After Ash wins the second Badge, they meet a rival of Serena named Miette, at that time she also asks if Ash has a girlfriend or something else, and it makes Serena both blush and angry at the same time. In the end, seeing how much Ash and Serena are together, she decides to tease her by telling Serena that if she didn't make a move, then she is going to take Ash away.

In Avignon Town, Ash and the group meet Diancie and learn that she wants to get the powers from Xerneas. They follow her and her Carbink servants to Allearth Forest, but the thieves who want to steal Diancie accidentally wake up Yveltal and cause him to wreak havoc around the area. After Yveltal is calmed down and Diancie mega evolved, Yvelta gives Ash and Serena his own Pokeball before leaving. Diancie and Carbink also join Ash's team without Clemont and Bonnie noticing.

Ash and his group also attend the Summer Camp lead by Professor Sycamore. It is in that camp that they are able to meet new friends, Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor. It is then Shauna introduces Serena to the Showcases and how Aria is the Kalos Queen. While Tierno and Trevor are also partaking in the League, which makes them and Ash rivals.

Once they arrive at Shalour City, Ash and Serena decide to take part in a trial so that they can actually get themselves Key Stones. And once they did, they decide to spend the weekends finding the stones as well.

In Paldea Region, Ash and Lillie decide to stop the first Team Star Base and find out that Director Clavell disguises himself as Clive so that he can get to know more about Team Star and their intentions. And they also finish the third gym, the second base, and the third Titan.

To complete the Dark Type Pokemon, Ash and Lillie capture a Mischiff at South Province Area Two and evolve it into a Mabosstiff. In North Area Province Two, they capture a Bisharp and let it fight three more with Leader's Crest so it evolves into a Kingambit. In Route 8 of Kalos, they find an Inkay who likes the sandwiches that Ash made and they capture it, evolving it into a Malamar in the end.

"So we're going to free the Treasure of Ruin Pokemon?" Lillie asks Arceus once they arrive at the gate.

"Yes. However, when they are out, we will need to bring them to a place where they can call home instead of letting them run wild and destroy everything." Arceus says.

The two of them manage to free four Legendary Pokemon, and while the other three want to stay at Sevestar Island, Chian-Pao was the only one who wants to join Ash and Lillie's team.

To complete the Electric Type Pokemon, Ash and Lillie capture a Helioptil at Route 9 and use the Sun Stone to evolve it into a Heliolisk. They capture a Pawmi at South Province Arera 1 and evolve it into a Pawmot in the end. They capture a Wattrel at the Secluded Beach and evolve it into a Kilowattrel by training. And they find a Dedenne at Route 11 of Kalos and capture it.

"So why are we time-traveling again?" Ash asks Arceus and Celebi. "Surely this is not like Hisui, right?"

"No. This is actually more ancient than Hisui. You're here because I notice that you are interested in Paradox Pokemon." Arceus says.

Arceus brings them to a past Magneton, which looks quite creepy. But Ash and Lillie manage to capture the Pokemon, surprisingly, the Pokeball actually works on them even though they are in an era where Poke Balls aren't a thing.

Then they are also sent to the future, where a lot of Pokemon have become robots or something. They decide to capture a Future Tyranitar, and once they're done, they quickly get back to their own time period.

"So we've actually got Sandy Shocks and Iron Thorns..." Lillie says. "I only wrote these on our list because of the Scarle Book and the Violet Book..."

"But they are real." Ash says. "And we have two of them on our team. Although I hope it doesn't cause any problems..."

"Don't worry, everything is already set in stone." Arceus says.

To complete the Fire Type Pokemon, Ash and Lillie capture a Litleo at Route 22 and evolve it into a Pyroar. They go to the future again and capture a Future Volcarona known as Iron Moth. And thanks to Director Clavell giving them a Fuecoco, they evolve it into a Skeledirge in the end. And they also manage to capture a Charcadet at South Province Area Three and evolve it into a Ceruledge by using the Malicious Armor they found at Zapapico.

To complete the Steel Type Pokemon, Ash and Lillie capture a Klefki at the Lost Hotel; a Varoom at East Province Area Three and evolve it into a Revavroom; a Honedge at Route 6 of Kalos and train it to be an Aegislash in the end; and an Orthworm also staying at East Province Area Three.

Now it is a relaxing morning, Lillie is brushing Pikachu's fur with her comb. "There you are, Pikachu. You're nice and clean."

Pikachu squeals and thanks Lillie, Snowy notices it as she also wants to be combed as well, Lillie chuckles and says, "Sure, Snowy, I'll comb you too."

While Lillie is brushing Snowy, Ash asks, "I guess you learned those from the styling course at Hammerlocke University?"

"Of course, I love to see Pokemon that are beautiful and sparkling. How about you? I heard you also join in the literature courses. Are you going to write your own novel?"

"It's in process." Ash says with a smile. "I have been trying my first novel. I'm writing a novel that talks about the Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. Of course it is going to be fiction, so they can just believe if it is real or not."

"I see..." Lillie nods.

And after relaxing for a while, they decide to go to the next base. "So the next base to raid is in Lumiose City?" Lillie asks Ash, who nods and says, "You're right. He should be somewhere here."

Once they manage to get rid of the grunts at Lumiose City, they find the Cyborg standing in front of them. He looks like a normal cyborg with mechanical parts on his body.

"Looks like we have some trash to deal with." The cyborg says. "I wonder why the other 15 are dead in your hands..."

"Maybe because you should never judge a book by its cover." Lillie says while using her gloves to fight against the Cyborg, but the cyborg just grabs her hand and says, "I see you can use Pokemon moves without the need of machines...interesting."

"Let Lillie go now." Ash says as he starts to attack. The cyborg goes for Crush Grip, which gives Lillie some pain, but Lillie blasts the guy with the Fire Blast, causing him to break the grip and stand back. It goes for Techno Blast on Ash, only to be blocked with Protect.

Outside the base, pedestrians of Lumiose City are walking around, until they notice the glow inside one of the houses, they are confused as to what's going on inside, but before they can do anything, the International Police arrive with the helicopter and rushes into the building, some of them are trying to calm down the panicking crowd, while others notice Ash and Lillie standing on a dead body of the cyborg.

"We've already taken care of him, just remove him and don't cause a scene." Lillie says to the police, who nod as they look at the body, a knife is stabbed through the chest, they wonder how a normal knife can go through something metallic, but they aren't going to question that.

Genome: Age:28. Born: Kalos. His parents were taken into custody, thus making him alone as the child of a criminal. Fueled with hatred of how people see him, Genome decides to get his revenge by being a murderer and a thief. His picks are random, thus nobody knows who his next target is. Team Rocket notices his skills and offers him to become one of their members, after years of working with them, he is asked to be tested for the first Cyborg. Once it is a success, he has been playing a part in building other cyborgs. His typing and code name are "Normal" He also absorbs the power of the Legendary and Mythical Pokemon of Normal Type for Team Rocket. The Weakness of the Cyborg is spreading rumors about something that is real.

Ash sighs, "No wonder there aren't any Team Rocket grunts around here. This might be the secret lab to create the cyborgs..."

"Yeah, but that means we've only had two left. One Flying and one Dark." Ash says.

They decide to abandon the place here and set up another house on the hills of Lumiose City instead, since that house is bigger than the base as it is only a secret lab.

After the third gym, Serena decides to enter one and she captures a Pancham in order to do so. In Courmarine City, she tries to enter her first one, but she fails as Fennekin trips in the first one, she is depressed about it, but with Ash's comfort, she decides to change her new disguise, which has shorter hair.

Before leaving, Ash gets mail from an anonymous person and the person wants to see him alone. So Ash decides to find the anonymous person and finds her standing at the harbor. It is a grey-haired woman with red sunglasses, Ash feels that she is familiar to him, but he doesn't know how.

"Are you the one who called me?" Ash asks, and then the woman says, "I am, it is good to see you again, Ash. The last time I saw you, you were just a little baby holding in Delia's arms."

Ash is still confused, how does she know about his mother? But just as he uses the aura, he gasps as he sees a picture inside and it is him and his mother, along with his father, Chairman Rose, an older man with grey hair, and the person in front of him. Ash can't hold back his tears and he asks, "Grandma? Is that you?"

The two of them share a hug and Ash says, "I thought you were gone just like Dad...Why didn't you call me when I arrived in Kalos?"

Palermo frowns and she says, "I should apologize to you, but I haven't had the chance to contact my daughter for years. How is Delia? Is she fine even though Adam went missing?"

Ash is confused as he knows that Adam is the name that Lillie mentions a lot, but then again, he doesn't know about his father's name because he always calls him Dad and his Mother seems to call him honey...could it be that he has been with Lillie all this time in the Alola? But he doesn't want to take chances to ask her. Ash says, "Mom is very fine, she is still like her usual self. With the help of Professor Oak, she is still strong."

"That's a good thing to know." Palermo says. "You know, I really preferred that you are a girl so that you can partake in the Showcases that I owned."

"Grandma? You are the owner of the Showcases? I never knew about that." Ash says in surprise.

"Now you know." Palermo says. "After everything that happened a lot of years ago with Team Rocket, at least you are safe for now, that is all it matters."

After they talk for a while, Ash also reveals that Serena is also partaking in the Showcases, and Palermo reveals that she saw her crying in the streets with Fennekin, Pancham, and Ralts comforting her and also saw her cutting her hair. Ash nods and she says something that makes him never forget. "I am sure that you will really take care of her, right? She is really a true star for the Showcase."

Ash says, "I will. Thank you for watching over her." Then he feels like he should tell her the truth, so he tells her about Lillie and the times when they are together. Palermo is surprised that Serena also wins 5 leagues in other regions and the fact that her son Rose has helped them open a company and become successful. The more she listened, the prouder she is for both of them.

"I know that you two might want to keep it a secret because of the responsibility you two have towards the world. But I suggest that you shouldn't keep hiding it from your friends, or else you will make a greater enemy and it will hurt you more."

Ash nods at his grandmother's words, as much as they want to talk some more, it is getting late and the others might be worried, so they bid farewell as Ash decides to return to his friends.
