Ana's POV

Sitting in my living room, I glare daggers at the envelope containing the test result the doctor handed to me before I was discharged yesterday.

My red painted nails play with the gold necklace he delivered to me that day at the office. A sad smile appearing on my nude lips as I recall how he caught me staring at it that day at the mall.

Releasing a sigh I adjust the white spaghetti strapped designer open-back blouse tucked into my black leather pants and tighten the brown boots I'm donning before lifting myself off the couch.

An invisible force drags me down as courage fails me due to what I'm about to do. Leaning my head on the headrest, I pinch the bridge of my pointy nose in frustration, indirectly wiping the little sweat that rests on the brown skin. The decision I made some hours ago weighing heavily on my mind.

"Are you still here?" Oluchi implores, her voice yanking me out of my thoughts.
I don't respond, as my dark blue eyes focus on her.

"Come on Oge, you need to do this," she pronounces, unknowingly spiking my anger. The short floral dress she's wearing swishes across her chocolate legs as she walks over.

"No Olu, I don't need to," I contest, rage coursing through my veins. "He doesn't deserve to know after what he's done."

"He has every right to know, this would also make a change in his life too, so don't act selfish," she scolds, her words penetrating my resolve while she fixes her black orbs at me, her button nose scrunched in a frown.

"What if I don't tell him?" I invite, a silly notion popping into my head.

"Trust men, he will find out eventually," she contends, settling beside me.

"But think about it Olu, he already sees me as a whore, he wouldn't consider it," I declare sitting up to peer at her round face, hurt evident in my voice

"And what part of what transpired don't you understand?" She argues, "the guy was miserable for Christ's sake."

"But that doesn't make up for what he did," I assert, tears threatening to break free.

"You know what?" She polls, "I've had it. Get up, up."

I peep at her in confusion as she rises and motions for me to leave. "Are you sending me out of my own house?"

"I'll push you out of it if I have to," she grunts and to my surprise snatches my arm and hauls me off the seat.

"Oluchi, it's my decision," I pronounce, offering her a glare.

"Ana Ogechi Alex, you are my bestfriend so this is part of my duty," she mutters and engages me in a staring match.

"God I hate you," I grumble and pluck the envelope from the table and nudge her to take several steps towards the door.

"We both know that's a lie, my love. By the way, you forgot your satchel," she scoffs, stopping me in my tracks.

I don't say a syllable as I stomp to retrieve the bag from her outstretched arm and head for the exit.

"Do you need a ride?" Joe proposes his 6ft 5inch muscular figure materializing in the doorway.

"No, I can find my way there," I decline. "Hence in someone's hidden words, I need to do this myself and stop being a pussy,"

"I did not say that!" Oluchi calls behind me.

"Well you implied it," I snort and stroll past Joe who's rocking a plain white kaftan, the last thing I hear before I bang the door is "why is she in such a bad mood?"

I get into my navy blue automobile and peer at the address he gave me which I inscribed on a piece of paper. Shoving it into my brown and black handbag, I revise in the compound and drive to the gate. It opens automatically as it is set today and I speed onto the estate roads on my way to one of the hotels he owns.

***********

I arrive at Place Of Comfort Hotel and shut the engine. Glancing at myself in the review mirror I smoothen my lips with lipgloss and clutch the bag from the passenger seat.

Stepping out of the vehicle I make sure it is locked and go to stand in front of the five-star hotel which contains up to a hundred rooms, an executive suite, VIP suite, a vast hall for receptions, five swimming pools, a flower garden, a playground and a large floor space for outdoor events. How do I know this? I've been here formerly, though I had no idea who owned it then.

Squaring my shoulders, my sight observes the green painted walls held by gigantic yellow pillars at every entrance. Different varieties of flowers that sway in the light morning breeze smooch its feet despite the sun blasting down on my back.

I hold onto the Gucci purse and saunter to the reception area, my head held high. I spot the receptionist behind her desk and lend her a smile.

"Good day," she greets stiffly, seeming unwelcoming. "Are you here to book a room?"

"No, I'm here to see Mr. Daniel Ike Okwu," I tell, fixing her a stare.

"There's no one with that name here Miss," she responds her eyes flicking from my head to my toes.

Having no time for the likes of her, I flash her our conversation. When she appears unconvinced I go-ahead to call Ike who picks up on the second ring.

"Hey babe," his voice speaks through the line. "Where are you?"

"I'm currently at the reception area of your hotel and the lady here refuses to let me through," I converse, making sure to peer at the receptionist.

"Are you sure?" He doubts, "at Place Of Comfort Hotel?"

"Yes, you can speak to her if you like," I tell, awaiting his reply.

"Pass her the phone then," he bids to which I comply.

"He wants to talk to you," I pronounce, handing her the device.

Eying it, she accepts it from my palm "who is this?"

"Chinonye it comes off like you are losing your manners, how dare you to keep my guest waiting," Ike chastises in a growl.

I hold in my laugh as the lady comes across as shocked, both from the fact I was right and that I can hear the conversation.

"Yes, I put it on loudspeaker bitch," I mouth it to her dumbstruck expression.

"I'm sorry about that sir, I'll send her up right now," she apologizes and gives me back the gadget. "Sorry for the inconvenience ma'am."

I don't reply, instead, I gesture for the key card in which she hurriedly places in my palm. I snort in retort and smirk at her as I grab it and saunter to the lift that takes me to the executive suite, there I swipe the card on the door and it makes a clicking sound before I push it open to sight Ike pouring wine into glasses.

He gives me one as I step in, his sharply chiseled features stealing my breath as always. I decline the offer, causing his black piercing eyes to gawk at me in inquiry and I shrug in reply to his silent question.

Positioning the tumbler on the small glass table beside him his plump pink lips curve in a sly smile that leaves me shivering in excitement and uncaged want.

The atmosphere becomes tense as I take a seat opposite him and cross my leg in an attempt to stop the quivering between my legs. I had no idea how much I have missed him until this moment.

Just gazing at that high cheekbones and thick brows can make a girl shed her panties the way I did. My dark blue eyes observe the way his barely curled dyed blonde hair contrasts well with his light brown complexion.

As he assesses me I notice him gulp and lower himself to the empty chair before me and lends a heated look in my path.

The sexual tension seems to have risen a notch, prompting me to clear my throat in a bid to tone it down a bit.

"I'm here to tell you something important," I say, my voice sounding foreign to my ears.

He nods and alights from the armchair to offer me a hand, the kaleidoscopic shirt he's putting on stretching on his sturdy chest as he does this. "I'm happy you came."

I take his hand and stand but I'm left stunned as he buries his slightly crooked nose in my neck, inhaling the feminine scent.

"God I've missed you," he murmurs, shifting the strap of my blouse to kiss my shoulder.

I'm mute as I revel in this feeling, the emotions and memories rushing back to me like a rollercoaster.

"Your smooth skin," he whispers in my ear. "Your breasts, that tiny waistline, and beautiful butt that fits my palms so perfectly."

I shove him when his hands go to squeeze my ass, my breathing rushed as I take a few steps back.

"What's wrong love?" He inquires, gaping at me.

"This is wrong Ike and you know it," I admonish, my body coming in contact with the wall behind me.

"Why does it feel so right then?" He questions and closes the distance I put between us in his black slacks. Trapping me, his mouth tilts in a smirk.

"Answer me, Ana," he commands when he gets no reaction from me, his hands skidding behind me to press my body to his. Watching me, his fingers slide under my top to lightly rake them on my bare back eliciting a moan from me which he cuts short by slamming his lips on mine in a fiery kiss.

My body has a mind of its own as I unknowingly wrap my arms around his neck drawing him down to my level. His hands grip my waist, the kiss growing intense, making me lose all my senses.

"I miss you," he lets out in a breathe triggering my anger as I remember what happened between us.

I struggle to push him away but he doesn't budge after several attempts. I inhale and say the only statement I know that can get through to him.

"I'm pregnant," I mumble, my lids closed as I announce this.

He recoils instantly, releasing me as I sense his intense gaze. "What?" He questions, unable to comprehend what I'm telling.

"I'm pregnant Ike," I repeat, my eyes flashing open as I await the outcome of my words while I spot emotions running through his black irises.
