Crystalpaw walked around the camp. Head hung low. Furypaw had become Furyswipe, and Riverdusk had given birth to three kits. Coalkit, A black tom, Lightkit, a silver she-kit named in the honor of Lightstep, and Sparkkit, a spunky black tom with yellow eyes.

"Hey Crystalpaw! Watch me!" The familiar happy yowl of Coalkit made her smile, looking over at the young tom as he crouched down "See?!" He yowled. "Keep your tail up." She informed him calmly "The animals will hear your tail on the ground otherwise." Coalkit nodded and kept trying.

"Crystalpaw! Owlpaw! Come here!" Crystalpaw's father, Adderstrike yowled "Coming!" Owlpaw mewed happily "I'll be right there." Crystalpaw said calmly padding over. Adderstrike coughed and mewed "We need to you to-" He stopped and fell making a thud "Adderstrike!" Crystalpaw yowled. "Dappledpaw! Waterstep! We need you!" Owlpaw wailed in horror "I knew he had White cough..." Waterstep mewed running out and grabbing the red toms scruff and bounding away.

"He-He'll be alright... Right?" Crystalpaw asked from the entrance of the medicine cat den "Er- y-yeah... He's going to be fine..." The tone in Dappledpaw's voice told Crystalpaw she was lying. Shattered Crystalpaw slumped to the ground. "Hey! Hey! It's okay! He'll be alright!" Dappledpaw tried to comfort her. "No it isn't!" She wailed "Elementalclan has been taking everything from me! My mother! My father! And next Owlpaw will go!"
