Gajeel P.O.V

The war with Phantom was over, and I was now a part of Fairy Tail. Everywhere I went in the guild, I could feel the burning hatred scorching through me, but I didn't care. I had done what Master Jose told me, but I regretted it. All I wanted to do was start over, but that wouldn't be easy. The three I had pinned to the tree were sitting at the other end of the guild away from me. All glaring daggers at me, especially the small blue haired girl. Levy. I don't know why, but my heart constricted when she looked at me like that, a look of hate didn't seem natural on her face. I sighed angrily and retrieved a job from the board, showing it to the demon woman before leaving.

" Oi, Gajeel!" The orange haired one, Jet, said as I passed them. " What?" I tried not to growl. He motioned for me to follow the three of them, so reluctantly I did. They lead me to the park, to the tree I had pinned them to barely a week ago. Just the site of the tree made me sick.  "What do you guys want? I need to get to my job." I grumbled quietly. " Someone who destroyed our guild and nearly killed us doesn't deserve to take jobs." Levy all but yelled, and it hurt. "It's time to get pay back!" The black haired one, Droy, said and lashed out with his plants.

I didn't bother blocking, didn't bother moving. The attack hit me hard and it threw me across the park, quickly followed up by an attack from Jet, who landed a a kick to my chest. " Solid Script Fire!" Levy shouted, and I almost couldn't believe it. Almost. The word hit me and singed my flesh but again I didn't block. Their abuse continued until I was laying on the ground panting, struggling to stand. " Pretty pathetic Black Steel." Levy sneered, the look didn't suit her face.

" Is this the punk that destroyed the guild?" A voice said, and we looked up to see a large blonde man with a lightning scar over his eye. "That's him Laxus." Levy said. A bolt of lightning hit me and I couldnt help the roar of pain that left my lips. I was sent scrapping across the ground, and my vision was blurring. " Finish him Laxus" Shadow Gear shouted and I looked to them as they cheered for the man to finish the job. And all I could think was You too Levy?  Before a bolt of lightning shot straight for my chest.

I shot bolt up right in bed, sweat making my hair stick to my forehead and back, my breath coming out in heavy gasps. I looked around my room and sighed, rubbing my hand over my face. Just a nightmare. " Gajeel?" A tired voice said beside me and I looked down at the blue haired girl. She sat up on her elbow, brushing sleep from her eyes. " Honey, are you alright?" She asked quietly.

I smiled softly as my pounding heart finally slowed down and I ruffled her hair, making her puff her cheeks out. "I'm fine." "You don't look fine." she said as she brushed hair out of my face. I gently caught her hand and held it to my face and she smiled. Trying to ignore my nightmare,  I grinned as I scooped her up and rolled over, pinning her beneath me. She blushed but giggled. " Macy is in the next room" she whispered. Knowing our three year old was a light sleeper I groaned, settling for curling up beside her. She fell back asleep, curled up in my arms. I watched her for a while, willing the traces of the dream of what could have been to leave me. Five years together and a beautiful daughter, I had hoped the nightmares would stop. But as she slept beside me, I couldn't help but smile. As long as she was there when I woke up, I would fight through them.
