Episode fanfic title: Vengeance is Sweet.

///////////////////////000///////////////////////

(Cassandra's POV): A few weeks later, On the interceptor ship...

Aya and the rest of us comrades/friends/family aboard the Interceptor had finally found the Red Lantern homeworld of Shard, "I wonder if it's bigger than the Interceptor." "Unfortunately, it is," Razer responded sarcastically. I shook my head, secretly curious about the design of Shard, before I took out my phone and texted Kia about the planet soon-to-be-discovered as my uncle told his best friend:

"Kilowog, get ready. He orders, " It should be in view...Now!" As soon as a meteor moved away from us, the Red Lantern mothership/home showed us to them; Razer, on the other hand, was sitting with his arms crossed over his chest while I widened my eyes at the massivity of the mothership and gasped silently before I got up and did my best to look closer: "There it is...the Red Lantern mothership..." My uncle stands up to get closer to Aya while Kilowog watches. They want her to analyze Shard's resolution and maximum magnification. Hal and Kilowog are curious about the rock, but I feel a sense of danger creeping up my back whenever I look at it. I shake off the feeling and begin to observe and analyze it.

After their scanning process of what they know about the Red Lantern Corp, my uncle Hal and Kilowog seemed pleased to see where the entrance would be until I heard some slowly clapping, "Congratulations, after weeks of stalking Shard, you've unlocked the secret of when they dump their garbage... Can a total victory not be far behind." He deadpans at my uncle and Kilowog; I muffled a laugh as I glanced at him, which calmed me down, and watched him look back at it with his eyes filled with anger; at first, I was confused and wanted to question Razer. But I didn't say anything until I decided to break the ice: "It looks like a floating piece of shit with flashlights."

I finally said before glancing back at the Red Lantern house, making Kilowog and Hal snort loudly, along with Razer, who struggled by hiding his chuckles from the others: "I'm not hearing any better ideas coming out of your talk hole, Red." Kilowog gripped his fist until my uncle touched his shoulder, "Hold on. We're repairing the ship to use the ultra warp and bring reinforcements from O.A. He continues, "While we're waiting, I'm gathering as much intel as possible." " 'Without getting us killed or letting the Red Lanterns know we didn't die when they blew up that planet'?" "Exactly, Cassie." He proudly smiles.

I smirked, "Thanks." "Let me tell you what Atrocitus would do! Razer snaps and gets up from his seat while passing by me: "He'd come after you relentlessly; he'd keep coming until you were dead, even if it meant his death." Watching Razer express Atrocitus's intentions and behavior toward those who betray him and seek vengeance, I gulped and was anxious. Anxious enough to feel another sharp pain coming from my heart, "Ngh..." I groaned a bit, and I touched my chest to realize that the pills Aya mixed up with the sweet fruit weren't holding away the pain anymore. "I was a fool to join you... Razer said, "Soon, I'll be as useless as you two. You have no chance of victory if you aren't willing to die for your cause."

It made me feel worse that I met his eyes; they were filled with guilt. Now Razer has glanced at me, and I, feeling the worst pain coming from my illness, quietly turned away from the others before I balanced myself onto the console with one hand by taking slow, deep breaths: 'I took my new pills yesterday and earlier, but, ngh!... it's getting harder to hide it.' I cough a bit in worry, not realizing that everyone heard it and had their eyes on me. Before I could say anything, Razer was already floating away.

"You okay, Cassie? You look-" "I'm fine, Hal Jordan! Why wouldn't I be?" I snapped. My uncle and Kilowog widened their eyes in shock at how I acted defensively, making me feel guilty, and to make matters worse, they were both staring at me with suspicion. Before he or anyone could say anything, I stormed out of the room with anger written on my face. As soon as I got to my shared room, I headed straight to the bathroom by closing the door and let out my weak state in the mirror when I started coughing out blood.

(Narrator's POV): With Hal, Kilowog, and Aya...

"Cassie's been acting strange lately. Did something happen?" Kilowog asked with genuine concern, still puzzled by her defensive outburst.

Hal Jordan sighed, exchanging a worried glance with Aya and Razer. "I don't know, Kilowog. It's not like her to snap at me like that. Maybe we should give her some space. First, we have a mission, and then I'll talk to her afterward." Aya nodded in agreement. "I agree with Hal Jordan. Cassandra Jordan might be going through something difficult, and it's important to respect her privacy for now."

Meanwhile, in the shared room, after cleaning out the blood from the bathroom sink, Cassandra splashed some water onto her face to freshen up her pale complexion as she brushed her teeth again so no evidence of her blood could be found or she'd have people being suspicious of her well-being. Before heading to the medbay to review her medical records, Cassandra was stopped when she unexpectedly stumbled upon Razer near the engine room while working on something. Judging by the looks of it, he was up to no good, and as he used the secret device in his hand, Cassandra gasped in shock.

And it startled him since it was too late to hide; Razer & Cassandra widened their eyes in surprise to see one another. She narrows my silver eyes at the device in his hand: "You're acting suspicious."

"What does it matter to you?" Razer glared.

"It matters to me since I've already figured you'd be leaving to go murder Atrocitus." Cassandra lied by wanting to see if he took her 'reverse psychology' bait.

"How did-? It doesn't matter; I don't have time for this." Razer turns away, knowing she caught him, who sadly stares at him: "So you are leaving...?" Cassandra saw his shocked expression, noticing how he took the bait; Razer paused his walk before he got mad and sneered: "You tricked me into telling the truth!" She sighed softly and nodded, "Yeah, I did. I'm glad that I did because I now know Your truth."

"You have no right-" "And? Cassandra cuts Razer off his sentence. His betrayal hurt her worse than her heart condition: "I hope you think carefully about the actions when you go after Atrocitus, Razer the Red Lantern." She stood up to him strictly by saying his full name and lantern status in a severe tone as Razer balled his fist and red power ring abruptly to construct a spear toward her neck.

To prove to himself that he could frighten the human woman when, in reality, she was not afraid. Her heart quickened, and Cassandra stepped closer than their chest touched. She knew her death was coming sooner or later. And so, she waited, but that's when Razer did the unexpected as he realized what he was almost going to do to Hal Jordan's niece and unconstructed the spear away from her before she dashed towards his hand and held it in hers.

Razer froze at her actions and was about to say something rude, but Cassandra told him, "...If that's what you wish to do, and kill Atrocitus, then you can leave." She looked up at his hand and let it go as I looked up at him, whereas he looked over his shoulder to meet her silver orbs: "Do not worry. I won't say anything since it would be the last time you see me around." She whispered the last part before walking away, and no one knew that Aya had watched the entire thing.

In space...

Razer remained silent, haunted by the memory of when Cassandra confronted him about his scheming and decision to leave the team. Her sad expression continued to linger in his mind, deepening his doubts and confusion. Razer couldn't shake the feeling that his hasty actions had contributed to Cassandra's sadness, and he was at a loss to comprehend why she had allowed him to leave. Despite these thoughts, he snaps out of his reverie and exits to space. Aya soon appears before him.

Out of nowhere, Aya asked Razer, "Where are you going?"

"As I told Cassandra, it's none of your business," Razer replied coldly, indicating that he wanted to leave. However, Aya was determined to get an explanation out of him. She knew he was lying, so she floated before him and said, "Negative; you must have permission to leave the Interceptor. Explain yourself."

"I'm not a crew member; I just quit," Razer replied.

"Technically, you are a prisoner," Aya explained. "Now, please return to the ship. I don't want you to be misunderstood by the others."

Razer chuckled evilly and mocked her last sentence, saying, "Heh, 'Misunderstood'?" "Cassandra knows that you are not evil." She tells him that as soon as Cassandra's name is mentioned, the Red Lantern glares at the humanoid A.I. and says, "Then she doesn't know me at all."

He moves to leave, but Aya warns him: "You have forced me to alert Hal Jorda, Cassandra Jordan, and Kilowog. They will help me bring you back." Razer turns around and smirks, "No, you'll all be busy... fixing the ship." He tells Aya; he then detonates an explosion on the Interceptor and heads to the Shard alone, forcing Aya to return to the ship.

Back in the Interceptor...

Smoke came from the main room as Hal Jordan shouted: "I've got a quadruple failure on the Ultra warp reactor. He turns to his teammate and niece, "Is that possible?"

Cassandra was already on the move to fix the spot where Razer had planted the small explosion on top of a desk, with her special wires for her laptop to help out, "I already found out where I can fix the quadruple problem, but it will take a while or weeks to be well-repaired again!" She told her uncle as she typed away her special codes for it to fix the Interceptor. Kilowog, on the other hand, was pissed that the Ultrawarp was malfunctioning:

"Light support is offline, float controls are offline, and internal gravitational are offline. Hey Cass! Isn't there anything on this ship that is not offline?" Kilowog angrily panics, "Luckily, the internal gravitational is still working, but I could try to reboot the ship again with Aya's help since these special wires need two hands," Cassandra states. The mention of Aya was heard, and the door slid open to reveal her entering the room: "I am here. Scanning systems..." Aya begins to scan the ship as she explains in detail, "Contrary to the readouts, all functions are nominal to profile."

Cassandra widened in shock, realizing that Razer is not only good at fighting as a Red Lantern but also good with computers by tampering with them reversely: 'He seems to be smarter in technology than I thought.' "Maybe she's right. Hal Jordan then orders the girls, "Cycle the rocker switches for a hard reboot." After the reboot, the Interceptor was back online. Kilowog starts: "So, this is... what?" "A diversion, set...by Razer." Aya sadly informs the truth, making Hal and Kilowog look in disbelief, "We fell for the oldest trick in the book." He sits down in defeat.

Kilowog smashes his fist onto his hand: "Where's our little saboteur now? I want to thank him for his success." Aya answers him, "He left the ship...I don't know where he went." She sadly says, making Hal look at his niece, only to notice her face was tight with her shoulder tense up and 'use' her laptop to continue on more repairs: "Cassie, you're hiding something." All eyes were on Cassandra, who sighed before she shut off her computer and stood up: "He left back to the Shard so he could succeed in his secret plans." Cassandra truthfully explained.

"You knew that he would do this??" Hal exclaims.

"...Yes."

"And you didn't even think of informing us about it?" Kilowog snaps at her, who stares up at the alien pig with emotionless silver eyes, "I did try to stop him. However, I understood his reason for not opening up to you or anyone." Cassandra looks up to see Kilowog, who growls before he watches her move her seat backward as he puts both his fists on his torso while she listens to his words in fear: "Just because of your soft spot for that little saboteur doesn't mean he can get away with it!" "Kilowog, enough! She made a mistake, and it won't happen to her again. I'm sure she had her reason to do so. Now, let's find Razer. He's already back at the Shard right now." Hal finishes his order as the crew manages the Interceptor by flying towards the Shard.

At the Shard...

Atrocitus sees Razer enter his throne room through the doors. He evilly smirks in delight at what he has planned for him: "{Ah~ a lost son has returned to me.}" The Red Lantern leader says.

"I have." Razer was consumed by rage and hatred towards Atrocitus upon discovering his true intentions. He began formulating a plan to seek revenge by killing the leader and leaving no evidence of his return. However, Atrocitus is aware of Razer's plans and pretends to be pleased with his return to the Shard, and he begins to walk towards the leader. Lying through his fangs was Razer's best strength now:

"The Green Lanterns captured me; it was only a matter of time before I gained their trust. Razer explains his lie to him: "Then I blew up their ship." He added, only for Atrocitus to nod and turn around.

Atrocitus put his hands behind his back to stare at the throne room window, "{You did well, Razer.}"As the Red Lantern leader crosses his arms over his sizeable armored chest, Razer walks up the stairs toward him:

"I could only think being here...standing by your side... to do THIS!" Razer attacks, only for Atrocitus to punch him away with brute force. He groans from the impact and snarls at him while he notices his red power ring is already out of charge. Until Zox and Atrocitus soldiers enter the throne room with evil grins, "{Did you THINK that I would allow you to recharge your power ring without finding out about your True intentions?}

Atrocitus was displeased as Razer angrily stared at him: "{What you received was a mere light show. Now tell me, Razer. What have you been doing all this time?}"

With the Green Lantern crew...

"See? I told you he was a lost cause, and I say good riddance!" With his arms crossed in frustration, Hal looked on as Aya and Cassandra narrowed their eyes in response to Kilowog's words: "Who knows?! Maybe he has been planning this the whole time!" "If that were true, then why didn't he just kill us when he had the chance?" Hal Jordan demands an answer from his pig alien friend, who looks away with no solution to back him up, "Instead, he took the time to create a compelling diversion."

Cassandra felt tears whelming up her silver eyes while memories of her and Razer having midnight talks on books came to mind; she felt hurt but was still processing the information her uncle gave: 'Was it... a lie? Or was he pretending to kill Atrocitus so he could explain the real plan?... I can't...I just...' Her tears began to fall before she closed her laptop again by wiping them away when she heard Aya getting up from her seat and jumping over to her uncle and Kilowog. "Agreed. The program is nearly undetectable, and my subsystems are studying how it works even now." "I already know that Razer went to settle his score with Atrocitus, Aya. Cassandra explains, "He would need to be buried if... he does die."

She walks towards them with her laptop under her arm before Aya places a hand on her shoulder for comfort. Cassandra glances at her new friend with a sad smile: "Razer knows it, which is why we're going to stop him. Everyone gets ready to exit with the newfound plan. Cassandra comes, but instead, her uncle warns her: "Not this time." "I don't give a sh*t, Hal Jordan! I want to go, and you can't stop me!" But sadly, she agreed.

When the trio left, Cassandra returned to the Interceptor's main hanger and carefully piloted it behind them. After a few minutes, she finally places the ship on top of one of the giant rocks and then goes to the clothing machine to make herself a space suit. Once it was done, she put it on and exited.

Time skip in the Shard~

Cassandra was surprised to find the entrance to the Shard more accessible than she initially thought, given the numerous blind spots she noticed in the dimly lit hallway. The darkness engulfed the surroundings, creating an eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The walls were painted with a deep, inky black that seemed to absorb any light that dared to enter. The faint shadows dancing along the corridor made it difficult to discern any details.

The hallway differed from the rest of the building because of the red lines streaked across the obsidian walls. It looked like it had almost been cracked open, and the irregular patterns of the lines, resembling jagged scars, made Cassandra uneasy: "Damn, why does this place send me the shivers?" She had hidden behind a pillar and narrowly avoided being caught by one of the red guards. After they left, she ventured out to search for Razer, but the lines were not straight and were instead in spiral and intertwined cracks.

The deep crimson color of these lines is ominous and unsettling, reminiscent of dried blood stains left behind by an unknown and evil force. The red lines are both a focal point and a source of disquiet, emitting a faint glow in the dim light that casts an eerie and sinister atmosphere over the entire corridor. Fortunately, the guards are unaware of Cassandra's presence, but their presence only intensifies the unease that washes over anyone who dares to traverse this dark and foreboding passage.

Each step into the unknown echoes with an impending sense of danger as if the walls conceal a secret that should never be revealed. Her heart is pounding loudly, and she fears that one of the guards will hear it.

*her spacesuit

After locating a nearby vent, Cassandra crawled upwards until she reached the throne room, and then she landed perfectly on her feet like a cat: '*Phew* Thank you, YouTube parkour channels.' Cassandra thought with a smirk before carefully trying not to draw any unwanted attention to anyone; she hid in the shadows where no one was watching by taking off her helmet.

And the minute she did so, she recognized the aliens in the throne room. Atrocitus, Zox, and a chained-up Razer. She silently gasps in horror before continuing to hide in the shadows; she turns on her spacesuit translator button and eavesdrops in the conversation: "{If you trusted no one, Razer. You're never disappointed.}" Atrocitus begins to press a button, which it reveals to be a red power ring charge; Zox, on the other hand, is pleasantly excited about Razer's torture as he gasps: "Master~, I can't believe you're bringing out your power ring to power his interrogation, he doesn't deserve it!"

'OF COURSE RAZER DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE TORTURED, YOU BEACH BALL! YOU SHOULD BE TORTURED!' Cassandra is consumed by anger and feels herself burning with fury, but she composes herself from turning into a red lantern since she would never join their evil plans, and that's a promise she would keep. Back to the story, Atrocitus continues, "{Elements of your story is true. You have been with the Green Lanterns.}" Razer looks away from the Red Lantern leader before Cassandra sneaks behind the seat where the control panels are as she hides without getting caught... Yet.

"{And, by the end of our talk...}" Atrocitus walks over to Razer, who glares at him without saying anything to them and continues to listen to the murderer in front of the prisoner: "{You'll tell me everything you know about them, now let's begin.}" The beige alien ball red lantern floated towards him and said: "This could go quick and slow, but I hope you choose slow." Zox holds a remote in his hand before grinning by pressing the button, as the electrical pain shoots straight into Razer's cuffs, screaming in agony while Atrocitus and Zox watch in pleasure. Cassandra, hiding behind them, has had enough, "HEY! LET HIM GO!"

She comes out of her hiding spot; as soon as she does that, Atrocitus turns to face Cassandra, his sinister grin widening as he observes the unexpected intruder. Still holding the remote, Zox shifts his attention from Razer to the new arrival, a look of amusement crossing his face.

"{Well, well, what do we have here?}" Atrocitus sneers, his deep, guttural voice resonating through the throne room. "Another meddling creature daring to interrupt our little session with the traitor Razer." Cassandra stands her ground, her fists clenched at her sides. The anger that had been simmering within her now threatens to boil over, but she fights to keep her composure. "I won't let you torture him," she declares defiantly.

Atrocitus chuckles a dark, malicious sound, "{And who are you to stand against the will of the Red Lanterns? What brings you to our humble abode, intruder?}" Ignoring his question, Cassandra locks eyes with Razer, who is still writhing in pain from the electric shocks. She glares at Zox, who finds the situation amusing, floats closer to Cassandra: "You are quite bold, but this is not your battle. The Red Lanterns do not tolerate interference."

"{Let's see what our uninvited guest has to offer. Speak, intruder. Atrocitus, intrigued by the unexpected turn of events, motions for Zox to stand down. "{What is your business with Razer?}" Cassandra takes a deep, shaky breath, her gaze unwavering. "I'm here to stop you from torturing Razer and get him out."

Atrocitus bursts into laughter, the deep rumble echoing in the chamber. "{Bold words, but can you back them up, little intruder? We feed on rage, and yours is a delicious scent. I might want to keep you as my slave.}" As Atrocitus finishes speaking, the air in the room thickens with tension. Cassandra ignores Atrocitus' threat, focusing solely on freeing Razer. She takes a step forward, determination burning in her silver eyes. "I won't be your slave. Not ever!" With that, she activates a small device on her wrist, causing a bright flash of light that temporarily blinds Atrocitus and Zox.

Seizing the opportunity, Cassandra swiftly moved towards Razer and started working on the restraints with tools she retrieved from her utility belt. "Hang on, Razer. I'm getting you out of here," Cassandra whispered urgently in a tense moment while the Red Lantern leader became enraged and charged towards her, grabbing her forcefully with his power ring. Razer, filled with fear and anger, yelled for him to stop just before Atrocitus threw Cassandra against the wall, causing her to cough up blood. At the same time, Zox, who had temporarily been blinded, activated the electric shock on Razer once again while Atrocitus held Cassandra hostage.

Once again, he screams in agony while Cassandra squirms in Atrocitus, grasps, and begs, "Let him go; you're hurting him!" Suddenly, the Red Lantern leader tightens his hold, almost choking her from talking: "CASSANDRA! No more... I'll talk. Just let her breathe!" Cassandra gasps and coughs before she widens her silver eyes at Razer, shaking her head with a 'no' when Zox grins, "See? A matter of time, Speak up!" Razer breathes heavily before unexpectedly spitting at the beachball red lantern, only to make the human girl snicker and laugh: "You think it's funny, don't you?~" Her laughter continues, infuriating him even further.

Zox turns to Razer, already planning to make him talk. "Let's see if you could be useful, so to speak," He says. Atrocitus agrees with him and grabs a chunk of Cassandra's brown hair, causing her to yelp in pain before she tries to get out of his grip, only for him to lift her off the floor and punch her straight into her ribs and bruise her knees from doing any movement. Cassandra bit inside her cheek, preventing herself from screaming or whimpering in pain, which was unavoidable because she felt her ribs poking her heart.

They both seem satisfied before Atrocitus chuckles maliciously as he drags her across the floor before throwing her weak body under Razer's stern gaze. She struggles to lift her head to meet his blue eyes with her silver orbs. Razer tries his best not to show any hint of worry for Hal Jordan's niece. Still, he is concerned for her well-being since she wants to save him, which no one had ever done for him before, from a traitor who left the Interceptor to being unable to protect the only person he truly cared about.

Atrocitus begins to grab her chin by caressing her face with a sweet evil smile: "{Cassandra, hmmm, beautiful name for a slave}" "Don't even think of laying a finger on her; I swear I'll-" The Volkegrian man gets suddenly punched in the stomach, making Razer widen his blue eyes and cough in pain to be left hanging in chains as he hears Atrocitus leaning in to whisper into his ear: "{I'm going to miss you, Razer... Schedule his execution. We'll make an example of this one.}" He moves away and orders, "And the intruder?" Zox curiously questions, making the enemy leader glance over his shoulder.

He witnessed Cassandra's weak body, only to smirk at an idea: "{Chain her ankles in front of Razer, as she, too, will be an example.}" After they left, leaving only Razer chained up while Cassandra's weak body was on the floor, the atmosphere in the dimly lit chamber was heavy with tension and despair. Razer struggled against the chains that bound him, his eyes filled with fear and determination. Meanwhile, Cassandra lay motionless on the floor, her body battered and bruised from the brutal assault she had endured.

Razer's voice trembled as he called out to her, "Cassandra? Wake up, please!" He could feel the weight of guilt and responsibility pressing down on him: 'I shouldn't have left the Interceptor; if it weren't for me, she would not be in this position of pain.' He angrily thought as the Red Lanterns had captured him and subjected Cassandra to unimaginable pain. Cassandra's eyelids fluttered, and she weakly turned her head towards Razer. Despite the pain, a faint smile crossed her lips. "Razer, I'm... I'm okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her words were meant to comfort him, to let him know that she could endure the physical pain for his sake.

Razer's eyes softened with relief, but concern lingered in them. "You shouldn't have done this for me," he murmured, a sense of guilt weighing on him. Cassandra managed a weak chuckle, wincing as she did. "Someone had to," she replied, her gaze unwavering. "You're not alone in this, Razer. We're roommates... and keep each...others... backs." She coughs more and groans weakly; Razer's heart warmed at her words, a feeling he hadn't experienced in a long time. Despite the situation they're now in, Cassandra is the only light that ignited within his dark place: "I am greatly sorry for allowing them to hurt you, Cassandra, but you should not have come." he scolds her.

"I...wanted to... because... I believe in hope...Razer. Hope...in saving...you." She collapses due to exhaustion from the pain in her entire body and sleeps. The realization of their dire circumstances sank in. The Red Lanterns had planned an execution for Razer, and Cassandra was to be a gruesome example alongside him. Razer strained against his chains, a surge of anger welling up within him. He couldn't let Cassandra suffer because of him. As they returned, they dropped Razer on the floor, who immediately pulled Cassandra's weak body closer to him but was forced to let go as Zox electrocuted him, "AGH!" Razer falls unconscious.

Minutes pass, and both of them are on their knees, chained from their necks to their ankles. On the other hand, Cassandra tiredly licks her lips of thirst since she hasn't drunk any water for the past hours: "What was that, fleshy~?" Zox sickeningly teased her mumble of words, only for her to use her last strength to say, "Water...please..." Her head hung itself thanks to the chain around her neck, while Razer felt the flashbacks of his wife Illana's death replaying over and over until Atrocitus began his announcement for all the Red Lanterns to see it.

"{Remember this lesson well...However, This happens to those who stray from my righteous paths. Zilius, proceed.}" Atrocitus commanded him, who also grew a sickening smirk; he lifted his spear to cut off Razer's and Cassandra's heads just as the execution was about to start. "This will sting a little." Zox proceeds. However, it had been interrupted by an unfamiliar guard, who came in as soon as he was holding a familiar alien pig.

It was Kilowog.

He had been captured as well. (A/N: He doesn't know that Hal Jordan was dressed as one of the red guards 'get up' outfit *winks*) Razer widened his eyes in shock and was surprised to see him again before hearing the words coming from the guard: "I caught this stinking Green Lantern in your shrine." Kilowog gets thrown toward Atrocitus, who looks very angry. While the unfamiliar guard, aka Hal Jordan, took notice of his niece, he widened his eyes in horror at what he was now witnessing: Cassandra's hair was messed up, her skin was paler than ice and decorated with bruises, her spacesuit was covered in her blood, and her whimpering sound escaping her lips made it even harder for him not to lose control to murder Atrocitus for hurting his brother's daughter.

As the pieces of what happened to her made it click, she came to save Razer as well, only to fail: "Who's this prisoner, my liege?" Hal/Red Guard asked, "{An intruder. You may watch the torture if you wish. Atrocitus replied coldly, "Now...it seems that Razer and Cassandra weren't the only ones to survive the explosion of Colony 12.}" Begins to lift Kilowog from the floor. In contrast, Cassandra weakly glanced at the guard, who was secretly freaking out about his niece's safety: "{You Green Lanterns are harder to kill than I thought.}" Atrocitus glared when Zox interrupted his master, "Uhm... master,~ He continues: "Permission to cut off Razer's head?"

His master doesn't reply, only getting his full attention on the guard who caught Kilowog, and glances in curiosity as Green Lantern still angers Atrocitus: "{What is your name, soldier?}

Hal/Red Guard hesitantly lied, "Uh, Wrath, m'lord."

Atrocitus commanded him by throwing Kilowog towards the floor, "{Hmph, you can execute the one you caught, Wrath! At the same time, Razer and Cassandra~ meet their doom}." This makes him pissed, but when he spots Cassandra, he immediately tries to run towards her, "Hey, Cass! UGH!" Kilowog gets put down to the ground by 'Wrath' before he gets ready to slice off his head, secretly winking at Razer. Who is slightly confused at what that means until smoke ventilations start smoking everywhere that Atrocitus and Zox left running? At the same time, Hal Jordan and Kilowog reveal themselves in their Green Lantern suits and go to get Razer and Cassandra.

"You were foolish to come here! Razer starts scolding their idiotic plan: "I made my intentions very clear. Do you even have a plan to get out of here?" "Don't need one, and you're coming with us!" He gets lifted to his feet when Hal questions him about his niece, "Cassie! What the hell happened to her?" Razer looked away in guilt, which was answered by Kilowog, who was getting nervous and strictly worried: "Uh... Guys, she isn't moving!" They widen their eyes at this, urgently wanting to get out. Hal checks her pulse and notices that she is weak. Her face was pale, there was blood dripping from the corner of her mouth, her spacesuit had minor scratches on it, and her brown hair was a mess.

He felt scared but lifted her in his arms by giving her to Razer: "Hold her, Razer." Razer hesitates, unsure how to respond to Hal's request. He looks down at Cassandra with a mix of concern and guilt over the fact she came without her uncle's permission to save Razer before reluctantly nodding and taking her into his arms. "They've infected our reactor with a virus." Zilius Zox panics; as for Atrocitus, he watched soldiers get shot down by a green blast before he angrily uses his red power ring to move the smoke out of the way when he is met with Kilowog, Razer carrying Cassandra and Hal Jordan, who smirks at him.

Which infuriated Atrocitus by gritting his large teeth, "{You!}" Everyone began to fight except for Razer; he held Cassandra tightly before thinking of recharging his ring, while red blasters and green ones began shooting one another and sprinted towards the throne where Atrocitus's personal power charge was. Razer carefully cradles Cassie, providing her with as much comfort and stability as possible. He can feel her shallow breaths against his chest and can't help but feel a sense of responsibility for her condition.

Hal, fighting fiercely alongside Kilowog, glances over at Razer and Cassie, a mix of worry and determination crossing his face. Despite the urgency of their situation, he can't help but feel useless until he places her next to him and does the red oath: " 'With blood and rage of crimson red, we filled men souls with darkest dread, and twist your minds to pain and hate, will burn you all. That is your faith!' ARGH!!!!" Suddenly, red energy surrounds him; Razer roars in full rage, destroying the throne room as Hal and Kilowog chain Atrocitus up with their rings. Razer walks down the steps while holding Cassandra's bridal style.

Until the red guards came shooting at them, Hal and Razer were floating. In contrast, Razer's frustrations on being unable to die express his desire for revenge and to be with Illana. However, Hal questions him: "Look, I know you'd be willing to die today, but do you have the strength to live for a cause? Because we sure could use you right now; even Cassie would agree." Meanwhile, Kilowog creates a protective green wall with his power ring, guarding their backs while Cassandra's weak body lies in Razer's arms.

He felt her move to touch his cheek with a weak, soft smile. She said nothing but smiled, letting Razer know they needed to get Cassandra to safety as soon as possible. Understanding what her uncle meant, he changed his mind and nodded at Hal, who smirked: "Aya, table for 3." He ordered once they jumped out and were flying outside to get back to the ship; as soon as they exited, Aya announced through their power rings: "I have shut down Shard's automated defenses," she explained, "to allow the Interceptor to pass through. Estimating arrival at docking bay 22 in 8 minutes and 40 seconds."

"Good, meet us there." Hal told her, but she declined through the comlink, "My arrival might be delayed as I am currently downloading a large file." "Don't be late for dinner, baby. Over and out." The call ended, not knowing that Atrocitus had caught Aya in the system room.

Meanwhile, Hal, Kilowog, and Razer continued flying. At the same time, he carried Cassandra in his arms until Kilowog suddenly started fighting off a red lantern non-stop and letting someone punch Razer off guard, as Hal was too late to notice this. In contrast, Bleez (a red lantern female alien bat) snatches Hal's niece from the traitor and flies away to bring Cassandra to Atrocitus.

Bleez carries the weak human girl in her arms, slightly smirking: "Master Atrocitus, I have the slave.~" "{Good, bring her to me. I have another one in my grasp}" Atrocitus sounded pleased. Once the female bat approached him, she threw Cassandra on the steps of the battery square under Atrocitus's feet. The human girl gets lifted into the air with his red power ring, and Aya is ready to hear his threat; Cassandra tiredly hears the red lantern leader's words as well. Her heart condition had increased, and she glanced to see Aya. "A...Aya..no..." Then everything went black.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The three witnessed a live broadcast featuring Atrocitus: "{Your plan didn't work, guardian lapdogs.}" He starts holding a deeply wounded Aya and Cassandra, "{If you'd like to reclaim your toy and your relative, meet me in Battery Square.}" After directly addressing the three lanterns and giving orders to meet him, everyone was in despair, already fearing for them, "It's a trap." Razer points out, "Of course it is. But we don't leave anyone behind." "I get the co-...Aya and Cassandra. I'll get them." He felt guilt washing over his shoulders, realizing that if anything happened to her, she would die and Cassandra, however, would be an Atrocitus enslaved person, which is what he cannot ACCEPT Nor let happen.

After all, Razer believes it is his responsibility to go off like that: "Not alone, you won't. Plus, she's my niece; if anything were to happen to her, I would already be as guilty as you are." Hal tells Razer, who scolds him about safety precautions, "You've got to go take the sergeant to safety and prepare the ship for take-off," Razer explains the situation to the green lanterns and points out: "We won't get away with a dozen red lanterns with only one ring power. We need that ship." "Too risky, we board the ship now, and then I'll bring Aya."

Hal said, but Razer didn't like it, "By then, it will be too late!" He continues: "You're always going on about having the courage not to fight, so do you have the courage to leave this to me?" He ponders briefly before glancing down at Kilowog and then back at him, "I'm trusting you to get a crew member back and Cassandra. Don't make me regret it." His words are valid, which Razer understands, so he goes by himself to confront Atroctius; once Razer gets to Battery Square, he sees him holding Aya's head with his large hand while Cassandra is on the ground... bleeding.

It enraged him, and he shouted: "Leave them alone!" "{You want them? Anything for you.}" The red lantern leader picks up Cassandra from the ground and throws them towards Razer, who catches them in his arms but is shot by Atrocitus. Making Aya fall onto the ground while Cassandra's unconscious body comes to fall, Razer had time to protect her by using his power ring to make a red construct table so Hal's niece would not get hit by the impact. Once he landed her carefully next to Aya, without injuring her as she was already, he got ready to fight.

Soon enough, he fought Atrocitus toe-to-toe briefly before being severely outclassed by the far superior opponent: "{I hope you would choose wisely. I hope you'll be my ambassador for my legacy.}" "A legacy of murder and hate." Razer struggles and is being pushed and thrown into many buildings by the red power ring while getting some punches from Atrocitus. Still, he has so much strength that he cannot do anything: "{I had such high ambitions when I created you!}" Atrocitus bellowed, "You didn't create me, I did. If only I had listened to-" Razer was cut off by the enemy, showing a sly smirk, "{If only you had listened to your sad little farm girl.}"

On the brink of losing, Atrocitus blasted Razer to the ground before putting his feet on his helmet, saying something that would change forever: "{Do you think what she said to you, what you felt for her, mattered in the least?" Razer gritted his teeth at the mention of his deceased wife and growled, trying to get out of it, but Atrocitus was too strong to lift, "{It was I who conquered your world. Who set your warlords against each other to create destruction and hate!" He gets thrown towards another building before being angrily grabbed by the helmet:

"{It was I who saw your potential and recruited you. And when I saw that you needed a little nudge to become a true hateful creature. Then I sealed your faith, and It was I who slaughtered your 'precious' Illana.}" Upon hearing this, Razer's anger intensified to maximum as his eyes, blinded by rage, used his red energy blast to attack Atrocitus:

⌁⌁⌁"RAGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"⌁⌁⌁

Razer immediately gained the upper hand on Atrocitus, soundly defeating him. Just as he was about to kill him, a barely functioning Aya tried to convince him: "Razer, we have to get back to the Interceptor. I have vital information for Hal Jordan, but my mobility has been impeded, and Cassandra Jordan requires medical attention. Will you aid us?" He refused, "No, do the best you can. You die now." Razer snarled while the Interceptor tried to get away from the red guards' blasters as the A.I. spoke again, "If we don't go, we will all die."

Aya convinces him, while Cassandra does the same: "R...Razer...d-don't... he isn't worth... it." She struggled to tell Razer before blood began coughing out from her mouth.

Razer stopped his anger before he eventually agreed, taking a Red Lantern Battery with him, Cassandra, and Aya as well. He carried Cassandra, who already felt the grip of his arms under her back and bruised knees. Immediately flying back to the Interceptor, they all escaped when, later, Razer realized that Cassandra had suddenly passed out.

To be continued...
