Okay that is the link to The Hat Fic. The Hat Fic is a Phanfic, also known as fanfiction of YouTube stars Dan and Phil. In The Hat Fic, there is much Smut. That's just plainly simple, and to top it off there is even a sequel which is even worse. It is just disturbing in ways I can not even begin to describe other than it wi scar me for the rest of my Phandom existence.
Now I'm not going to say that this person wasn't a good writer, because they were a good writer and they had a "unique" way of writing. Most people after reading some fanfics think something like "why" or "why is this so disturbing? Why does this even exist?" And I'm pretty much right there with you. I wonder why people who are so good at writing and have a gift for it, why they would write something so disturbing. I can't give you an answer of why, other than that's just how they are.
Once a fic is well known around a community, whether it be the fandom community or the Wattpad community, normally it gets reviewed. Now the disturbing fics have to be so disturbing to get a rating of "don't even fuCKING READ IT" because normally people who do read fanfic, they have read some pretty weird stuff. (I know I have.)
Let's say the fanfic is about 2 YouTubers, and those YouTubers talk about the fic, but in a bad way, that should be your way of knowing that if a YouTuber talks that bad about a fic, then just don't read it! Of course you rebels out there will probably read it and I don't blame you because I'm a rebel too, but anyway I salute and say good luck to you.
Have a good time reading whether it's all fanfic, or just fiction in general.
