It's been several days since I was let out of the hospital. Liza comes up to check up on me as well as Marianne.

I haven't left the hotel room since I was brought here and just the sun blinded me.

"Ugh... too bright." I said to myself.

I thought about David... Melanie... the ring...

"Oh... hey." Hayes walks up to me seeing I was outside.

"Hey." I calmly said.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better..."

Before I know it: the paparazzi was swarming in.
"Come with me." Luca said holding out his hand.

I didn't even think twice taking it. I wasn't ready to handle the paparazzi... at least not yet anyways.

He took me back in the hotel and to my hotel room.

"So much for fresh air." I sarcastically said.

He chuckled.

"But... why did you help me back there?"

"You are my coworker after all."

I looked away from him.

"Is something the matter?"

"Oh it's just..." my voice trailed off. "While... you know: hibernating and taking medications for my head. I had to think a lot about everything." I said as I lay back on my bed.

"Everything? Care to explain?"

"Just..." I didn't know how to explain it.

He saw the ring that was on my nightstand.

"May I?" He politely asked me.

"Oh of course." I replied back politely.

He examined the ring David got for me.

"That is a big rock." He said while examining it.

"He used to love spoiling me." I said half dreamily.

He sets it down before now looking at me serious.

"Look... I'll be honest." He paused not knowing how to put the right words, "I'm not the right person for this but... I want to tell you stories about my past... relationships."

"Go ahead..." I said still laying back.

"I've had an ex that was like that: clingy. I love a clingy girl don't get me wrong. But... that was way out of line. But this is only question you should only ask yourself: am I sure?"

I mean: he isn't wrong but... through everything up to this David had been nothing but the best guy I had.

"Hayes..." I only said his name.

"Sorry-" he quickly apologized blushing.

God where is–

As soon I thought of her: Marianne comes in.

"Hey are you-"

She saw Hayes sitting next to me.

"Ahem." She cleared her throat.

"It was nice hanging out with you, Maeve."

I only half smiled in reply before Marianne examines me.

"What just happened?"

"I went outside to get fresh air and he so happened to be outside and we just talked..." I put it.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better but not ready to physically to act yet."

"No worries. Liza completely understands."
Marianne paused, "But... she wanted me to shoot the messenger."

"Go ahead."

"She didn't want to do this but she had to get someone else to take your role. She literally regrets this but she can't push the movie back further...." Marianne said in a sad voice.

I was half sad but also understanding. I mean I haven't even got to officially act and all chaos went loose here... I've only been here in New York to hit my head, abandon David and my friends...

"Are you okay?"

"No I'm fine I completely understand that she couldn't push the date any further."

That means having to go back without even trying to find my biological family.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes..."

Marianne finally leaves me while I stand by the window, just thinking about everything.

I looked back at the ring and grabbed it.

David... My mind said his name.

I think I finally made up my mind of what to do now.
