First time of everything? Yeah, right. Algebra was just as hard this year as it was last year and her teacher was just as disrespectful. And her classmates just as mean. Except for Pirate, who was close with Silver. Pirate was always really nice to her. But god, she misses her two best friends. Minnow jumped when the bell rang, and got up quickly, grabbing her pencils and stuffing her math notebook in her messenger bag. She hustled out of the classroom faster than she usually would. She wasn't about to let her teacher pick on her again. God, high school could be living hell sometimes. And kids could be so mean-

Throwing her messenger bag over her shoulder, Minnow rushed down the stairway to her economics class. She sat at the uncomfortable desk and sighed quietly. Running her fingers through her hair, she watched other students fill in through the tight doorway. Maybe she shouldn't have been the first one sitting in the classroom. Minnow tried her best to not get noticed. She was extremely introverted and she didn't need anyone else. Besides Silv. And Ciel.

She really was no one special. She didn't need any attention. Other than having an abusive father, several daddy issues, and going on a chaotic journey to find her long lost mother that was forced to leave her, she was no one special.

Minnow didn't not like people. She just...wasn't a people person, really. And believe it or not she had a few trust issues and anxiety for days.

Yeah, no one special.

Back in her economics class, her professor asked for the assignments that were due from the past week. Minnow was the one who did them early, of course. She couldn't help it! As she nervously walked to the front of the class to hand in her work, she felt the eyes of the classmates surrounding her burn into the back of her. Min shuddered slightly, practically threw the papers at her economics professor, and rushed back to sit in her seat.Β

God dammit, anxiety.

She could hear everyone whispering. About her. Of course. Wasn't there literally anything else they could gossip about? Anyone else they could gossip about? She didn't wish anyone any harm but why the hell did it always have to be her?

"What a teacher's pet."

"Dude, she's always so quiet."

"Idiot."

"She's not even that smart. How did she get the assignments done?"

"Ugh, so annoying."

"Watch your words, her best friend could beat us both up."

Damn right, she could, Minnow thought, part of her fueled with anger. The other part of her so goddamn happy she had Silver.Β

Speaking of Silver, she heard a small, almost silent buzz coming from her bag. Lucky for her, she sat in the back corner of the classroom, so her professor hopefully wouldn't see her texting her best friend. She slowly pulled out her phone from the leather messenger and hid it under her desk, away from the teacher's view.

✨ Bsf (Silv) ✨

Bsf: I so wanna ditch rn

Min: Ikr, I wish-

Bsf: You ok in economics?

Min: Ugh, no. People really suck

Bsf: Want me to rescue you??

Min: Yes please :(

Bsf: Oh dammit gtg my geometry teacher is about to kill me <3

Min: K don't die <333

Minnow slid her phone back into her book bag after that short conversation and sighed to herself, tapping her knee nervously, glancing up at the analog clock every thirty seconds.

God dammit, anxiety.
