Kansuke had thought quite a bit about what Mori had said. The omega thought it was bullshit. It wasn't fair for them to hand him over to the ADA only for the child to be placed in the same situation; if not worse. Kansuke knew he could take care of him well, he could love him, Arsenio and him could give him the kind of home he needed. Being in the mafia didn't change that fact. Kansuke looked over at the small boy and Chuuya started to stir in his sleep again. It seemed like the little one was plagued by terrible nightmares.

"Mn... Ma... Mama..." Chuuya was turning his head in worry. Kansuke gently put his hand on his cheek and he shushed him.

"Shush... shush... I... I'm here... It's okay." Kansuke continued to stroke his cheek in a loving way and eventually the nightmare seemed to settle. The ginger sighed in relief.

"You shouldn't get too attached."

Kansuke turned around hearing his husband's voice.

"I don't care what Mori says." Kansuke admitted.

"So are you going to go against his wishes?"

"Maybe... why are you gonna snitch?"

Arsenio chuckled. "On my beautiful mate? Fuck no. I don't give any more fuck than you do what Mori thinks. I agree. I don't think the little one should go to the ADA. So the real question is, what are we going to do love?"

"We fight." He said it like the answer was so simple.

"And if we lose?"

"Then at least we know we died trying. Trying to give a child something they have never had. A real family."

"Then we fight. We won't let anyone take him." Arsenio said, grabbing his mate's hand and he kissed it. The alpha and omega had made their minds up. They were keeping him rather, Mori wanted them to or not.

Mori came into the hospital room a few hours later and he saw Kansuke was still with the little boy, now along with Arsenio. Mori leaned on the desk looking at the omega. "The ADA will be here in the morning to collect the child."

"I'm not giving him up to them."

"I thought I made it clear it was an order to-"

"I know what you said but I am going against that order."

Mori sighed. "I knew you'd be stubborn. That's exactly why I didn't call them."

"...you didn't?"

Mori shook his head. "Maybe you're right. Maybe he is not fit to be with the ADA."

"But why?"

"Because as I suspected you're stubborn and you don't listen. Especially when it is something you're passionate about. Do you really want this child? So close after losing your own child?"

Kansuke nodded. "I am sure this is what I want."

Mori sighed. "Well then raise the child as your own." He said flat and without much bite. "But Kansuke?"
The omega looked at him.

"Do keep in mind the next time you disobey me that way I'll cut your head off."

Kansuke knew even though he said that he didn't mean it. "Yeah I'll keep that in mind."

The next day the little ginger had woken up and he looked around the hospital room curiously. He looked beside him and he saw a stuffed animal, the ginger grabbed it and he held the lion happily. He heard the door open and he looked up. Him and Kansuke made eye contact and Kansuke was shocked, finally seeing him awake.

"Hi..." Kansuke said softly.

Chuuya looked at him for a moment and he held the stuffed animal tighter as he looked at him.

"Uh... I'm Kansuke. What's your name?"

"...Chuuya..."

Kansuke smiled. "Chuuya. That's a gorgeous name... Chuuya, do you know how old you are?"

"...F-four..." He said shyly.

"Wow four. Such an important age, you're a big boy, hm?"

Chuuya nodded with confidence. Kansuke heard Chuuya's stomach growl and the omega had actually just grabbed some McDonalds.

"I have some breakfast... It has pancakes, sausage, eggs, and a biscuit... best in town." Kansuke chuckled. "Want it?"

Chuuya looked down shyly. "Can I really...?"

Kansuke nodded. "Of course baby... here..." Kansuke pulled it out and opened it for him. He poured the syrup on top of the pancakes and he cut up everything into smaller pieces for the toddler before sitting down and feeding it to him. The toddler sure was hungry. He ate all of his food. Once he did Kansuke didn't let any nurse or doctor come in just yet. He didn't want to startle the little boy. And Kansuke wanted to try and bond with him a little bit. Because if this was going to be their baby boy. He wanted to give him the life and happiness he deserved.
