Tonight was karaoke night at Twist and the place was packed. All our friends were here and some of them even signed up to sing.

Rebecca and I got there just in time for the first performance.

Kat ran up on stage, microphone in hand. "Alright, how's everyone doing tonight?"

   Everyone cheered in response.

"That's great to hear. We're gonna kick tonight off with a duet by two of my best friends. So, let's hear it for Wendy and Jen!"

Everyone clapped and a few cheers and whistles rang out as they ran up on stage.

Then, the opening to Don't Stop Believing by Journey started playing through the speakers.

We all clapped along as Wendy started off.

"Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world."

I was actually surprised, she sounded pretty good.

"She took the midnight training going anywhere..."

We continued to clap along as Jen started this time.

"Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit."

'Of course she could sing, she was good at everything.' I thought as she started the next verse.

"He took the midnight train going anywhere..."

After the song, they ran off the stage to thunderous applause.

They joined our little group as the next performer got on stage.

"Wow, I didn't know you guys could sing." Dana said.

"Neither did I." Wendy replied, causing us to laugh.

"Who else is singing tonight?" Kris asked.

"I know I am." Alice said.

   "Me to." Billy added.

"Wait till you hear his voice." Stephanie said, star-y eyed.

"What about you?" Bailey asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know, maybe another time."

"Oh, c'mon. We all wanna hear you sing." Abigail said.

"You are quite talented." Mike added.

"I actually agree, you should sing." Beth finished.

I laughed. "Thanks, guys, I guess one song wouldn't hurt."

   They cheered.

   "That's the spirit." Mike said.

Kat handed me the clip board. "What song are you gonna sing?"

I took it and thought for a second before jotting down We Will Rock You by Queen next to my name.

"Good choice, I can't wait to hear it." Rebecca said, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and kissing my cheek.

The night carried on and I tried not to get to drunk before my performance. Alice sang, beautifully might I add, Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen and Billy did a killer performance of Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

Eventually, it was my turn and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I've sang in front of audiences before with The Cover Girls, but that was along time ago.

I just focused and tried not to blow it.

Everyone immediately started to stomp and clap along as the song started.

"Buddy your a boy make a big noise, playin' in the street gonna be a big man one day."

"You got mud on your face you big disgrace, kicking your can all over the place."

"Sing it!"

"We will, we will, rock you!"

This time everyone joined in.

"We will, we will, rock you!"

The rest of the performance went better than expected, everyone keeping the beat and singing along the whole time.

My friends clapped as I approached them.

"I think I missed your singing the most." Rebecca said with a giggle.

I pulled her into a quick kiss.

"You never told me you could sing."

I looked up to see those icy blue eyes staring at me, a small smile on her face.

I smiled back. "You never asked."

She laughed a little as she pulled me into a quick hug.

"What're you doing here?" I asked.

"I invited her." Wendy said.

"And I hope you don't mind but, I brought company." Candy said, introducing the group to Angel.

"The more the merrier." Jen said.

"Is it to late to sign up?" Angel asked with a smile.

"Not at all, here you go." Kat said, handing her the clip board.

We enjoyed the rest of the performances after that, eagerly awaiting Blake's.

Everyone clapped as the last performer walked off stage, Kat taking her place.

"Alright, let's hear a round of applause for our performers." She said, causing everyone to clap.

"And now, what we've all been waiting for. Let's hear it for my beautiful wife and the owner of this fine establishment, Blake."

Everyone clapped again as Blake nervously walked onto the stage.

Kat gave her a quick kiss before handing her the microphone.

The room grew silent as Blake looked down, the opening chords of the song ringing out.

A few whistles rang out, then Blake looked up and started singing.

"I saw him there, dancing by the record machine. I knew he must've been about seventeen."

"Holy shit, she's good." I whispered to Kat.

"I told you." She replied with a smile, her eyes glued to the stage.

Everyone slowly started clapping along and Blake was actually smiling.

Then, we all sang along with her.

"I love rock n roll!"

She ended her performance and everyone clapped and cheered.

She ran off the stage, a huge grin on her face.

Kat pulled her in for a deep kiss after she made it to us.

"I knew you could do it, baby." She said.

"Woo, that was great! Did you guys hear that?" Blake asked, a grin still on her face.

"Yes, you killed it." Dana said.

"Definitely the best performance of the night." Jen added.

"To Blake!" Wendy shouted, raising her beer.

"To Blake!" We all replied before taking a drink.

As the night started to wind down, I found myself in a mostly empty Twist, surrounded by my friends.

"So, you excited for our big reunion show?" Bailey asked me.

I nodded. "I actually am, I forgot how fun that is."

A few people laughed.

"What reunion show?" Candy asked.

"She didn't tell you?" Kat asked.

"Tell me what?"

"I used to be in a band."

Candy gasped. "I can't believe you never told me."

I chuckled. "Well, we're holding the show here, you're more than welcome to come."

She smiled then. "I might just have to take you up on that."

"Count me in. After that performance you gave, I can't wait to hear more." Angel said.

"When is it?" Rebecca asked.

Kat, Bailey, and I exchanged glances.

"You didn't set a date yet?" Blake asked.

"Hey, don't look at me, it was their idea." I said

"We'll get back to you on that." Bailey replied.

We all laughed.

"Well, let me know. We'll definitely be there." Candy said.

After that, we drank the rest of the night away. Everyone seemingly excited for the upcoming Cover Girls reunion.

————————

Ok, so I wanted to attach the songs for everyone's performance but, they only let me put one :'(

So, I added Blake's. One, because I love that song and two, because I think it fit better, given the reasoning behind the chapter.

Anyhoo, I hope you're enjoying the story so far :)
