Magical surprise filler chapter till we get to the GOOD STUFF! It's very short... Also, shoutout to http-Chels for giving me some great ideas for upcoming chapters. Sorry if you're not into classical music, but even if you're not, most people have heard Für Elise at least once in their lives.

Nath sat down at the piano for the first time in years, trying to rack his brain to remember how to play. Ever since (Y/n) had discovered that Nath used to play piano, she had been pestering him to play the one they have in the house. Finally, he had agreed to do so, but had told her, "It's been so long since I've played, so this probably won't be the best. But I'll give it a try."

Slowly, carefully, he ran his fingers across the keys, as if one wrong move would result in the instrument's destruction. He smiled at (Y/n) and, without looking at the keys, began to play. As he played the beginning of Für Elise, he remembered how he had played the piano for his parents without ever looking at the keys. His hands naturally knew which keys to press to result in beautiful music. His family had always been amazed by his aptitude for piano, but were ever more amazed when he gave it up. "It's gotten boring," he had said. And then (Y/n), his (Y/n), had asked him to play for her. He couldn't refuse.

She couldn't stop smiling as the music seemed to pour right from his soul. She had always loved Für Elise, but hearing it played by Nathanaël made her love it even more, if that was possible. As she watched him play, saw the oh-so-innocent grin on his face, she wondered how a boy like this could ever find it in his heart to kill someone. He looked so sweet, like a child. But she knew that he was no child, and neither was she. They had been through so much together, and now they were living together like adults.

When the song came to an end, he stood up and gave her a hug, and there were so many words silently said by this one action. He was saying that he loved her, that he lived for her, so many things. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then an action must be worth a million. He finally released her and he asked her if he had been okay.

Tears in her eyes, she said, "Nathanaël...it was beautiful. There's no way it's been seven years since you've played piano."

"It has been, believe it or not."

"That was amazing! I've never seen someone play without even looking at the keys...and you remembered the notes exactly."

"Well, yes. I had to memorize them to perform, and I guess they just stuck with me all these years," he explained with a childish grin. (Y/n) found it harder and harder not to cry, not to let her emotions consume her. That one smile was too much for her heart to handle. Nath noticed she was upset. "Are you alright? What's wrong, amour?"

She hugged him tightly, pressing her face against his chest and letting the tears fall. "Hold me," she commanded him before she crumbled apart. He did as told, holding her in his arms, letting her tears soak his shirt. He stroked her hair lovingly and she slowly calmed down. "I'm sorry," she whispered as he released her.

"Don't apologize. You could never do anything wrong. What's bothering you?"

"I just don't understand...how you seem so sweet and innocent right now, but you can kill people without feeling remorse. I love you regardless, I've just noticed that it's like...it's like there's two sides to you," she tried to explain.

"I understand," he told her calmly. "I know exactly what you're talking about. I feel like there's two sides of me sometimes, too."

     "It's so strange..."

He nodded. "I know. It's okay."

She smiled at him. "I know it's nothing you can control."

He looked at her, slightly shocked. She truly understands me.

The next morning, Nath surprised (Y/n) with an announcement. "(Y/n), we need to go back to Paris for a while..."

She was shocked. "Wh-what? We're not in Paris right now? Where are we?"

"Nowhere of consequence. I just need to get a few things. And you might want to do something with that kwami of yours."

"Oh crap! I forgot about Zirea!"

He smiled a tiny bit. "It's okay. I'm sure she's just fine. We will take care of her."

"Yeah, I just hope nobody took her...oh god, I just realized how weird this is going to be, with my parents dead and all..." she tried to stay strong, stay bold, but she couldn't quite keep an emotionless look when so many emotions were fighting to take over.

Nath shrugged. "I suppose it will be strange. Will you be okay going back?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine." She smiled a little.
