AS THE SYMBOL APPEARS OVER NIGHT'S HEAD, MY WORLD COMES CRASHING DOWN AGAIN.

Chiron gulps and announces, 'All hail Night Langdon, daughter of Annabeth. Architect of Olympus and goddess of hubris.'

I fall to my knees and faint as all the campers kneel down in respect. Darkness covers me as I hide in my mind. I want to stay here, not go back there. To Night. To whose daughter she is.

Annabeth. Night Langdon. They're mother and daughter.

But I'm not the dad, I can't be. Annabeth would've told me if we were having a kid together.

Why didn't I see it sooner? I just assumed they were so alike since they were sisters. I didn't read into it... They're not sisters. Annabeth is her mom.

The girl I practically raised since she was just a little baby, the little girl who I care for as if she were my own daughter.

Annabeth. Annabeth. Annabeth.

Her symbol of power.

A coin. A silver coin. The Mark of Athena.

Annabeth. Night. Annabeth. Night. Annabeth.

I feel something cool splash over my face. Water. Right, I fainted. I open my eyes to see Will and Nico kneeling on either side of me.

'You ok, dude?' Will asks me as I groan and sit up.

'Physically, yes. Emotionally... No.'

Will grimaces and stands up as Nico offers me a hand. I take it and stand up.

'Uh, Percy... Did you hit your back hard?' Night asks me. I smile, albeit a little sadly.

'I'm fine, Night. Now, aren't you glad to know who your mom is?' I ask her as her eyebrows knit together.

'I... I'm sorry, Percy.' Night tells me as I shake my head and give her a hug.

'Don't be sorry, ok? You have an awesome mom, Annabeth is great.' I say but I want to take it back.

After everything, she didn't even have time to claim her kid beforehand or visit? Forget about the fact that Annabeth probably cheated on me, she still should've been nice to her own daughter. After all the gods we've seen who wouldn't pay attention to their demigod children... She's not paying any attention either? That's the reason the Titan War took place.

'Right, um... Is there a chance you're my dad?' She asks me as I sigh.

'Maybe, kid. Maybe.' I reply, ruffling her hair. She nods, giving me one last hug before running off with her friends.

'Percy-'

'I'm leaving.'

'What? Where?' Nico asks me as I walk over to the Big House. The two follow me and stop me from getting any further.

'Percy Jackson, tell us right now where you're thinking about going.' Will asks me, glaring.

'Calm down, I just want to pay my lovely girlfriend a little visit. Considering she had a kid, which I didn't know about and a kid who isn't mine... I think we need to talk.'

***

'NO, ANNABETH. YOU HAD A KID. YOU CHEATED ON ME.'

'It was a mistake, Percy.' Annabeth says through sobs.

'You hid her for such a long time, Annabeth. A child... YOU COULD'VE TALKED TO ME.' I say, shaking my head. 'We could've done something, Annabeth.'

'I know, Percy... I know. But I didn't want to face you, knowing that I...' She trails off as I pull at my hair.

'Then why did you do it in the first place? WHY DO IT? YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO TELL ME SOMETIME.'

'Percy, I-'

'No, Annabeth... I don't want to hear it. I-I can't talk to you right now... Let's talk later, ok?' I tell her softly as she nods. I sigh and leave the room, when did my life become so messed up?

Oh yeah, since the fucking moment I landed into this world of Greek gods and monsters. After everything, this happens? Really, Aphrodite? The one thing I thought would last, the one thing I thought would be permanent?
