CRESCENT COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN, or simply known as CCAD, is a private visual arts school in Seoul, South Korea. It has a high school section and a pre-university section, in which the latter provides a 1-year foundations course that are open for intakes in January and September.

ＨＩＳＴＯＲＹ

CCAD was first founded on May 31st, 1978 as Cho Seung High School in Seoul, South Korea. After the founding father of the same name passed away in 1999, his son Cho Ryuhyo took up the position as chairman and decided to change the academy to a more a visual arts-oriented school as well as its name to the now known CRESCENT COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN.

Eventually in 2005, Cho expanded the school even more and added the 1-year foundations course as a pre-univesity programme. The programme is offered in all nine of the departments that are included in the high school section.

ＳＹＳＴＥＭ

Like any other Korean high school, the school year is divided into two semesters. It begins during the beginning of March and ends in the middle of July (1st semester) and starts again in August, ending in mid February (2nd semester).

The foundations course also has two semesters but are able take in students in either semesters which are January and September. Students of this course normally are not graduates from the high school section.

Students of the high school section are to wear the compulsory uniforms while foundation students do not need to and are able to wear casual clothing to classes. This helps differentiate the two sections as the students do not have separately assigned buildings and share most of the campus together.

ＦＩＮＡＮＣＩＡＬ ＡＩＤ

Since the tuition fees are quite costly, the school also offers a scholarship programme for aspiring students in both the high school section and foundations course. these are the scholarships available.

• 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣
Open for all sections. Available for the top 10 students in each grade in academic terms. Foundations students are chosen via reference of their high school academic results. This scholarship varies from 35%~100% depending on how good are the results.

• 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣
Open for 2nd to 3rd years in high school. Available for the top 5 students in either grade in visual arts terms. Chosen at the end of their previous academic year. This scholarship is varies from 50%~100% depending on the ranking.

• “𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛”
Open for 1st years in high school and foundation courses. Available for the top 5 students in visual arts terms. chosen via their entrance exams' portfolios. This scholarship varies from 50%~100% depending on the ranking.

ＳＵＢＪＥＣＴＳ

The high school section includes the compulsory core subjects as Mathematics, Korean, Physical Education, History, Geography, Second Language and Sciences. Other than that, they teach the four main respective art classes significant for each department.

The foundations course do not need to study the compulsory core subjects but instead have six main art classes, respective of their department.
