"My lady! They are attacking!" Itia's voice yelled from outside Nia's den. Kako rushed outside. Sure enough, the Forest Skulk was attacking the Vixen League. "Get all unable to fight inside dens!" She ordered. "Send out messengers to our allies in the south side of the moor!" She ran into the battle.

"Give us back our foxes!" Yelled Pine. "No!" A voice rang out across the camp. "We won't come back. Never!" It was Navari, she was clawing at any enemy she could see, dodging and weaving through the maze of pelts.

She jumped on the back of a dark brown dog and dug her claws in. He howled in pain and fell to the ground. "Drive them out! But spare the vixens!" Kako ordered. She ran towards Pine. This was a dog who needed to die.

She sprung at him, her claws out, and he dived to the side. She landed on all fours and turned to face him. "Give up Pine!" She growled. "We outnumber you and outmatch you. You'll never win." "I want revenge for my son!" He said. "It was one of you who killed him. I smelled your sent on his body."

"Oh, yes. The vixen who killed him is here, but at the time of his death she hadn't been named yet. One of your own killed him before joining us. Isn't that WONDERFUL news?" She said, delighted with herself. Pine backed away. "What?!" His enraged face swiveled around the battle field, observing.

When he saw Navari, he bared his fangs. "Her. Red, her fur was found on Molt's body." "Ah, but so was Nia's and Itia's." She told him. Pine looked confused. "Nia?" "Frost." "WHAT??!!! HER OWN SON!!"

"Pine! I said, stand down, give up the battle. You have lost!" She commanded him. Then, six vixens stood around Pine, snarling. Navari, Tami, Itia, Asteri, Kakori, and Kakos all surrounded the Skulk leader, their fangs bared, claws sharp.

Pine shrunk back. He looked desperately at Tami. "Daughter! Help me!" Tami only nipped at his leg. He jumped back. "Star! Please!" Asteri growled. "My. Old. Name. Was. Galaxy. And my new name is Asteri. Not that you would know."

Pine looked around. "Where is Fro- I mean Nia?" Tami lunged at her father. "Why should we tell you? You never actually liked her! I hate you! You are the worst fox in the world!" She aimed for his neck, but was kicked back.

"Now!" All the surrounding members of The Vixen League advanced on their prey. Most of the enemy had been defeated and chased off already. As they closed in someone shouted "Wait!"

It was Nia. She pushed her way to Pine. "Nia, would you like to finish him?" Asked Kako. Nia smiled. "Oh, I would. Just one second please. Is Oak still here? Dark brown dog." Navari smiled.

"Oh yes, he is. I left him suffering in the tree hallow." She ran off and came back with a bloody dog. She threw him in front of Nia and he cowered against her gaze. "Oak" her voice was cold. "Do you know exactly what happened to your brother?" He shook his head, to afraid to speak.

Nia smiled. Wicked. "Well, this will be fun." She slashed her claws across his face. Oak howled in pain. Fissi and Fylla were holding Pine down as Nia raked her claws along her son's flank. Oak whimpered. "Mother... why?" Nia's eyes narrowed.

"You spent years torturing your sister. Now I get to return the favor." She continued to injure her son, but then Tami stepped in. "Mother!" Nia shook her head. She shook it again. When she saw what she had done to Oak, she winced.

"Mother! He didn't really bully me. That was mostly Molt." Nia stared down at her paws. "Oak... I'm sorry." Then she looked back up at Kako. "Is there a way where he can stay here?" Kako nodded.

"He can stay here if he accepts me as his new leader and that vixens are now above him." She walked up to the dog. "What do you say?" Oak looked at his mother and sister. "Yes. I accept you as my leader." He struggled to his feat and bowed.

Pine looked shocked. "Oak!" Oak looked at his father. His face turned to disgust. "I see it now. All these years I've been blind to how you treat mother, how you let Molt treat my sister." He raked his claws across his fathers snout. "YOU TOLD ME SHE GOT THAT SCAR FROM A BADGER!!!"

"She needed to be toughened and to learn the ropes." Pine said. Oak let out a cry of anger and left on top of Pine. He easily pinned him down and when he was on top he growled "This... this is what you deserve for torturing my sister. Th..this is what you get for killing Raven!" And he snapped his own fathers neck.

Kakori stepped forward. Her eyes were confused. "Oak.. I.. I remember you now!" Oak turned and when he saw her his whole face brightened. "He told me you were dead! They told me he had killed you!" Kakori laughed. "It'll take a lot more than a puny dog to kill me."

"Oak." Oak turned when Kako said his name. "You are clearly braver and nobler than the average dog. I believe we should reward you for your service to us." The League yipped in agreement. Kako climbed up the meeting tree.

"Oak. Kakori told me about you when she came back from her mission in the Skulk. You have shown that you are indeed the noble fox she described when you took down your father and left your Skulk to be with your family. Loyalty is important, but knowing who to be loyal to and who doesn't deserve it is even more so. You will not just be the regular dog, doing chores around the camp, you will be a fighter, a warrior, a hunter." Tami cheered.

"Oak, your new name will be Dentro. The League welcomes you, brave fox." Dentro's eyes filled with tears of happiness. As the League went to do their jobs, Kako approached Dentro.

"Dentro." The dog jumped when she addressed him. "Yes Kako?" "I believe you have some family waiting to meet you." She gestured to Nia's den. "And, I must inform you of one thing." Dentro's eyes filled with worry. "I..is it bad?"

Kako shook her head. "In my opinion, not at all. My eldest daughter, you know her of course, I believe you know each other, correct?" Dentro nodded. Kako smiled. "Well, she might want to talk to you." Dentro nodded and shot off to his mother's den.

Kakori came up to her. "Mother." "Yes?" "Mother... I..I would like to ask something." "Okay. What is it?" Kakori looked down at her paws. "Well, I..I like to get your permission to... well... I'd have to talk to Dentro about it first but... if he says yes... I would like your permission for him to be my mate."

Kako smiled. Finally, her eldest daughter had found someone for her. "I think he'll be good for you. You have my full consent." Kakori brightened. "Thank you mother!" "Run along now. We have stuff to do. A Skulk to rule. We drove them back to their cave, correct?" Kakori nodded.

"Good. Could you get me Itia? I need to talk to her." Kakori ran off and Kako settled down in a patch of sunny grass.
