At the resiatence base.................

"What's the problem Ciel?"Zero asked as soon as he appeared into the room along with the others who were a bit whozzy from their short journey.

"The yellow chaos emerald is gone Ciel said sadly.

"What?!!"Sonic blurted in disbelief."How did that happen?"

"I don't know, it happened so fast, a big blue object took it, I didn't get the chance to make up what it was." She said trying to put the blame on herself but Zero patted her shoulder just to tell her it's not her fault so she shouldn't be hard on herself.

"Mecha Sonic."Sonic grumbled.

"Who is that?"Ciel asked.

"A robotic version of me made by an evil scientist to kill me."Sonic answered."  He's that blue robot we saw after the base was attacked.

"But Sonic destroyed him" Tails added." It's just that he's from a different time line."

"What is he capable of anyway that makes him sound dangerous?"Zero asked.

"He has enough power to destroy an entire island and doing that doesn't show the full extent of his power."Mario said.

"If it wasn't for Shadow's chaos control, we would've been goners" Luigi said.

"Who's  Shadow? " Zero asked with a curious look.

"Lets just say he's a bio engineered black and red  hedgehog who almost look like me, matches my speed and has a serious and strict ego."Sonic answered.

"Guys, now's not the time for chit-chat we need to start looking for the emeralds."Tails said.

"Alright Tails, where should we head to?"

Tails looked at the radar and made a confused face."That's weird...."

"Is something wrong,"Sonic asked his friend.

"There's multiple emerald energy signatures on the radar."Tails explained."Something must be interfering the radar signals." He examined the radar for a few seconds."Even though the readings are screwed,  I think I know where you guys should head off to at least find the emeralds . Ciel, would you mind if I use the mission control computer?"

"I don't mind " Ciel responded as Tails hopped onto a chair and started connecting the emerald radar to the computer to try and get an accurate location of the emeralds.
                           After a few minutes everything was set and the first emerald was located in a place called " Living city". The gang got ready and teleported there via the communicators' teleportation system in a flash.

After going through a long bright pathway as an effect of teleporting that made the gang a
Except Zero and Megaman dizzy they appeared at the city called living city. The sun was shining brightly on the tall buildings that occupied the city's skies. Mario, Sonic, Luigi and Megaman took a good look at their new modern environment. Suddenly a beeping sound came from Zero's helmet as he pushed a button on the side and his communicator activated and waited for Ciel to speak to him and the others.

"You guys there?"Ciel asked." Ok I just wanted to let you know about the security here, its been doubled."

"You mean there's more enemies here? "Zero asked.

Zero has been here before, the original one that is, during his past missions in saving area zero.

"What's this city called again?"Sonic asked in a 'what's -that again tone'.

"It's called living city."Zero replied.

"Living city?...........If it's called living city shouldn't it be y'know living?"He said looking at the empty streets.

"It used to be".Ciel said listening to what Sonic was saying."This place has been abandoned for the past few years and the security system here  has been hijacked by a virus. It was stopped by Zero though but it seems that it's back. Your mission is to defeat the boss in this area and stop the virus from spreading.

"I thought we came here for the emeralds?"Sonic stated tapping his foot.

"You'll find the emerald along the way. Good luck."

"Good luck?"said Sonic " We are gonna need more.....way more than that"......He stared in disbelief at the sky.

"Whats the matter.....cat got your tongue?"Said Zero.

"Oh he said panting " It's nothing.....just a sub atomic missle heading straight for....oh what do you know" he said looking sheepish" I-I-I.....it's heading our....FUCKING WAY!!"

*SCREECH*

Zero quickly whipped out his gun called the z-buster and fired, rapidly at the missle causing an explosion in mid-air.

"That was close " Said Mario.

"Too close if you ask me."Megaman said.

"Lets go, we have a mission to do."Said Zero.

So Sonic,Mario, Luigi, Megaman and Zero ventured deep into living city. After going through several obstacles and enemies they finally made it to the boss room. On their arrival, Sonic felt a hint of chaos energy, completely convincing him that a chaos emerald is around.
          They entered the room seeing a figure standing there probably waiting for them. It was the the reploid in charge of the hijacked  security system of living city, Popula cocapetri.
