The sound of a zipper almost echoed in the guest room of your family's home. You stood up the suitcase, ready to roll it out the door. You glanced at the electric clock sitting on the nightstand. A sigh passed your lips and you knew it was time to leave for the airport. You reached to open the door, only for someone on the other side to throw it open.

He was there, standing in the doorway; his blue eyes aching and desperate expression on his face. Your Tobio. He said not a word before capturing your lips in an immediate kiss. He knew he had missed the feeling of your lips on his, but finally having you back in his grasp felt far more satisfying than he anticipated. The man acted as if the only thing that mattered was the perfect moment you shared.

You held his shoulders, trying to stable yourself in reality. You melted in your lover's arms, just like you had years ago when he first kissed you. You felt tears burn in your eyes, though they were closed. The unspoken truth was clear to both of you. Tobio saw the mistakes he made. He almost let you slip through his fingers.

"Tobio, what are you doing here?" You asked breathlessly, nearly too stunned to speak when he pulled away.

"I love you more than anything," Tobio stated, looking you in the eyes. "I won't let you forget it again, (Y/n)." Tobio placed his rough and worn hands on your face, the feeling giving your soft butterflies. "I never meant to neglect you, I love you more than anything. I love you... Damnit, I love you! I want to spend the rest of my life with you!"

"Are you--" You paused, afraid to know the answer to your own question. "Are you asking me to marry you?"

"Maybe," He admits, leaning in to kiss you again. You held each close and tight, fearing if you were to let go you would lose each other again. Tobio had spent the last six and a half years loving you. Some thought your relationship would never last, but you proved them all wrong. After all the time you spent together, your love didn't dwindle. It didn't fade. It didn't falter. It didn't diminish. It simply got distracted.

The feelings Tobio had for you had only grown stronger; he was still madly in love with you. You were not sure what was going to happen next. Had Tobio asked you to marry him? How were you going to carve out more time for each other? Regardless of all the unknowns that laid before you, there was one thing you knew for sure... You were going to miss your flight.
