EXTRA SCENE - REI AND KUROKO

REI WALKED INTO SEIRIN'S GYM to see them practicing. He saw his friend sitting down on the bench as he walked over to him. "Yo, Kuro-kun." He greeted, making his friend's teammates shriek.

"Shiro-kun." Kuroko greeted.

"W-When did you get here?" A red head exclaimed with shock.

"You must be Kagami-kun, Kuro-kun's partner." Rei stated. "And I was here the whole time."

"Another Kuroko?!" Seirin's basketball team shrieked in surprise.

"They haven't gotten used to your low presence, Kuro-kun?" Rei asked disappointed. "My teammates have gotten used to it by now. At least, I think they did."

"Everyone, this is Oshiro Rei, an old friend of mine." Kuroko introduced the black haired male. "He's also apart of a big prodigy group."

"Another prodigy, huh?" Kagami said. "How about a one-on-one with me?"

"Sorry, Kagami-kun. I don't play basketball." Rei responded, leaving Kagami and the rest of the Seirin team in shock.

"Shiro-kun's a volleyball player, Kagami-kun." Kuroko explained.

"A volleyball player?" Hyuga questioned. "How do you know Kuroko then?"

"Kuro-kun and I met in Tokyo when my junior high team had a tournament. It's actually how I met the rest of the Generation of Miracles too." Rei responded.

"A volleyball version of the Generation of Miracles?" Izuki questioned. "Never thought one existed."

"Why are you here anyway?" Kagami asked.

"Kagami!"

"My volleyball team recently lost to a powerhouse in our Inter-High a few days ago. I contacted Kuro-kun and asked if he can help me make my misdirection stronger." Rei answered.

"And I'll do that, Shiro-kun." Kuroko said as he stood up. "But first, you're gonna play some basketball with my team."

"Huh?!" Rei exclaimed. "Kuro-kun are you serious? Basketball isn't my main sport!"

"But you know the basics, correct?" Kuroko asked as Rei sighed.

"Fine. But I can't promise you I'll be good at it." Rei told his friend.

Kagami smirked. "A volleyball player playing basketball. This should be interesting." He said.

"Senpai, can I borrow this? Thanks." Rei said, taking a basketball from Hyuga and throwing it at Kagami's head, making Furihata scream in shock.

"What was that for?!" Kagami exclaimed, rubbing the back of his head.

"Sorry." Rei apologized. "You just reminded me of a certain orange haired idiot on my team and I've been holding back on throwing a volleyball to his head."

"Are you really sorry?" Kagami questioned.

"Not really."

"You bastard!"

"Somehow he irritates me more than Kuroko does." Kagami thought.

A practice match soon began with Kuroko on the first-year team and Rei with the second-years and Kiyoshi.

"So all Kuro-kun does is misdirect the ball for your team, correct?" Rei asked.

"Yeah, basically." Koganei replied.

"Well, basketball isn't my main sport, so I apologize if I don't make us win. But I'll try." Rei told them.

The practice match began as both Rei and Kuroko were passing to their teammates. Soon enough, Kuroko's team ended up winning as Rei breathed heavily.

"I feel like I'm about to pass out..." Rei breathed out. "I'm not used to using my misdirection so much."

"I've actually been curious, how does misdirection work in volleyball exactly?" Izuki asked.

"Oh, I'm one of the liberos on my team." Rei explained. "I use my misdirection to confuse my opponents. Mostly, my job is to have the opponents think that my team only has one libero since I'm invincible on court, and then I get to see their shocked faces when I appear to receive the ball. Especially when we play teams we haven't played against before."

"I always love it when they look at each other and go, 'Was he always on the court?' It feels amazing." Rei finished.

"What about your prodigy group?" Kagami asked.

"The Inhumane Players. We may be unknown to you all, since you have the Generation of Miracles, but to the volleyball world, we're not unknown." Rei replied.

"Mine and Kuro-kun's story is pretty much similar. I watched my friends change during our second-year of junior high. It was also around the time I met Kuro-kun and the rest of the Miracles." Rei added.

"Akashi-kun pretty much threatened your captain until he found out your group played volleyball instead of basketball." Kuroko stated.

"Kawa-kun and Akashi-kun became good friends after that." Rei laughed at the memory. "Not to mention they have a similar talent."

"Akashi-kun never got along with anyone. So I was shocked when he got along with Kawamura-kun."

"Same with Kawa-kun."

Later, both Kuroko and Rei decided to stop by Maji Burger. Rei has never been there and Kuroko mentioned that their vanilla shakes were amazing.

"Hey, Kuro-kun. The Winter Cup is coming for you guys, right?" Rei asked, sipping his milkshake.

"Yes."

"Well, I wish your team luck." Rei said. "Hopefully you'll win."

"I wish you luck as well, Shiro-kun. I hope your team makes it to nationals." Kuroko stated as he looked over to his friend. "You're still blaming yourself, aren't you? About your team's lost?"

"You weren't there, Kuro-kun. No matter what we did, it still wasn't enough." Rei replied.

He clenched his fist. "It wasn't enough to stop Oikawa and Haya-kun, and you know if we get stronger, Seijoh will get stronger as well. Especially after their lost against Shiratorizawa."

"Are you doubting your team, Shiro-kun?"

"Of course notβ€”"

"Because it sounds like you are." Kuroko interrupted. "I may not know what your team is like personally, but from what you've told me they seem like a strong team with talented players. They'll overcome this."

"It's justβ€”" Rei began. "All of the third-years... Daichi, Suga, Asahi, and even Kiyoko. They came back to the team with a new goal to go to spring nationals. I don't want their decision to stay on the team to be pointless."

"I don't think it'll be pointless for them." Kuroko told him. "They could've gone into retirement early, but instead they stuck around for the team."

"I also don't want to disappoint Noya-senpai." Rei continued. "I may have been apart of a prodigy group. But as a libero, I'm still learning. Noya-senpai obviously knows Karasuno a lot more than I do, so he can connect with them easier. I don't want him to worry about us when he graduates next year."

"I'm sure he's not disappointed." Kuroko said.

"You really know the right things to say, do you, Kuro-kun?"

"I try, Shiro-kun."

Rei smiled. "I better head back to my hotel room. It's gonna be a long trip back to Miyagi and I still got practice tomorrow." He said. "You should come see me play sometime, Kuro-kun."

"I'll think about it. Perhaps when basketball season is over."

Rei finally arrived back to the hotel that he was staying at as he laid down on the bed.

"Daichi-san, Suga-san, Asahi-san... They came back because they had faith in the second-years and us first-years. They want to make to spring nationals as a team." Rei thought, narrowing his eyes in concentration.

"And that's exactly what we're gonna do." Rei added in his head.

A/N: To be quite honest, I was about to give up on this chapter and just write a character wiki for Rei but I decided to keep going. So I apologize if this chapter was short.
