montezuma was an only child to bethany
and thomas kekker: college-sweethearts.
he was raised by both of his parents until
the ripe old age of 16 - after they died in a
fatal card accident while on a business trip ,

his uncle, robert kekker, then became his
legal guardian after breaking the news to
his young nephew about what happened.
monty felt guilty for their death, after he
and his father had had an argument before
they set off and hit the road, and it is still
something that lingers in the back of his
mind, even now, at a time such as this ,

bobby allowed monty to drop out, only
on one condition: that he worked for him.
and he did. monty enjoyed it - it was in
a garage fixing up busted cars and trucks,
and it was dirty work, challenging at times,
but he heavily enjoyed every moment of it ,

bobby surprised monty with a trip to the
dog-pound after figuring that perhaps he
would benefit from a furry companion. he
settled on his current dog, rockstar, and
they are hard to separate, even now ,

monty's personality is one that all may
not favour. he's a bit of jerk, which he's
put down to his life growing up, and the
fact that he lost his parents at a young age.
he's a massive flirt with just about anyone,
but he does also mean well - he's protective
of those around him that he cherishes and
loves: such as friends, family, and rockstar ,

when it comes to the apocalypse and what
he can bring to the table: he's handy, and
he's a pretty good cook. he's worked on
and with motorbikes, card, trucks, vehicles
in general - and he's good with a spanner
or a wrench if one needs firing up to get it
on the road again. physical combat is also
one of the few things montezuma is good
with - he took up boxing when he was in
his early teens, as a means of letting out
his anger, and fighting is a thing he enjoys ,

but, despite his hardened manner, if he
was tasked with killing another person,
the chances of it happening is slim. if it
was to be an animal, perhaps, maybe he
would - for survival - but he would still
feel guilty and possibly throw up a meal
or two after doing the deed, or maybe, he
would straight up refuse for a short while ,

when the bombings and panic happened,
monty grabbed what he could. it wasn't
much, as he too was panicked about the
whereabouts of bobby - he didn't want
to get too far without his uncle, so he only
packed a small amount of items. he used
his old school rucksack and threw a few
cans of dog food in, his useless phone he
only packed solely for the memories that
it holds, and his metal baseball bat ,

margaret had an ordinary childhood - the
only difference was her family was giant.
she was one of seven siblings, plus both of
her parents, as well as two family dogs, and
a feline friend that came and went daily ,

she was academic, proving to be successful
with her grades throughout the schooling
she did - and she excelled in all of her
lessons and exams. maggie was, as one may
say, a model student alike her brothers and
sisters before and after her. in due time,
maggie left school and attended college to
become a teacher, after enjoying the simple
and small interactions she had while she
was growing up with classmates as well as
her siblings. margaret studied hard. she
refused to party or have any relationships
and put her nose into her education and
her homework. she was always on time
with everything - attendance, handing in
her assignments, even college trips out ,

it was only after maggie left college with
a full degree that she took a break from
the learning, the constant reading and
writing - and she took a few years off to
enjoy the world. she met someone. he
was a lovely french man from a little town
she had stopped in for the night after
having gotten lost with her directions, and
he guided her in the right way. maggie did
adore this gentle interaction and on her
way back she dropped by to thank him for
his kind gestures - and he asked to take
her on a small dinner date before she was
to depart and fly back to america. maggie
did agree and she enjoyed every second of
it. it was like the books: love at first sight ,

with her feet firmly back in america, she
pursued work. she asked a number of schools
to possibly think about hiring her and she
provided them with all of her certificates
and grades, but she had no luck and she
decided to fly back to france - and in her
mind, she had the idea of possibly moving
out there and pursuing her dream at being
a teacher in france - teaching languages,
or art, or literature. her mind was racing
with ideas. she stumbled into the french
man she had went on a date with: louis ,

louis was pleased to see maggie again and
he expressed his fondness of her, before
taking her across his town and showing
her every nook, crevice and cranny. and
maggie fell in love with the location. she
fell pregnant, which was a scare for her,
but louis was very understanding and he
proposed - which, again, was yet another
scare for margaret, but she said yes ,

she came to term but sadly lost the baby
a few hours after she was born. she fell
sick and deteriorated rapidly within a
matter of hours. margaret was devastated
and wished to move back to america to
spend time with her family, with louis ,

once they had finally settled, maggie
once again fell pregnant. she was worried
this time round - but, after hoping and
preying like hell, their some nathan was
born. he was perfect in the couples eyes ,

they both raised him well. they allowed
their son to express himself however he
liked. life was perfect for a number of
years - nathan grew up quickly and he
was getting ready for school in the blink
of an eye. but now, at the age of 12 years
old, he's dealing with a new terrible life ,

louis worked in the hospital in the city.
the day the bombings occurred was a day
in which maggie was a horrible mess. she
got word of the bombings, as she wasn't
sure what the rumble of the ground was
and when she found out that the bombs
had wiped out the majority of the living
in the cities, maggie was distraught ,

maggie gathered what she could, with the
help of her son who had been sent home
from school early and she gathered up as
much items as she could - ones that she
deemed as useful: spare clothes, a torch,
some matches, food that wouldn't go off
and wasn't too much of a pain to open ,

first aid and being calm in some situations
is what maggie is good for. she's also
excellent with kids, having one of her own ,

a great character with a goofy accent:
to him anyway, and his mother was, and
still is, amazing. nathan was kicked out
of school early when the bombings began,
and he biked back home to find maggie,
his mother, distraught and in tears: only
to find out his father had died in them ,

he was insanely worried about why his
mother was panicked and packing things
into bags, but he went along with it and
he helped out the best he could. the both
of them had spare clothes, suitable shoes,
some light food to carry, and each other ,

life growing up for norman was odd.
despite his parents attempt at giving
him a sibling, tests always came back
as negative or a complication arose
where they'd loose the baby after a
short period of a few months. norman
basically grew up in the middle of
nowhere - in a little remote farmland
cabin out on the woods, on the edge of
town, but moved inpand when norman
came of schooling age as both shamus
and kelly, his father and mother, felt
as if he'd benefit from an actual teacher
and education rather than them trying
to teach him how to read and write ,

norman's life was considerably normal
until he was in his teens, when it came
for high school - and he straight up
refused to go and be lectured by teachers
for hours on end while being seated at a
desk with a paper and pen in hand. his
mother hated the idea of it, but shamus
saw a flaw in the plan and before long,
norman was working alongside his dad ,

shamus was a prison officer, working
just out of town at a small local prison,
and norman was dragged along. his job
was to sweep up the place and clean up
after everyone else: inmates included ,

norman soon quit when he was almost
mid-twenties, leaving with his middle
fingers held high to the sky and cameras,
and he returned home. his mother fell ill
with something terminal, but norman's
new work meant he couldn't see her too
often as he was ridiculously busy working
and trying to pay his rent and bills in his
tiny, run-down apartment he managed
to get ahold of. his father called one day to
tell him his mother had passed, and that
a funeral was planned - and that he was to
come up, no matter what, and he did. he
was going to come up anyway, he didn't care
for work at the time as he has just lost hi
mother - and his father needed support ,

but, shamus being stubborn, refused it,
and he sent norman packing. shamus then
turned to alcohol and cigarettes as a way
of dealing with the pain of loosing his wife,
and norman had to witness it all unfold,
until it killed him. and yet again, norman
was burying yet another one of his parents ,

after norman sorted his life out, he met a
pretty woman his age. her name was leah
and she worked as a waitress in the towns
dainty italian restaurant, and before long,
after a number of dates and years of being
together, norman asked leah to marry him ,

they had a daughter together: riot, which
norman quit his job for, to stay at home as
a full-term father. but, alike many couples,
leah and norman fell out of love and leah
soon filed for a divorce. norman had won
custody over riot and bought the both of them
a house best suited for just the two of them ,

when the bombings happened in the cities
norman was beyond worried. riot was out of
state, on some trip with some friends, so her
whereabouts where, and are, unknown. and
he doesn't know if she's dead or alive ,

norman left a note for his daughter on the
fridge, just in case she returned, and it read
that he was going to find her eventually. he
didn't take much with him when he left, just
the keys to his truck, a picture off the fridge
of him and riot when she was younger, and
a half-empty packet of cigarettes alongside
his lighter that riot got for him with her
name etched onto it. he figured he might as
well carry light - unsure of what's to happen ,

he's thankful his father taught him how
to skin animals and track, as he knows
full well that he won't be able to rely on
cans and tins of food to get by on ,

immanuel was born to two loving parents,
and six older siblings. he had two younger
siblings as well. his father was a truck driver
and his mother was a hair dresser, and they
loved him dearly. immanuel spent a lot of his childhood looking after his siblings, caring
for his younger siblings and consoling his
older siblings when they struggled through breakups. he was smarter than his brothers
and sisters and therefore would also help
with their homeworkc and he grew up to be
an incredibly smart and hard-working, yet
also quiet young man. he studied botany in
university, which caused him to have a great
interest in bush medicine and healing herbs,
and during this time, he worked part time at
a camping and hiking store - which is where
an interest for the wilderness soon developed ,

immanuel has been a mellow young man
for his whole life, with a gentle outlook on
life. he's considered as 'fragile' as well as
'weak-willed' to some, due to the fact that
he searches for the easy path to life and he
cracks under pressure. but, immanuel is a
very genuine person, one who rarely lies and
cares deeply for those around him. immanuel
considers himself quite an honourable person
and follows a code of trust and care, which
can mean decision making is a little difficult ,

his love for the wilderness blossomed a new
skill: hiking. he became an avid hiker and he
is pretty well-versed in physical exercise, as
well as rock climbing, kayaking and several
other hiking-adjacent activities. medicine,
specifically bush-medicine, is another key
skill of his. he's well-read on remedies in
which he can conjure up from forest flora ,

not only is he a weak-willed human, his
stomach isn't exactly the strongest either.
he is the type to faint at the sight of blood,
and so killing is certainly not an option ,

his background of hiking and wilderness
exploration provided him with essentials
that would certainly come in handy - his
hiking pack, packed with a bedroll, a light,
cooking gear, a map and a knife. while he
may not be mentally ready: all his gear
may be enough to sway someone's mind ,

end of the spectrum, often struggling to
raise their three children. her father worked
as a part-time bookstore clerk, and a guard

didn't have much time to take care for them,
leaving the childcare responsibilities to her
older twin brothers, dave and wren: both of
whom adored florence. her parents eventually
managed to send her to school, and she tried
her hardest with it. her father died in a car
accident, which struck her mother with grief
and heartbreak. her brother, dave, was so
angered and saddened by the loss that he ran
away from home. this all took a toll on her
family, and wren and florence tried their
hardest to manage with what had happened ,

she managed well with school, despite the
situations happening at home, and even
managed to get into university. she hasn't
any idea as to where her family is now ,

florence is what you'd consider as a grown
and matured, resilient young woman who
is calm and well-liked, easily trusted too.
she's responsible and tends to worry about
matters in the world. she's kind and will
always help others, and when there is any
form of trouble, and things get ruined, she
will be the first to pick up the broken pieces ,

florence can be a little too trusting, while
not naive, she tends to look at the good
side of people, instead of being way of them ,

gardening and growing plants is one of
strong suits, and she has a soft spot for
animals. she's the type who would not
take the life of another, even in a life or
death situation, but with time, alike many
others, this view on life may change ,

when the reports filed in about the end
of the world, and the dead walking, she
grabbed a duffel bag with a bottle of
water inside, some clothes, a dog lead, some
canned food and a foldable pillow-blanket ,

hector grew up as an only child, having
lost his sister when she was only 9 years
old after she fell sick and was unable to
fight off whatever riddled her body. he
excelled in school, and always has his head
in the game when it came to his education,
school work and his homework. he was
one of the top students, if not the top, and
was what many would call a "golden child" ,

after leaving high-school, hector took a small
gap year to travel, which actually only lasted
a few months as he didn't want to miss on too
much back home, and so he jumped into
college - studying to be a teacher. he spent
every waking day of his schooling with just
reading and partaking in lessons, ensuring
his work was in on time. he didn't partake in
any parties or flaunt about with females in
his classes. he fell in with a group of bad
friends a little later when he then took part
in another year - and they convinced him to
go to a party with them. well, it ended with
him being 'white girl wasted' and in a cell of
a local station for a night before he was bailed
by his mother, who was pissed at him ,

lisa came into hectors life after he left. he
was settled with a job, and the pair went
on a number of dates before making them
'official'. and after a number of years, they
married. eventually, oliver came along and
he was the best thing that could have ever
happened to high hector and lisa. the three
of them had a splendid life. hector continued
his work at the school, which oliver ended
up going to when he was of age, and lisa
decided to quit hers and stay at home and
be a full time mother - cooking and then
cleaning for the family, watching them all
grow as individuals. life was spectacular ,

until of course, the bombings came. when
it was announced and children were sent
home, hector raced home with oliver and
found lisa acting in a bizarre way. she was
erratic and aggressive and ended up trying
to attack the both of them. hector ordered
for oliver to run and call the police, and
then hide with the neighbours. hector then
killed his wife, which took some time and
a lot of effort for him to conjure up, before
fleeing from his house with oliver and two
backpacks with enough resources to last ,

co-operation is a thing hector is great
with. he's worked in a school so he's had
to converse with adults, negotiate with a
number of parents, and their snotty kids,
so communication and team-work is a
walk in the park for him. he's smart too ,

hector carries a bag with him. oliver has
his own, with his own belongings in, but
hector packed some clothes for himself,
some packets of food like sweets and chips,
his wedding ring and a handy flashlight ,

their grandma, due to their deadbeat dad
being absent. she picked up on small jobs in
and around the neighbourhood to help out
with her brother, who was only eight years old
at the time, and she passed up for the chance
to go to a prestigious college due to financial
issues, and so she settled for a closer college
and took a few gap years to figure out finances
due to the fact that her grandmother didn't
have the money, and the funds that her mother
put aside hadn't much in either, and eris had
decided to give that money away to her brother ,

eris graduated at the age of 25. she picked up
a job from a family friend as a mechanics
assistant, a spontaneous decision on eris' part,
but it's where she obtained nicknames from
her peers while working: how she would just
chew up and spit out obnoxious customers ,

eris is a character anyone would want as
a companion in a time like this. she's good
with a gun and knows basic combat skills,
having done kickboxing in the old life. she's
good with manual labour, like lifting objects,
and is somewhat okay with some mechanics ,

with his mother and father, and a number
of brothers and sisters, and eventually his
grandfather after the death of his wife, his
grandmother. his house was a massive mess
of chaos all the time, bubbling all day every
day, so moose shut himself in his bedroom
for a lot of his childhood - only coming out
for school and to eat. his family moved often
due to the fact that there was so many of
them and they struggled with the housing ,

maverick's a lovely young boy, and after
he gets accustomed to somebody he can
be a handful, to say the least. maverick's
family didn't have much for radio's or any
sort of television - as his mother thought
they would brain wash her children, so the
house didn't have a single piece of tech ,
