3rd Person POV

Keefe quickly grabbed his sweatshirt from the car, coming back into the restaurant to see Marcus shooting Sophie looks of interest. He set his head on his hand, his eyes looking her up and down. Keefe quickly walked over to Sophie, throwing his sweatshirt over her head and she wrinkled her nose when her head came through the hole.

"This smells," she complained, but Keefe simply smirked, pulling his chair out and sitting next to her. She pulled her hood up, making Keefe slightly chuckle at her cuteness with his long sleeves slightly over her hand, biting her lip in nervousness.

"You adorable," Keefe whispered as Sophie ordered a water. Keefe ordered a rootbeer, telling Sophie he was a big boy and beer was for wimps. Sophie simply rolled her eyes, giving him a small giggle. She had completely forgotten about Marcus at this point and was just enjoying time with her friends.

"-and Fitz wouldn't stop! He kept drawing on his face with mom's lipstick! It was so funny he looked like a clown when mom finally snatched it away from him!" Biana said. Tears ran down Sophie's cheek from laughing so much. Fitz was as red as a tomato, and Keefe chuckled.

"You were such a weird toddler," Sophie told him, wiping the tears away with the sleeves of Keefe's sweatshirt. The blond haired girl reached down to her pizza and took a bite, savoring the taste.

"You got something there, Foster," Keefe told her. He reached up to the side of her mouth and took a piece of sauce off her cheek. She blushed when he licked the tomato sauce off his finger, smirking at her red face.

"Awe! Is Sophie crushing on Keefe?" Biana asked, looking over at the two. Fitz smirked, the red in his face finally fading as he pointed to Sophie.

"Or maybe Keefe's crushing on Sophie, look, that's his prize possession sweatshirt," Fitz said, smirking at Keefe's now scarlet red face. Sophie berried her face in her covered hands, trying to shield her red face.

"Awe! They would be so adorable!" Biana squealed. Keefe slightly smirked at the thought, the kissing, the cuddling, the touching.

"Maybe it wouldn't be so bad," Keefe said, his smug face leaning closer to Sophie's face. She looked up, a smile not on her face.

"I don't want to be with someone who doesn't know how to control with their addictions," she told him, her mood seeming to drop. He gulped, taking his head away and biting his lip. She still remembered him as a drunk buy who wanted to hook up with her in the hallway, huh?

"Oh, you still remember that?" He asked. "I was kind of hoping we had moved on from that part in my life," he said, his blue eyes flickering to her brown ones.

"You don't just move on from one of my best friends almost being severely injured because of your recklessness!" She hissed at him, her eyes turning away from his heartbroken ones. The group had gone quiet, all of them trying to avoid gazes.

Except Tam.

He stood up from the table, helping Sophie from her chair and leading her out of the restaurant. Keefe's eyes filled with horror and anger as he was the black haired boy wrap his arm around her waist. He excused himself from the table, slowly walking over to the door where he watched his mortal enemy talk to his crush.

"Hey, you alright?" Tam asked Sophie when they exited the restaurant. He pulled her over to a bench where she sat next to him. She snatched hi hand, tracing one of the scars on his knuckled and one of them on his palm. he bit his lip, not sure what to do.

"I can't be with someone who almost hurt someone I care about, can I?" She whispered to him, her warm brown eyes looking up to his cold blue ones. He bit his lip, looking over to the door to catch a glimpse of Keefe staring at him and her.

This is my chance! Tam's mind screamed.

Tam leaned toward Sophie, wrapped his arms tightly around her and pulling the fragile girl into his arms. She berried her face into the crook of his shoulder, and he realized she was crying. She wrapped her own arms around his neck, clinging to him for dear life.

"I care about both of you, but Keefe's made so many mistakes!" She whispered to him.

Clenching his fists, Keefe growled, turning away from the two and stomping into the bar. he ordered a beer, not wanting to think about his current girl issues. He was having enough of Bangs Boy stealing his perfect girl. So kind, even when he was in a sickly state. Pulling him out of his drunken state when his dad had called and said his mother had died.

"Three more!" He shouted for the bartender. The man gave him a strange look before nodding. Keefe saw his friends laughing and beginning to leave the restaurant.

He didn't care, he continued chugging his dreams, trying to forget.

Sophie smiled, pulling away from Tam when she saw her friends exiting the restaurant a few seconds later. She stood up from the bench, but before she could walk away, Tam kissed her cheek, pulling her closer to him for a second.

The group got into the van, tam wanting to sit in the back with Sophie on the way back. She smiled and nodded, taping the spot behind her. She leaned against his body as they rode back, staring out the window at the stars. They were a bit dim tonight, the clouds thicker than normal.

"Do you like star gazing?" Tam asked as she closed her eyes. She nodded, humming a quiet tune as the van began to bump on the rode. She opened her eyes when she heard someone groan at the bright flashes of a police car. Fitz groaned, slowing the van down, opening his window as the officer got out of this car.

"Sir, I need to see your licence," the man said. Sophie around Linh's seat, gasping when she saw Keefe look a like.

Er... sort of.

It was Keefe's look a like, only older and more presentable looking. His blond hair was slicked to the side and his ice blue eyes were much colder than the jockster.

Keefe.

Sophie's eyes began to wander around the car and she realized he wasn't sitting next to Linh nor in the front seat.

He wasn't in the car.

Sophie scrambled over to the back of the car, opening the trunk and jumping out. She ran down the street, not caring about Tam's confused calls or the police's demands. She ran as fast as her little legs would go, her eyebrows lacing together in worry.

By the time she had made it back to the restaurant, the stars clearly shown in the sky, the moon being her only light source. The restaurant was closed and only a confused, stumbling boy waited outside. He fell to his knees in the parking lot and Sophie quickly ran to his side. He hiccuped, his eyes boring into her. They were a bit yellow, making Sophie know for sure that he was, indeed, drunk once again.

"Keefe, why would you do this to yourself," she whispered, dropping to her knees next to him. he sat down on his bottom, grinning like a three year old.

"Your pretty," he said, hiccuping again. His phone fell out of his pocket and she reach over to it, knowing drunk Keefe wouldn't object. She saw a message on his home screen.

Daddio

Your mother's funeral will be on Thursday. Come in your best attire and don't be late or I will take you out of that college and make sure that girlfriend of yours fails every single class and job interview she ever goes to.

Funeral?

Girlfriend?

"Your very pretty," his drunken voice said, his finger running along her thigh. "Can I kiss you?" He asked her, his eyes flickering up to hers. Her eyes began to water as she reach over to Keefe an tugged him into a tight hug.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She whispered to him.

"Tell you what, pretty?" He asked, pulling away from her grasp. She stared into his ice blue eyes, noticing how he bit his lip in anticipation.

"Why didn't you tell me your mother died, Keefe?" She whispered to him, her lip quivering. His eyes flashed with a bit of confusion before dropping to the ground.

"I didn't want t-to upset you. You were already so stressed," he whispered to her. "And I didn't think you would care much, 'specially with Bangs Boy around." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders once more, wanting to show him how much she cared about him.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked her, taking her face into his shaky hands.

"Sober Keefe wouldn't like that very much," she warned him. He gave her a dopey grin, his thumb softly stroking her cheek.

"Sober Keefe likes this a lot," he whispered to her. She rolled her eyes, but immediately realized he was being serious. He leaned forward, his lips slightly puckered and she smiled, connecting their lips for a short but sweet kiss. She pulled away but he immediately reconnected them, his mouth softly moving with hers. She reached to his shoulder, realizing she was taking advantage of his current state. He slightly tilted his face, letting him deepen the kiss and he began attempting to pry her lips apart for more access. She pulled away from him, stumbling to her elbows. His blue eyes were wide, wider than a seven year old on Christmas.

"Again," he whispered to her as he swiped a thumb across his bottom lip. She quickly shook her head, twiddling with her fingers as she stood up and reached down to help him. She lifted him from under the armpits and they limped over to the grass.

"Have you ever star gazed before, Keefe?" She asked as she texted Biana to come and pick them up. He shook his head and she could tell his headache was starting. She patted her lap and he knitted his eyebrows in confusion.

"Lay down, Keefe, it'll help with your headache," she told him. He nodded, cautiously lying his head on her thighs and she began pointing at the stars.

"Aren't they pretty?" She asked a few minutes in. He nodded as his eyelids began to slowly shut.

"Just like you."
