Vrrooooommmm!!! Brad's head slammed back against the seat and at the same time, he felt his stomach lurch up into his chest as the Porche came to life, going from zero to 150 in a little over 3 seconds. It flew out of the showroom, smashing through the unbroken part of the big window. Brad saw that they were headed straight for a black SUV that they were approaching at alarming speed. he closed his eyes and braced for impact. There was no way that they would survive a crash at this speed in this little car. But the Porche did not crash into the SUV. Brad felt his body jerk to the right and squeeze against the passenger side door, then lunge back again. He opened his eyes and saw cars and trucks whizzing by in a blur as his body was tossed back and forth, left and right against his seat belt. All the while, he could hear Dominic screaming with excitement at the top of his lungs.

When he realized the he was not going to die, Brad imagined himself on the craziest roller coaster ride ever. He didn't want Dominic to think he was was a wimp so he let out a yell, "whoo hooo! Yeah!!!" After a while he was actually starting to enjoy the insane joy ride, but he was relieved when Dominic finally stopped. "Was that cool or what?" Dominic asked. "Heck yeah!" Brad responded.

Brad did not want Dominic to know that he had actually wet his pants a little bit. he was hoping he could find a store that sold kid's clothes so he could change his underwear. "We'll have to gather up some supplies for our trip down south." Brad suggested. "And maybe we should keep an eye out for some kid running around with no shoes."

"What kid?" Dominick asked. Brad told Dominic about the kid he saw run away when he saw the cars and about the bloody footprints. "I don't think he wants to have anything to do with other people. Maybe we should just leave him alone." "What did he look like?" Dominic asked. "Uh... I think he had short blonde hair." Brad said. "Anything else?" Dominic asked, suddenly interested. "Not that I can remember." Said Brad. "We gotta go look for this kid." Dominic said. "Let's go."

"I think he wants to be left alone, he keeps running away." Brad protested. "Maybe we should just go without him." "We can't leave him because that might be my son." Dominic lied. "What!? Why does your son keep running away." Brad asked. Dominic hesitated for a few seconds, then replied, "Because he's autistic."

Brad had a friend who was autistic, he was pretty much like other kids except he got very anxious around people he didn't know. "Oh," Brad said. "That explains why he kept running away from me. I bet he'll be glad to see you when we find him. What's his name anyway?"

"His name is, uh, Adam." Dominic answered. "I thought he was gone along with everyone else, but now I am so relieved that you found him! It's him I know it's him, I can feel it. Will you help me find him?" A tear rolled down his eye.

Brad was really touched by this and his own eyes watered up as he started thinking about his own family. "Of course I'll help you find him." Brad responded. "Let's go!"
