Peril moved her head weakly to get a good look at the MudWing with whom she'd fallen in love. Peril ignored the growling noise knowing very well who it belonged to. Clay appeared to be collecting fire wood. Peril closed her eyes and smiled blushing. Although I feel like scavenger dung, the dragoness thought, at least I'm stuck with someone who can actually touch me to care for me. She shuddered at the reminder of her fire scales. The growling noise had sounded but she didn't care anymore, she was stuck with him. She knew who the sound belonged to and she would never reveal it. "Clay?" Clay turned his head and saw Peril. "What's for lunch," she asked. Clay shook his head. "Nothing this is just a stop," he replied softly,"we have to get as far away as possible." A growling noise sounded, and it was one Peril did not recognize. They looked at each other, neither revealed anything. "Isn't this far enough?" She asked. After some hesitation, and the unfamiliar growl again, Clay replied,"No, it has no-" the growling again "-thing." Clay seemed tense. He turned to her. "Feeling well enough? We need to go-" both growling noises "-now." He shot into the sky and Peril had follow suit. Peril took the lead this time but to her disappointment there was no bush or even rock for another few miles
Peril looked behind her Clay was keeping up. "How many days have we been going only on water?" The MudWing flinched. "Four," he replied reluctantly. Peril turned around and gave him a stare. "So you're telling me," she snapped,"WE HAVE FOOD DEPRIVED FOR FOUR DAYS?" The MudWing flinched. "Uh.........................um.......yeah......" He answered awkwardly. "OH WELL THEN, ARENT YOU HUNGRY BECAUSE THERES A LOT OF DEER DOWN THERE!" The only answer she got was a mumble followed by the familiar growl from Peril's direction. Peril zoomed down Clay followed her. "We can't hunt now," Clay mumbled. "Oh why can't we?" Peril snapped, the familiar growling sounded. "It's getting dark," the MudWing replied. "But I'm starving!" The words slipped out before she could second guess. "I have been for the last four days!" Clay looked merely surprised. "You too?" He asked surprising Peril. "I haven't heard your stomach growling!" Clay looked at the darkening sky. "That was you?" Peril blushed. "yeah well...." She was at a loss of words. A low rumbling sound came from her belly as if to answer.
