Author's Note and a groveling apology for disappearing into the dust of the universe-

Hey there, amazing readers!

I owe you all a big apology for taking so long to finish this book. I have to be honest with you—I've been stuck with a serious case of writer's block when it comes to figuring out what happens next in the story of Arjun and Draupadi. But guess what? I've finally managed to break through that wall and I'm feeling inspired to write again!

Here's the thing, though: since I've been away from the story for a while, I've kinda lost touch with what's happening right now and where I want the book to go. So, I've made a decision. Instead of just waiting and putting off writing until I catch up, I'm going to skip ahead a bit and start from a point where I feel confident and excited about the story.

Now, for all you new readers out there, I want to make sure you feel included and don't miss a beat. You don't have to read the previous eight chapters! Yup, you heard it right. I've got you covered. Below, I've included a short summary of what has happened so far, and I'm starting the story from chapter one again. That way, you can dive right into the plot without any confusion or missing out on the fun. I want your reading experience to be intact and enjoyable, not a huge breakdown with a gap in the story. So, sit back, relax, and let's embark on this exciting journey together!

I really hope you all understand and support me in this. It wasn't an easy choice to make, but I truly believe it's the best way for me to get back on track and give you a book that you'll enjoy. Your understanding and encouragement mean the world to me, and I can't thank you enough for sticking by me.

So, without further ado, here it is—the new chapter! I've poured my heart and soul into it, and I hope you can feel the passion and energy that went into writing it.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and support. You guys are amazing!

With gratitude,

Kruti

Summarizing chapter One to Eight: [Time Skip info at the bottom of the page]

Chapter One:
Gandhari, overwhelmed with guilt after cursing Krishna and blaming Arjun for the destruction of the Kurus, confronted him along with the Pandavas. Arjun's brothers stood by his side, defending him and asserting that it was the result of their own karma. Despite their explanations, Gandhari accused Arjun of being responsible for their miseries. In her anger, she cursed Arjun to witness the deaths of his loved ones without being able to join them. Arjun accepted the curse, showing his devotion to his mother, while Draupadi, his wife, pledged to be with him until his last breath. However, through the intervention of the Fire God and Krishna, Draupadi's wish was modified, allowing her to be with Arjun for two hundred years in each of her future lives. Realizing the magnitude of her actions, Gandhari fell unconscious in shock.

Chapter Two:
In the kingdom of Panchal, King Swarnsheel ruled with a commitment to Dharma. His first wife Chandrabhaga had a son and was expecting another child. However, his other two wives, Maheshwari and Kumudini, were envious and cursed Chandrabhaga, causing her death during childbirth. The king imprisoned the wicked wives and was left to raise his newborn daughter alone. Concerned about finding a suitable mother figure for his daughter, the king's minister, Dushyant, offered his own daughter, Pritha, who was infertile and pure-hearted. Swarnsheel agreed, and Pritha accepted the responsibility. Despite her mistreatment by her own mother and servants, Pritha found solace in her financial independence. Her father, happy for her opportunity to raise the princess, assured her of a better life in the palace, free from past worries.

Chapter Three:
Pritha, welcomed respectfully by King Swarnsheel, met the newborn princess in a luxuriously decorated room. Pritha noticed the baby's striking lotus-shaped eyes and suggested the name Kamalnayani, meaning "one whose eyes are like lotus." Swarnsheel, touched by Pritha's connection with the baby, requested her to name his daughter, explaining the tradition and his trust in her. Overwhelmed, Pritha agreed.
In a forest outside Vidarbh, two sages discussed the birth of King Swarnsheel's daughter, praising her beauty and divine signs. Their conversation was interrupted by Naagdatt, the military chief of Kekeya, covered in bloodied armor. Naagdatt threatened the sages, but they remained calm and confident in their protector, Vaidarbhi Natha. The sages refused to reveal the identity of the person with divine signs, leaving Naagdatt enraged and determined to find them.

Chapter Four:
Pritha bathed and dressed the newborn child, whom everyone had taken a liking to and unofficially named Kamalnayani. Pritha prayed for the baby's well-being and protection from evil. Meanwhile, the sages Mridul and Mukul also sought divine protection for the child's hidden signs from Naagdatt.During a naming ceremony in a decorated hall, Pritha followed the priest's instructions and whispered the name Nitiksha to the baby. Nitiksha smiled, indicating her approval. Pritha announced the name aloud, and everyone congratulated King Swarnsheel and blessed Princess Nitiksha. Pritha devoted herself to Nitiksha, showering her with love and care.Pritha balanced her affection with discipline, teaching Nitiksha valuable lessons. Nitiksha's crawling and first word, "Itha," brought joy to Pritha, who cherished each moment with her. Pritha expressed her love and concern for Nitiksha's well-being, putting a black kohl dot to protect her from evil eyes. Nitiksha repeated her name, "Itha," repeatedly, and Pritha listened with unwavering enthusiasm.

Chapter Five:
Nitiksha encounters a girl named Parnika, who turns out to be the Princess of Kekeya. Parnika insists on staying with Nitiksha, leading to a heartfelt reunion between their fathers. Parnika is overprotective of Nitiksha, even discouraging her from touching thorny flowers. Pritha, Nitiksha's caretaker, explains the importance of going through a little pain for things that are worthwhile. Meanwhile, two sages discuss Naagdutt's futile search for Draupadi, who is protected by her past life's memories and Arjuna's presence. The sages make a bet on the outcome.

Chapter Six:
Parnika and Nitiksha's friendship grows stronger as they become inseparable. Their fathers agree to let them start their education together at a gurukul. Pritha, Nitiksha's caretaker, encourages her daughter to embrace independence, despite her own sadness. At the gurukul, the girls meet their teachers and learn about the significance of praying to Lord Ganesh. They recite a hymn and feel a sense of peace. Unable to sleep, Nitiksha and Parnika share their excitement about their new learning journey and settle down to sleep together.

Chapter Seven:
Parnika and Nitiksha peacefully sleep through the night, but elsewhere, someone is restless. Arjun, who has lived for centuries, reflects on his long life and the beauty he has witnessed. He contemplates a golden ornament, once worn by the Empress of Aryavart, and wonders why it has returned to him. Arjun has always protected Draupadi, Nitiksha's mother, and feels a sense of guilt for her reincarnation in a world of sin. His best friend, Ashwatthama, approaches him, and they engage in playful banter. Both Arjun and Ashwatthama have distanced themselves from the world and hidden their true identities. As the end of Arjun's mortal life approaches, he expresses concern for Ashwatthama's naivety and urges him to grow up. Ashwatthama assures him that he is not easily deceived and plans to seek guidance from his father's guru once Arjun and Draupadi leave.

Chapter Eight:
Parnika and Nitiksha excel in their studies and are eager to learn about the Mahabharata, a text said to contain all the knowledge of the world. Mridul introduces the significance of the Mahabharata, emphasizing its value as a legacy passed down through generations. Nitiksha is captivated by Mridul's words and feels a personal connection to the story. Mridul explains the importance of offering prayers before beginning the Mahabharata and introduces Bhagwan Nar as the central figure in the epic. Nitiksha expresses curiosity about Bhagwan Nar, and Mridul promises to provide more information later. The day passes with background information, and Nitiksha diligently practices reciting the first shloka of the Mahabharata. Parnika reassures Nitiksha that genuine effort matters more than perfect pronunciation, boosting her confidence.
