Kylo Ren removed his helmet and placed it safely in a storage cupboard on the ship. His gloved fingers smoothed over the mask, feeling every groove of its perfection. Wearing such a mask prevented people from knowing who he was and using it against him. His parents, one of them at least, was the leader of the very Resistance that opposed what he stood for. The other served the Rebels before, and though he was nothing more than a criminal to Kylo Ren, he would stand against him if it came down to it. Every person he was related to stood against him, and Kylo Ren resented them for not seeing his vision.

But here on Canto Bight, there was no need to hide who he was. The name Ben meant nothing, the face of Ben Solo meant nothing. With a subtle eagerness to his walk, he made his way to the familiarity of the casino; in the back of his mind he could practically hear General Hux shouting at him for constantly disappearing in the rise of the First Order, but General Hux didn't understand what was at stake. Kylo Ren knew that today, he would find out Calista's answer.

As he reached the casino, he scanned for her. The telltale signs was her height above many of the others, her stunning blonde hair, typically her white dress that hung softly over her curves, though this time he was hoping to see red or black. But after a short duration of searching, Kylo Ren found the place devoid of her. Normally he could sense her presence, but this time she was nowhere to be found. His eyes narrowed as he realized she could be with another client, his hands balled into fists at the thought. Not of jealousy, but because it was what she had to do to put food on her plate.

He wanted to give her everything, so that she never had to do that again.

From the opposite side of the room, a man began to approach Kylo Ren, and navigated fluidly through the busy, drunken crowd. Standing before him, they were almost eye to eye, and Kylo Ren knew this man was Naren.

Naren clasped his hands together in front of him, "Kylo Ren, your presence is most welcome here."

"Where is she?" He asked firmly, his voice and posture stoic.

"Calista has informed me that she no longer wishes to attend to your needs. She ahs found you overbearing and it is impeding on her work. Many of her clients have complained that you have gotten in their way; just because you are rich, does not mean you can buy her forever. She's a whore, Kylo Ren, not a concubine," Naren stated.

Kylo Ren fought against the urge to kill Naren in one swift blow, composing himself and even allowing the hint of a smile crack onto his stony appearance. He made a soft noise, sort of a sigh combined with a chuckle. "Naren, right?"

"Yes, sir." Naren lifted his head higher, proud of who he was.

"You're lying," Kylo Ren stated. "I do not wish to make a scene, but if you do not reveal where you have hidden her, I will kill you, and I will still find her."

"She does not wish to see you, all of your men are the same, thinking you can own someone like that. It's disgusting, and I will always protect my Creatures," Naren argued, raising his voice and turning a few heads. People were staring, and Kylo Ren could not have them discovering who he was. A leader of the First Order, desperate to win over a woman of the night. It was embarrassing.

"She's close," Kylo Ren said as he focused on her, trying to find her in the labyrinth of riches. "If I discover you have laid a hand on her, I will kill you."

"I would never!" Naren shouted. "You are making a scene, you should leave before people discover just how desperate Kyl-"

Kylo Ren reached out his hand and without touching Naren, began choking the life out of him. It didn't matter now if people figured out who he was, he realized, because he was beginning to worry about Calista's life. Her life was more important than the secrecy of who he was in that moment. Though he could pay for it later, he would deal with it as it happened.

Right now, Calista was his main concern.

"If I hear from her that she wishes never to see me again, I will grant her that," Kylo Ren told Naren, then dropped him. The man tumbled to the ground, reaching to his throat and gasping for air.

Kylo Ren left Naren on the floor and followed his gut. He could feel himself nearing Calista, but he could not begin to think where she would be. All he knew was that she wasn't in the Casino, and she wasn't at her home. He could feel her close, but not close enough. Instinct and the Force propelled him forward, even when he felt Naren coming after him, he continued his swift descent to the underbelly of the Casino, creeping further into the darkness of Canto Bight.

His hand dragged along the rocky wall that led down to the prison cells. His eyes darted along before his feet, and that's when he spotted the body of a young woman; her eyes staring through him and almost making him feel sick. The way she looked at him was an accusatory one, but he was not the reason she was dead. Walking past her, Kylo Ren called out, "Calista?"

Behind him, Naren stumbled down the stairs in attempt to stop him from finding Calista. But he was too late, the cell Kylo Ren stood before housed Calista, who was seated on the floor, with her back against the wall. She didn't call back when Kylo Ren said her name; from the looks of it she was completely unaware that there was anyone around, her eyes focused on her shaking and bloody hands- it wasn't her blood.

Kylo Ren used the Force to open the cell doors and took a tentative step inside. Still she did not see him.

"Calista," he said gently as he reached his hand down.

She finally looked at him, a deadness in her normally bright eyes. "Ben?"

He saw the blood on her hands, he could smell it. The day-old cut on her cheek was red, not healing well. Her eyes were wide with fear, and something else; the look of someone who had seen another die. He was sure he once wore that look, but no longer, for it could not faze him to see death. Finally, Calista took his hand and rose to shaking feet, warily looking at Ben as though he wasn't really there, that this was some dream.

With one hand on her shoulder, the other tilted her chin up and when he looked into her eyes he felt enraged. Releasing her, he turned and left the cell briskly. Underneath the layers of his garb was his lightsaber, he wasn't sure what possessed him to bring it with him when usually he left it behind so that Calista wouldn't find out who he was -or anyone else. But he did not grab it yet, it would be too swift for Naren and the crimes he committed.

Kylo Ren simply began to choke the life out of Naren, who was mid-step when the torture began. The man reached to his throat, not even gagging or gasping, there was no room for any air to get through. His feet were lifted from the floor, Kylo Ren let his rage consume him. As he choked Naren, he realized how much more satisfying it would be to use his hands, and he dropped him for the second time that evening. Naren was on his hands and knees, and Kylo Ren grabbed his chin, shoving him so that he was on his back. Kylo Ren knelt down and began to slam his fist repeatedly into Naren's face, hearing the crunch of cartilage in his nose, even a molar detached.

"Stop," Calista said.

Kylo Ren stopped after one more punch slipped in, and he glanced at her. He said, "No."

The punching resumed, Naren was barely even groaning now, blood everywhere.

"Stop! Ben, Stop!" Calista yelled, stepping towards him and grabbing his shoulder.

"Why?! After what he did to you?!" Kylo Ren shouted at her.

"Because he's my brother," Calista admitted, a look of shame crossing her features.
