CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE - PERSPECTIVE

KARASUNO WAS CURRENTLY HAVING A practice match with Tokonami, with Tokonami in the lead by ten points. Yamaguchi let out a breath.

"It doesn't matter if this is our usual gymnasium, Shinzen's gymnasium, or Tokyo Stadium. You need to train your body to be able to do the same thing at any location."

TWEEEEET!

Yamaguchi ran forward as he did his jump float serve. However, it ended up being an out in which Yamaguchi groaned in irritation.

The whistle blew once more as Hideaki jumped up and did his jump serve. The ball was received. "Sorry!" Hideaki apologized.

"Got it!" Sugawara reassured as he saved the ball.

"Nishinoya!" Daichi called out as Nishinoya jumped up. He tosses the ball towards Hideaki who spikes the ball, but ended up getting blocked.

"Sorry!" Nishinoya said.

"Don't worry about it!" Tanaka told him.

Tanaka was up to serve as he bounced the ball up and down before looking up with concentrated eyes. He throws the ball in the air before jumping up to spike. However, the ball ends up hitting the net, shocking Narita and Hideaki who were nearby. Tanaka screamed in irritation.

The final set ended, with Tokonami coming out victorious.

"Hell yeah! We managed to win a set against Karasuno!"

"We can go to nationals now!"

"One lap of diving drills!" Daichi called out.

"Right!"

"Wait, they actually have penalties?"

"Oh, we just do this all the time." Daichi answered as everyone began their diving drills.

"After getting so used to losing at the Tokyo training camp, I get the urge to do these even when we win..." Hideaki commented.

"Right?" Sugawara agreed.

"Yeah, we sorta messed up the serves this set." Ukai laughed before turning to Tokonami's coach, having an intense aura around him. "May we play another set?!"

"O-Of course."

"So you actually signed the contract! Marvelous! I get to play on the same side as you again!" Oikawa cheered as he tackled Hideaki into a hug.

"I'm slowly starting to regret my decision..."

"Mean, Aki-chan!"

Hideaki was currently at a yogurt shop with Oikawa and Iwaizumi, telling them about his decision.

"I'm really proud of both you and Shittykawa." Iwaizumi admitted. "Have you told your brother or your team yet?"

"I'm gonna give Shun a call later. As for my team..." Hideaki paused as he sighed. "I'll most likely tell them after nationals is over and done with. Actually, to tell you the truth, I think I'm the only third-year on my team who's going to continue with volleyball."

"Really?" Iwaizumi questioned.

"Yeah. Daichi has already told me he's planning on going into the police force. Suga's great with children, so I imagine he's going to become a teacher, or something like that. I mean, he's like the aunt who shows up drunk at a family reunion." Hideaki chuckles at the thought. "And I have no clue what Asahi wants to do."

"By the way, Hajime." Iwaizumi gums in reply as Hideaki looked towards him. "Are you sure you don't want to continue volleyball?"

"I don't think going pro is for me." Iwaizumi admitted. "I'll be cheering you and Shittykawa on, however."

"It won't be the same without you, but I guess it can't be helped." Hideaki said. "Hey, Tลru, Hajime?"

"What is it?"

"I love you guys." Hideaki told them, causing both Iwaizumi and Oikawa to give him smiles.

"You love me more though, right, Aki-chan?"

"Debatable."

Oikawa yelped, clearly offended. "Aki-chan!" He exclaimed.

"There were some times when I wish I had dated Hajime instead." Hideaki admitted.

"That's cruel, Aki-chan!"

Iwaizumi let out a long sigh before he chuckled at his two childhood friends.
