I ran away from the house with the bag over my arm and wing. I found my way all the
way to the rest of the flock.
“Alright, alright is everyone here?” Aeralys asks the flock.
“I believe so,” Ruby muttered out.
“Wait where is Crooked?” Kymera asked.
“Crooked and Bolty were right behind me!” Dakota explained. I approached the group in
tears.
“What's wrong Bolty?” I heard Andro ask me. I was surprised she would even talk to me
after what I did.
I wipe the tears from my face, “It’s my fault Crooked, Crooked was taken by the cops!” I showed them the bag Crooked had tossed me. “It's filled with food. Because of Crooked, we won't starve for the time being, but what are we going to do now?”
“It's not your fault Bolty. You are fine” Andro held me close and awkwardly pat my back
before letting go. “I'm sorry for getting mad at you guys earlier. I was just upset.” I smiled and hugged her. I forgave her especially when we need to be together.
“Crooked got us a lot of food. Shouldn't we have some? We haven't eaten all day!”
Aeralys told the flock looking towards the bag.
“I won't eat, it was partly my fault we are in this situation so I don't deserve to,” Kymera
said softly. Her voice was mostly a mumble. I nodded with Ruby in agreement. The other flock members also nodded.
“I don't think anyone of us will eat tonight,” Maddie said. We walked through the woods
and found our emergency shelter a bit farther ahead. We hadn't finished it so it was really messy. We settled down for a good night sleep which wasn't very good. I couldn't sleep with the thought of Crooked possibly sacrificing himself for the flock. I knew that we had to save him. I laid on the ground started to the side thinking of anything we could do.
I heard some noise outside and I popped up looking around at the
others. I stood up and lifted my wings. I walked outside being careful not to wake anyone else up. I snuck outside to see that a raccoon was eating our food! I stared at the little guy and he hissed at me, running away from with the food. A wave of devastation flooded at me. We didn't have any food! I started at the ground for hours in utter shock.
“What happened? Where is our food?” Andro asked. I didn't answer
her and kept staring at the ground with dismay. Other people camp out from the tattered shelter rubbing their eyes.
“What’s for breakfast?” I heard Kymera ask. My heart dropped. I turned to them and sighed.
"Our food was stolen from a raccoon, “ I sighed. I saw everyone’s eyes, once full of hope, turn to fear, and sadness.
"A raccoon? How do you know that? Why didn’t you stop them!” Ruby asked in anger. She quickly looked away in shock. “S-sorry, I’m just… Really hungry.” I couldn’t blame her. I was starving myself.
“Do we have any place where we could find food?” I asked the flock.
“Crooked was the only one of us who could actually catch something when hunting…” Maddie sighed. I bowed my head.
“We’re all going to starve!” Dakota yelled. I silently agreed with her. I looked at everyone, thinking of what to say. Then, Andro stood up on a nearby rock,
    “Alright,  everyone! We know of someone who has food! We’ll have to fly to them but we can do it!” Andro encouraged them as we all looked at them. A bunch of whos and whats fluttered the crowd. I knew who she was talking about. “Void! They are pretty far. A ways from here even but we’ll get there!”
Cheers were heard from the crowd of avians, filled with new hope to get to Void. Andro, with the help of Maddie, started organizing flying patrols. I was paired with Maddie and Dakota. There was Andro with Kymera, Aeralys, and Ruby. We walked to the hill and each group went. Taking off into the sky. We were going to get to Void.
