Dear James,

Do you ever get the feeling, that something terrible is going to happen? I get the same feeling whenever I'm at Grimmauld Place.

The corridors feel darker than ever, and the dim lights hanging on the walls seem to emit a ghastly glow. The eyes of the faces on the tapestry seem to follow your every move, opening the closet gives you chills like a boggart revealing itself.

The echo of your heel against the sleek marble floor sounds a hundred times louder in the eerie silence while everyone else looks unbothered, but us youngsters are on edge.

And I'm utterly terrified for Regulus. After me and Sirius leave, the only people who'll be there for him are going to be Narcissa and maybe Lucius. And they'll be moving back to Malfoy Manor soon, anyway.

I'm going to have to ruin our plans. I'm going to stay here, be a good and supportive sister to Reg, because even if we are just cousins, he means a lot to me.

He's just a boy, forced to grow up, with rubbish pureblood-supremacist ideas shoved down his throat like arithmacy formulaes. Reggae once was like this gorgeous firefly, emanating this pure, innocent aura, making every one fall in love with him. Over time, his light had gotten rusted, layer by layer, but deep down, that light stills glows, and shows itself in little, almost unnoticed ways.

I'm going to let Sirius run away, he needs it, he needs out. But so does Regulus and I will not let him suffer alone.

Love,

Cassie
