delilah wardwell is a bone witch, the first in the long line of witches on her mother's side of her family.

delilah has many nicknames, the most popular being lila. her younger sister always called her lah-lah, and someone who she once cared for immensely used to call her dela.

𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃𝒶𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎:
delilah is a quiet girl with a biting wit, someone who doesn't speak often but is sharp-tongued when she does. it keeps everything interesting, choosing when to speak rather than letting her mouth run wild. it's much more beneficial to listen than to talk incessantly, lila figures, and and then to use the knowledge she's gained in order to create an actual conversation. she's no fan of small talk. the younger girls, who she tutors from time to time depending on how busy she is, tend to find her intimidating, even though the bone witch's intentions are nowhere near intimidation. it's useless and time consuming to feign meaningless smiles, though, so she doesn't attempt to ease this reputation of her's. beneath this sharp existence, though, are pieces of a woman who tends to care deeply for those she gets close to, and who is terribly afraid to be hurt any more than she already has.

𝒷𝒶𝒸𝓀𝓈𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓎:
delilah june wardwell was born during a time of relative calm for the witches of the world, and so the first years of her life were peaceful, near-happy ones. her father didn't know her mother was a witch, didn't know delilah too had the magic running through her veins, until he began to suspect after a series of strange incidents surrounding his wife's ability to predict future events. he thought it simple coincidence until one day delilah's mother told her husband too much, and the man threw the woman, and her "devil child," out into the cold. delilah grew with a mother who could barely provide, and who, as soon as she was old enough, sent delilah off to school and then disappeared herself. lila wouldn't know until years later that her mom hadn't simply given her up; she had foreseen her own capture and had needed to get the girl as far away from her as she could. It was around this time that the mass persecution of witches began, and so delilah grew up in a world that hated her, but was hidden from this world in the safety of the schools of witchcraft. the one thing she's learned for certain through her time in this life is that nothing, no one, is a permanent fixture. everything, everyone, eventually disappears. most of the time, without warning.

𝒻𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓈:
delilah prides herself in not being afraid of much. everyone has something, though, and in the realm of physical beings, lila is terrified by deep water. she never learned to swim, and she knows too much exists that people cannot see. emotionally, whether she realizes it or not, delilah is afraid of commitment and being out of control.

𝒶𝓅𝓅𝑒𝒶𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒:
delilah is around five feet tall with a petite, narrow build. her skin is on the darker side of tan, hair curly and dark and falling just about to her shoulders. her eyes are a deep brown with flecks of green and gold, eyes she got from her mother. one distinguishing feature is a long , thin scar that stretches from her jaw to the base of her neck, a scar she received during a training fight gone wrong.
