"How long until you can come get me"
"With my parents, I'd have to be 18 😂"

Ash and I get out of the car, talking and laughing but suddenly I see a hurt bird and I push past and run to it.
I'm now on my knees, holding the bird, a pigeon, in my hands.
Ash comes and stands behind me.
My left side is to the lake and a car pulls into a parking spot just in front of me, I don't look up, I'm focused on the bird.
Zack and Jake get out of the car and come to me and Ash, I stand up and we begin talking and walking around the lake together.
When we get behind the trees Ash asks if she can hold the bird. I carefully hand the bird to her and as soon as the bird is in her hands safely I'm being pushed up against a tree, being kissed.
Its Zack.
We stop and he looks at me and says "I've been waiting all day to do that."
"I've been waiting since seventh grade for you to do that" I laugh.
We begin walking again and I take the bird back.

That dream, again? I question as I hit the buttons on my alarm.

After I got ready I lay on the couch waiting for it to be closer to time to go wait for the bus. I let out a deep breath I hadn't known I'd been holding just as my mother walks in and begins speaking to me.
"Here's ten dollars, get yourself a ticket to the dance," she holds out a ten dollar bill to me and I sit up.
"What?" I ask before taking it.
"Homecoming," She says expectantly.
"Do I have to go?" I ask.
"Yes. You have that beautiful dress. You are going," My mother states.
"Ugh," I groan and lay back on the couch, reaching my arm out and taking the money.
"Go eat and then go to the bus stop," My Mother wanders out of the living room, leaving me sprawled out on the couch.

Clyde follows me as I take my violin to the strings room. Afterwards he tried to lead the way towards the main hallway but I cut him off.
"I have to go buy a Homecoming ticket," I roll my eyes.
"Hey, it'll be fun! You can hang out with me and the others!" Clyde laughs.
I perk up a bit at the offer, "ok!"
"And I bet Clarissa could drive the both of us, she's going with her friends but she's taking my mom's car," Clyde continues.
"Cool, I'll ask my mom," I nod.
I lead the way over to the booth and buy a Homecoming ticket. My mom had given me 10 dollars but the ticket was only 8.

As we're walking away from the booth I suddenly I feel my phone buzzing a bunch and I pull it out of my pocket.

Ash: LANA
Ash: DUDE
Ash: LANAAAAA
Ash: I THINK I HAVE A CRUSH ON SOMEONE
Me: WHO????
Ash: THERES THIS GUY JN MY HISTORY CLASS THAT MOVED HERE THIS YEAR AND LIKE SKBSHAJRJTJDH

Clyde taps my side with his elbow lightly, "Hey, we're at the class."
I slide my phone into my pocket after checking the time.
"We've got two minutes before the first bell and I can see the teacher in there, we can probably go in a bit early," I shrug.
"Ok," Clyde shrugs and opens the door.
"Hello," Mr. Sharp doesn't lift his eyes from the papers at his desk.
"We had nothing better to do so we figured we'd come to class a bit early, if that's ok with you," I say as I lead Clyde and I to our usual seats.
"Better than running through the halls and being close to late," Mr. Sharp gives no emotion as he continues his work.
After a few moments the bell rings and other people start coming into the classroom.
Once the bell rings again Mr. Sharp begins going over the notes for today's lesson.

Halfway through the lesson, loud alarms begin blaring over the intercom.
"What's that?" I ask Clyde.
He laughs, "fire alarm."
"Ah, the one at my old school talked- it was weird-" I break off.
"Its just a drill guys," Mr. Sharp sighs at the sight of two girls panicking in the corner of the classroom, "get outside."
We all head out the door, Mr. Sharp in the back of the group.
I let Clyde lead me where we're meant to go. He leads the way out the schools side doors in the math hall and we wait for Mr. Sharp to take the lead to show us exactly where to line up.
"Follow me!" Mr. Sharp calls out.
I notice several of my classmates had wandered off towards their friends but they began wandering back when Mr. Sharp called.
"Doing good!" The schools principal calls out.
She's holding a megaphone and standing on a concrete block.
"Who gave that b!ch a megaphone?" I hear Amber say from the next line over.
I glance at Clyde and see him rolling his eyes and I sigh.
