Seating above ^^^^

TFC went over rules after everyone was seated and then let them do what they wanted. His personal rules were the usual, food only if you clean up after yourself, music is allowed, no physical fighting or paper airplanes that could distract him from driving, and never ask: "Are we there yet?".

After he started to drive, most people slipped into casual conversation with their seat buddies and the other people near them.

"Here Bdubs." Doc said, dropping a flashlight to the seat in front of him.

"Huh?" Bdubs picked it up and turned backwards to face Doc.

"It's your flashlight, I don't need it anymore."

"Oh, uhm thanks?" Bdubs said suspiciously.

"We're cool now?" Doc asked casually.

"Yeah sure." Bdubs said, a little annoyed still but willing to let it go. He turned it off and grumbled something about the battery, but didn't push it because he still had the other one they got in the basement. He put it back into his backpack and grabbed out his phone.

"Hey sweet face, wanna take a selfie?" Keralis offered, pointing to his phone.

"Oh great idea!" Bdubs smiled and held out the camera

"Can we join, dudes?" Ren asked from behind.

Bdubs nodded and lifted the camera up higher to get them all in the photo. They all grinned when the camera flashed and Bdubs clicked a few just so they could be sure to get a good one.

"We should get a ton of pictures of the scenery while we're there." Keralis said.

"I think X is taking us on a trail near a waterfall," Beef added from across the aisle. "You can probably get a ton of good photos there!"

"Ooh a waterfall?" Grian jumped in, "You think we can stand under it?"

"Grian I'm not sure that's a great idea-" Mumbo started.

"Ohh yes! I'll take a picture of you doing that, Grian!" Iskall interrupted, chuckling.

"Guys, I think the actual lake might be better for that stuff." Etho turned around in the seat to see everyone.

Grian shrugged. "I'd be down for both."

Scar was holding his backpack in his lap with his arms wrapped around it to keep it extra secure for no reason in particular. He was talking with Cub about drones casually, and how they might take great pictures of the forests from way up high. Cub agreed they could try to bring one the next field trip and had a nice time explaining the mechanics of the one he had made even though Scar didn't really understand half of the stuff he said.

Tango and Impulse were talking about something similar, mentioning the robotics club and how they could possibly upgrade some of the camping gear when they got back just for the fun of it.

Wels and Jevin were going from listening to music separately to talking about whatever was on their mind, and went back and forth between the two activities every few minutes until one of them thought of a conversation idea.

Joe was just reading a book while Xisuma was listening to music through headphones and staring out the window, enjoying the peace while he could. They were in the front, which was considerably quieter and calmer than the back.

Stress was braiding Cleo's tangled and messy hair and the two were talking about all of the nature they were excited to see, the animals especially.

"I'd love to get a good picture of a deer or a bunny." Stress said, trying to separate Cleo's hair into 3 even parts carefully.

"What about a bunny riding the antlers of a deer?" Cleo joked, trying to imagine the scene.

"Like a warrior?"

"Yeah!"

"A warrior bunny?" False was suddenly intrigued from her seat across from them and chuckled a bit at the idea.

"Oh what if there were two and then they could hold a joust or something!" Pearl added next to False.

"What would they use as swords?" Zed asked from behind False, resting his arms over the seat so he could talk too.

"They could use sharpened sticks?" Gem added, next to Zed.

"Ooh what if they used slingshots with pebbles?" Pearl offered, miming shooting something in a slingshot herself.

"We'd make millions if we got something like that on camera." Cleo laughed. Stress had finally separated her hair and now was doing the fun part of actually braiding it.

"I could make a mini contraption to get a good view from all angles and we could make it a 3 parter movie!" Zed said.

"It sounds a bit weird, but also adorable!" Stress smiled.

They all laughed at the idea sort of quietly so Hypno could sleep in the seat behind Stress and Cleo, but he didn't seem to even notice any of the noise around him.

After a while of casual conversation between everyone about the things they were excited to do or see, someone offered the idea of playing music out loud. Xisuma looked to TFC if that was okay who gave a thumbs up and a smile.

"Ooh we should play a Disney song!" Scar called out.

"No no the chicken dance!" Poultry man- I mEAN GRIAN- said.

"Or WonderWall?" Mumbo offered more calmly with a half hearted chuckle.

"What's WonderWall?" Scar asked.

"You don't know what WonderWall is?"

"How does Scar not know WonderWall?!

"Well then we have to play it!" Mumbo said confidently.

"What about, 'my world is burning down around me'?" Cleo offered from the front. She got a few odd stars and just responded with: "What? it's a good song!"

Hypno had woken up sometime in the chaos, but didn't seem that bothered by it, instead offering another song with iJevin and Wels which they just knew as rebel just for kicks even though that wasn't the official name.

"Let's do 'What is Love!" Keralis called from the back.

"Oh I second that one!" Xisuma smiled.

"Alright y'all!" Joe interrupted the loudness and put his book down. "Let's do this calmly. We have time to listen to them all."

It only took a few short minutes to get everyone's ideas written down in an order everyone pretty much agreed on. Joe had added Touch Tone Telephone on the list for himself too and they decided to listen to 'I want it that way' - by Backstreet Boys first.

Then they did 'I can't wait to be king' from the Lion King for Scar and 'Let it go' by Stress's request. Etho, Tango, and Iskall all confidently sang along to that with Stress and a few times the whole group sang the chorus.

"LET IT GOOO," Stress started them off.

"LET IT GO!" Iskall continued in their thick swedish accent.

"CAN'T HOLD IT BACK ANYMOREEEE!" Tango sang loudly while Impulse half heartedly covered his ears next to him.

"LET IT GOOO!" Stress sang again

"LET IT GoooOOOO!" Iskall followed.

Tango pointed to Etho this time to continue it instead, and in a moment of pure childlike fun:

"TURN AWAY and SLaM the DOOOORR," Etho sang out, horribly and amazingly at the same time.

Everyone was giggling and laughing as others sang the rest of the song together messily, people dipping in and out for some parts, and some parts going without anyone singing it, but it was all fun, and more than one person was a little disappointed when the song ended.

Most of the other songs played out the same way.

'Feel It Still' for Hypno, Beef, and xB. 'My world is burning down around me' for Cleo, who now had a gorgeous braid courtesy of Stress. 'WonderWall' for Mumbo and 'The Chicken Dance' for Grian despite protest from half of the bus. Joe did 'Touch Tone Telephone' and Grian suggested 'Cabinet Man' by the same band afterwards. Tango somehow got them to play the extended version of the 'Perry the Platypus' theme. Impulse did 'We're not gonna take it anymore' which got a lot of people to sing with it, even if most of them only knew the main chorus.

The last on the list was 'What Is Love?' from Keralis that he and Xisuma sang really well together as the others let them have their moment.

People were trying to come up with more song idea's when Pearl offered 'Running with the Wolves' She heard from the movie Wolfwalkers, which had a really peaceful nighttime vibe, and Bdubs added it to his playlist when the song was over.

As a joke, Etho offered the 'My Little Pony' theme song, but it went ahead anyway and more than one person actually knew the words of the song.

"Myyy little pony!" Etho started since it was his idea.

"I used to wonder what friendship could be." Stress sang.

"My little pony," Mumbo sang the only words he knew.

"Till you all came and shared it's magic with meee!" Grian smiled and pulled Mumbo into a side hug.

"Big adventure!" False joined in.

"Tons of fun!" xB sang.

"A beautiful bod that's oh so strong~" Ren sang it wrong confidently with his hand on his chest, and his sunglasses tipped down.

"Sharings kind," Keralis sang.

"It's an easy feat," Bdubs said after him.

"And magic makes it all complete!" Half the hermits on the bus sang loudly in a sound that could be easily misunderstood as being murdered.

"Yeah, My little pony!"

"Don't ya know you're all my very best friends!"

Most of the Hermits sang the last two lines together a little more quietly so they wouldn't break the glass windows and cause a crash.

Cleo stopped her recording of it and smiled, "That's going on youtube~!" She said in a singsong voice.

"oH DON'T YOU DARE CLEO!" Bdubs yelled from the back of the bus, standing up with his hands on the back of the seat in front of him.

"Cleo if you put that on youtube I'll kill you myself." False threatened, trying to hide a laugh.

"You tell her Falsy!" Ren called from the back who was also mad about being recorded.

Cleo shrugged and hit her evil grin, and pocketed her phone before another hermit could get ahold of it and delete the video.

Being reminded after Etho chose My little pony, TinFoilChef put on his own playlist while everyone was arguing and clicked play quietly. A few Hermits stopped talking to hear what was being put on, and there were a few chuckles and laughs at the first song.

The entire my little pony equestria girls rainbow rocks (yes that is the full name) playlist was played without any complaints, and the highschoolers actually seemed to enjoy the upbeat and catchy songs even if they didn't know them as well.

This time no one sang along as much, afraid they were being recorded again and not knowing most of the words, but whenever they did, they stared at Cleo to make sure she didn't have her phone out.

The rest of the ride was littered with other random songs and conversations about anything they could fathom. It was only a 2 and a half hour ride, but felt like eternity by the time they were nearing their destination.

People were starting to get a little antsy as nature came more and more into view and they knew they were getting close. The trees and cliffs they rode near were gorgeous and lots of them crammed against the windows to get better views and take pictures.

"Alright gang! We're here!" Tin announced as the bus slowly came to a stop on the bumpy gravel road.
