Dick had no idea where to start this so he just took off his mask, giving an awkward smile at his old mentor and father figure. "Hey Bruce..It's me." The words lingered and Bruce just stared at him. Did he not recognize him, sure it has been several years... but it still hurt. Dick just wanted to shrink away from the stares, but his feet felt like they were glued in place. He looked out the ground again "Look I know it has been awhile and all... And I am sorry for not coming by sooner.." his voice trailed off. This was a mistake, he shouldn't be here, he had no right to be here. He felt tears sting his eyes but he refused to let them fall, he was not going to cry in front of him..there was no way... Dick looked up to the sound of movement only to see that Bruce with no cowl was standing right in front of him, a look of shock and anger on his face. Dick flinched again "I told you this was a bad id--" He was cut off by a large embrace from his mentor. Dick relaxed into the embrace and hugged back, feeling Bruce shaking as he did so. The hug lasted a long time and the awkward silence filled the room.

Finally, Bruce let go, a serious look in his eye. He was beyond angry now. He was glad that his son had returned to him, but this seemed to be a secret among all of his sons. They knew long before he did. "When?"

"It was not his fault!" Tim blurted out, covering his mouth quickly, but it was to late, Bruce glanced over to him, an expectant look on his face. "I mean...we just found him a month ago..he was trapped in a Cadmus lab." Tim choked out, voice growing quiet as the Bat stared him down.

Dick let out a shaky sigh, fidgeting with his hands " I woke up about seven years ago.." He winced when he saw Bruce's angry expression. "But Tim and Jason only knew for about a month..remember when they brought in that 'civilian' to Mount Justice med-bay? ...That was me."

"And you did not think of telling me you were alive during those seven years? That you were actually alive the whole time? And that you two know for a month and failed to tell me that Dick was alive?" Bruce's voice was calm, however his calmness is what terrified the boys the most.

"Cadmus?" Bruce frowned looking back to Dick. Whatever Cadmus wanted with Dick, it was not pleasant. "What did they do?" He turned back to Tim " We will talk about you disobeying orders about the Cadmus lab being off limits another time." Tim nodded slowly, glancing down to the floor.

"I am grateful to them, please do not scold them too much Bruce." Dick spoke up, catching everyone's attention. "You raised two very good sons that you can be proud of..well I am unsure about the third one...david?...demon...Damian...yeah..it was Damian." Dick grinned.

Bruce sighed. "Dick, you are getting off topic, what did Cadmus do to you?"

Dick sighed heavily. "Really, all they did were a few tests and blood samples, occasionally they would inject me with stuff...but I was never quite sure what it was or what it did, but it was usually painful."

"Do you know of project 'R'? I assume it was you." Tim asked, remembering the empty file he houd found in the database. If this is what Cadmus was hiding, there is still the question of why, and tim wanted to find out.

"I was not allowed near any technology, I guess my hacking skills preceded me they would not let me near anything that had a screen, I felt like I was in the medieval ages..so I would not be able to really look up any projects of Cadmus." Dick was bored out of his mind in that room they chained him in, it was a miracle that he did not get on the joker level of insanity.

Bruce frowned more, if that was even possible. "Tim did you copy this file?"

"Well, yes, but it is just remnants..there is no possible way to put the data debris back together.."

"Give the copy to Dick, he may not look it, but he is one of the best hackers."

"You flatter me Bruce." Dick chuckled as Tim tossed him a jumpdrive. It was beginning to feel like he never left.

"Father, Why have you not come back upstairs...?" A new voice came about and Dick looked up.

"He looks like a mini version of Bruce...wait..Damian?" Dick pointed raising an eyebrow, the rest of the bat family nodded. Dick grinned at the boy, he did not look like he could be as much trouble as Tim and Jason made him out to be. How could a cute little kid cause so much trouble?

"Who are you? I demand you tell me!" Damian spoke up.

Dick laughed a bit. "Demand it?" Dick shook his head and walked over, picking the kid up from under his arms.

"Put me down this instant!"

"Do you demand it?"

"Yes!"

"Then I won't." Dick could hear Jason and Tim snickering while Bruce just let out a sigh. Dick laughed as the boy tried to kick and thrash away.

"Father there is an intruder and you are doing nothing!"

"Intruder?" Dick chuckled "I am not an intruder. I used to live here too you know-OW!" Dick let go when Damian bit him "Did you just bite me!?"

By this time Jason and Tim were in hysterics, laughing at Dick's bewildered expression. "The demon strikes again!" Tim laughed, holding his side.

"I can't believe he bit me" Dick pouted, looking rejected.

"I demand that someone tells me what is going on! Who is this intruder and why is no one seeming to care about his presence?" Damian huffed, not liking being left out of the loop. His father placed a hand on his shoulder and he looked up.

"This is Richard Grayson, he was the original Robin." Bruce explained.

Damian looked back to the older boy, who was rubbing his arm where he had bit him. Wasn't he dead? " You are supposed to be dead, Why are you here?"

Dick sighed. "That seems to be the million dollar question..I do not know how I am still alive, but I plan on figuring it out."

Bruce walked over to Dick, giving a small nod. "We all do. We are going to figure this out."
