't wanna wait for you lazy sons of— Oh, JJ, thank you," he said before continuing, "Don't make the young lady carry to much either understand?" June smiled, "Oh never. Wouldn't wanna hurt her precious nails," JJ pointed at her long acrylics only too get a slap on the neck, "Ow!"

"Doesn't even look like the storm hit there." Pope pointed out. "That's because they got generators, bro. Get used to it." JJ explained, "Waist of air. The fucking polar bears are dying but guess what's more important? Generators, money and dick," June dead-panned as she took a hit of her blunt.

"And then they say the juice will be out all summer at the cut." JJ sighed, "It's nice too be a kook."

"If I'm being completely honest with you, it's just a whole bunch of two-faced pricks surviving off mommy and daddy." June added, earning a chuckle from JJ, "Lucky bastards."

"I'll go with you, Pope." June said, handing the weed too JJ. "Love you, Juns." JJ began too chase her, already half shit faced off alcohol. "Ew, fuck off." June grunted, as JJ tried hugging her tightly, lifting the shorter girl up. "Stop fighting and grab the groceries."

June followed him onto the sand and laughed at his struggle to hold every single bag, "Lemme help."

"But, what do you think about the gold?" June asked, squinting slightly from the sunlight in the corner of her eye. "Well, I think it's complicated."

"Complicated like your scholarship?" She smiled, nudging him. "That is a whole other level of complicated." Pope laughed, "Oh please. Your so gonna get in. I think that earning your scholarship is the best way possible." June said, Pope smiling at his best friends level of interest.

"Your gonna drop the beer," Pope pointed, laughing at her squeal as one dropped, making an effort too catch it.

From a distance, you could see them. Especially from the view of three kooks.

Camilla slightly bent over on her boyfriend, Rafe, as he instructed her too hit the golf ball, "Okay, now put your strength and swing." She nodded as she did it, and as it landed in somebody else's lawn she cheered.

"Hey, come on, now!" The older man yelled, "Shut up!"

Camilla laughed as Rafe high fived her, wrapping a slow arm around her. "Shouldn't be taking so long anyway."

Camilla swung her head at the familiar voice of a girl, "Oh shit!" The brunette laughed, "Gross." She laughed, nudging the boy next too her.

"What?"

June moved her hair off her shoulder as Pope and her walked only too be filled with voices around them,

"Look what we have here!" Camilla smiled fakely, earning a wide eye from June.

"What's up?" Camilla strutted behind her boyfriend and infront of June as she got in her face, "How much for one of those beers?"

"They're not for sale." Pope grabbed onto June's wrist as they kept walking but, the glare she had on Camilla never left.

"Oh, wait, wait. You can just give us one then, right?" June laughed at that, "Are you illiterate? They're not for sale." She pushed his golf club off of Pope, now grabbing his wrist as she led the way.

"Watch it." Camilla snapped, "Get out of our way." June grumbled back.

"Listen. Your not listening to us. Um, You've got so many, bro. And we've got nothing." Rafe said, "They're not even mine. They're already paid for."

"Already paid for? What the hell? You probably stole em right?" June jumped at the sound of glass shatterering, "What the hell? You owe me for that!"

"Dude, I don't owe you shit, Pogue."

A grunt was heard from the blonde as Rafe stumbled back, "Come on we just want one of these beers!"

Camilla grabbed June's wrist, forcing the bag out her hand. "Get the fuck off of me!" A loud slap was heard as Camilla stumbled, holding her red cheek. "You fucking cunt!" Camilla stepped up, "No, fuck you!" June pushed her fully down now,

"Get off of him Topper!" June tried too rush of too them but the feeling of two strong arms wrapping around her body was felt as she flew to the ground, hitting her head on a rock. "Stay out of this!"

"Shit! My bad man." Topper chuckled too Pope.

June put a hand too her head as blood dripped down her forehead. And Camilla smiled cruelly at her, handing her boyfriend a golf club. She snapped out of it quickly, ignoring the weak sensation in her body.

"Let go of him!" Her voice croaked, but she was ignoring, Camilla had ran off too get their golf ball as her boyfriend ordered, as they would "take care of them."

Her head turned towards the rock in the ground, her reflex spoke before her mind.

A wince was heard from Rafe as he stumbled, Topper's mouth dropped at the bloody rock in her hand. Tears streamed down her eyes as she ran too her best friend, "Leave him alone. Fucking racist. How would daddy feel, huh? Isn't that what you want? Your daddy? Too bad, I guess." She shrugged, as she watched his hold his head.

"Pope? You okay?" June tried to help him up but the grunts from him only got louder, as he held his body in pain.

At her words, he stood up. "Come on man. Let's just go." Topper said. "No. You Pogues need too be given a lesson."

Rafe quickly grabbed June by her wrist, pulling her up from the ground, "Get off of her!" Pope grunted, trying too get up, body his body said other wise.

A punch was felt in her cheek, and stomach as she fell too the ground, in a cry. "Stay down bitch!"

"Hey! Let's go! Let's go, man!" Topper screamed, "Stay off figure eight, Pogue."

June could only see the light sun shining on her as she closed her eyes, turning her head as blood trickled out her mouth.

Pope saw the girl from the corner of his eye and his heart dropped even further than before. He managed her crawl too her in a scared stare as he held his hip in pain.

"Hey! Hey! June!" He lightly tapped her face, tempting to run and get JJ but his mind told him too stay. "They're gone it's just me!"

June opened her eyes slowly, and tears started to form as she saw his bruised face. She completely ignored her pain as she reached up too hug him, "I'm so sorry." She cried. "Stop it, hey." Pope felt an ache in his stomach as he heard her whimpers.

"Can you walk?" He put a hand behind her head and jumped at her painful cry. The sight of blood on his hands make him truly understand.

They couldn't get away with this.

"Dude you are not going too believe what just happened to me, man!" JJ yelled in happiness, as June looked at the floor of the boat. "Whoo! That was the best 100 bucks I've ever made!"

"When I say count me in on all these grocery deliveries, I mean it!" JJ was oblivious to what was going on, "Dude, what's up with you? You good?"

JJ immediately sat up at the sight of the bruises spread along his face, "Yo, what happened to your face dude?"

"Jesus!" JJ yelled in shock. "What happened?"

"Rafe and Topper jumped me. And June." JJ immediately turned his name at the mention of her name, "Jumped you? What? J-June?" He swung his head around at the mention of his sister with her head too the ground.

She jumped at the feeling of him grabbing her arm, looking at the cuts and bruises. Her face was even worse. The large cut on the corner of her forehead was completely visible, the large slit on her lip was lightly bleeding as she bit it, and the purple marks on her cheek and eye made his heart ache for her. His sister. The girl he practically grew up with was hit by a somebody he hated.

A light cry that escaped out of her mouth made him immediately wrap an arm around her, June seeking comfort in him as he continued too talk, "So what are you gonna do?"
