—8 years later—

Dear Julian,

I've always regretted the fact that I was never present in my daughter's life. Due to my line of work, I'd be somewhere far from my family. Now that I can finally be with her, you appear in the picture.

I heard stories about you, and when I finally got to meet you that day you guys were working on some group project for the bazaar, I had this weird feeling after meeting you. I knew it wasn't a bad one, and it was confirmed when I saw you going after Alorah. I never told her about this, but I was there when it happened. I knew she wasn't acting like herself when she left the room.

Honestly, I was jealous that my time with my daughter would be cut short, but if I could see her smiling brightly again, I'd be willing to give up my time with her.

I hope that when you guys have a family, you two will do your best to overcome any obstacles that may ruin what you guys have and continue to be each other's happiness.

In the eight years you've been together, you've shown me what kind of partner you are to my daughter. Despite how hard-headed and difficult she has become, you didn't let go of her hand and disappear from her life. You treated her with respect and care. You have been honest with her, which I know she appreciated.

Julian, by the time you have read this letter, you will officially be a part of the family. Once I see you take my daughter's hand from her father, slowly let her arms lock with yours, and stand in front of the altar, it will be the happiest day of my life.

Consider this letter a wedding gift from me, and I wish you guys all the luck and love I can give.

Thank you for making my daughter smile. Thank you for being a part of our life.

I love you both so much, and I wish you both a happy marriage, my son.

From your mom,

Mila Reagen
