Serena and Misty stood still, staring at each other. They both knew their prides were at stake at the outcome of this battle. Clemont had asked them to release their Pokémon for the battle as he finished saying the regulations of this 1v1 battle.
'Delphox, your up!' Serena shouted and released the fire starter of Kalos. Misty smiled at her decision and grabbed her PokéBall.
'Gyrados, make it rain!' Misty twirled around on the spot and threw her PokéBall in the air. Gyrados came out and roared making the cold winds fly around rapidly. Cold chills went down the group, because of the impact of the roar.
Clemont looked at both girls and raised his hand, 'battle begin!'

'Delphox use flamethrower' Serena commanded. The fox Pokémon released the energy of fire that was subsided in her mouth. The fire wrapped around the Gyrados' big body. Gyrados took the hit but was standing it's ground, determined to pass through.
'Use hydro pump to get rid of the fire' Misty shouted. Gyrados released water from it's mouth and sprayed it all around. The fire evaporated revealing Gyrados who looked unscathed and unnerved by the attack.
'Ash wasn't kidding about this, she is definitely tough,' Serena tried to think of processes to catch the Gyrados off guard. 'Use flamethrower again' Serena commanded. The starter obeyed and once again released the fire power towards the Gyrados.

'What is she up to?' May said confused by Serena's tactics. Ash just stood there with a smile. 'This could work but it will do some damage but not a lot.' Ash said. The group looked at him and then back to the battle scene to see her plan.

'Gyrados use hydro pump and stop it!' Misty said. Gyrados roared and sent the water from it's mouth towards the oncoming flamethrower. There was an explosion causing the snow to fly around. Misty couldn't see what's ahead but was soon baffled by the next move.
As soon as the dust settled, a shadow ball came hurtling to Gyrados who stood rooted to the spot. 'Dodge it!' Misty said but it was too late and Gyrados took the hit dead on. It was a critical hit as multiple scratches showed up on it's body as well as the heavy breathing.
'I'll give you that one Sere, that was clever but now we will show our power,!' Misty said acknowledging the move, 'Use dragon rage!' Misty shouted and the Gyrados roared louder than before and sent the dragon rage to the Delphox.
'Use flamethrower!' Serena shouted. The flamethrower successfully stopped the dragon rage but were hit by an unexpected attack, 'Hydro pump' Misty shouted. Gyrados released the jet of water from it's mouth towards the fire type. 'Delphox dodge!' Serena shouted desperately. Delphox jumped but was clipped by a bit of water which tripped her up and grazed onto the ground.
'Delphox are you okay?' Serena said with worry in her eyes. Delphox gave a low growl, suggesting she was okay to continue despite the bent stature. 'Use flamethrower!' Serena shouted.
'Hydro pump!' Misty exclaimed. The two moves hurtled towards each other with great speed and collided in the middle. A huge explosion was sent through the battlefield causing more snow to fly around.
'Dragon rage' Misty said, showing the better reflexes Gyrados' move was successful and hit Delphox dead on. She took a good amount of damage and went flying back. She lay weak on the ground but was still conscious. 'Gyrados finish it with Hydro pump!' Misty shouted.

'Shadow ball, Delphox' Serena tried her last attempts to deflect the hydro pump. The two moves met but the hydro pump proved to be stronger and burst through the shadow ball and onto the weakened Delphox. The fire Pokémon howled and flew backwards and hit it's back against a tree and lay down unconscious. To add insult to injury a pile of snow landed on-top of it as it hit the tree.

'Delphox is unable to battle, Gyrados wins! This means Misty is the winner' Clemont announced.

There were cheers of appreciation for Misty but a lot of sympathy for Serena's efforts in the battle. The two trainers made their way to the centre circle.

'Well, Serena that was a great battle' Misty said putting her hand out. Serena shook her hand and said, 'well I was a fan of showcases and not much of battling but eh that's destiny I guess' Serena said. Misty smiled and both girls made their way back to the group.

'Serena you were great out there but you did have a type disadvantage so it's understandable that you lost' Ash said putting his arm around her. 'Thanks Ash, now it's your turn to kick some butts' Serena said smiling and gave him a peck on the lips.
'Mommy you were so cool! I want to be like you when I'm older' Kaylin said with sparkles in her eyes. 'Then don't stop dreaming and never give up, kay?' Serena said ruffling through the little girls hair. Kaylin nodded and held Serena's hand.

'Okay no it's our turn' Gary said with balled up fists. 'Yes I can't wait to kick some but!' Calem said full of excitement and adrenaline. 'Okay so how will we decide the battles?' Brock asked. Everyone thought in silence trying to conjure up any ideas in their poké brains.
'Ash give me your hat and Clemont give me some paper' Misty said urgently. Ash complained at first but Misty gave him an evil look which sent a shiver slithering in his body. 'What is your idea' Trevor asked. 'It's a draw for who will be battling who' Misty said as she finished writing on a piece of paper. 'Oh like a lucky draw' Ash said, Misty nodded and started shaking the hat.
She started pulling out the names until they had the confirmation of the first fixtures:

Ash Vs Drew
Gary Vs Cilan
Calem Vs Clemont
Alain Vs Trevor
Sawyer Vs Tierno
Paul Vs Brock

Gary started complaining about the fact he was up against a gym leader and that it was unfair, however Ash smacked him on the head which shut him up until his battle.

'I'll referee, so the first match will be Alain Vs Trevor' Misty said. Alain and Trevor shook hands before entering the battlefields for themselves.
Both of them released Charizards as their opening Pokémon. Trevor instantly mega evolved into Mege Charizard.
The battle started of tense. Trevor seemed to be on the front foot for about 2 minutes before Alain mega evolved his Charizard to even out the playing field.
From then on Alain bossed the whole battle by scraping a victory over Trevor's Charizard. Alain returned his Charizard and sent out his metagross who one shot Trevor's florges.

'Florges is unable to battle, Metagross win! This means Alain wins!' Misty announced. Alain didn't celebrate and went over to sympathise Trevor before the duo returned back to the group.

'Well who's next' Gary said getting impatient. 'Ash Vs Drew' Misty said looking the two lover boys. 'Oh come on why not me!' Gary said in disbelief but Misty punched him in the face, 'if you like the punches, keep criticising. My fist is ready' Misty hissed at Gary who slowly backed away in fear.

'Good luck Ash' Serena said as she gave him another peck on the lips. May done the same with Drew on the other side. The duo then walked out on the snowy field in battle stance.
'Ketchum, this battle decides who is the better boyfriend' Drew shouted across the battlefield. Ash grew a smirk on his face which irritated Drew. 'Bring it Drew "La Douche"' Ash said intimidating Drew. It worked as Drew had his rage face on show and his fists clenched tightly. 'I'll get you Ketchum!' Drew said.

'Release your Pokémon for God sake' Misty said annoyed.

'Roselia, show him what you have' Roselia growled at Ash, making him call his Pokémon.
     'Pikachu I choose you' Ash pointed forward with his hand and Pikachu jumped over him and landed smoothly in front. 'Pika!' Pikachu had sparks coming out of the adorable cheeks. Determined face and in battle stance. Pikachu was ready.

'Battle begin' Misty said raising her hand.

'Pikachu use quick attack' Ash said. Pikachu had a white outline around his body as his speed increased. Pikachu dashed at Roselia with the high speed.
       'Dodge and use razor leaf' Drew said. Roselia jumped over Pikachu and sent leafs flying towards the electric mouse. 'Pikachu use thunderbolt!' Pikachu sent the thunderbolt at the flying leafs and knocked them straight down. 'Iron tail' Pikachu's tail grew solid and into iron. It jumped up and done a few swings before striking the Roselia in the chest. It went flying into the ground.

'You won't win that easy! Use magical leaf' Drew said getting angry. Roselia sent leaves again but darkened ones towards Pikachu. 'Pika!' Pikachu cried in pain as it received the attack. It got up back to its feet, shaking of the damage. 'Use leach seed' Drew said.  'Dodge it!' Ash shouted. Pikachu jumped up but the tiniest of vines caught him and wrapped him up.

Power was being drained out of Pikachu. 'Use razor leaf' Drew commanded. The leafs hit Pikachu dead on all over the body but it still hung onto its courage.
      'How do I destroy those vines,' Ash thought hard and then it clicked, 'Pikachu use electro ball on your self' Pikachu's tail managed to escape the vines grasp and a huge electric ball started to form. It released the ball and it hit the vines causing and explosion. Snow flew everywhere for like the hundredth time.

Once it settled, for the hundredth time, Pikachu stood on it's feet, released from the vines grasp. 'What!? No way' Drew said flabbergasted. 'Pikachu electro ball!' Ash shouted. Pikachu once again formed an electric ball and sent it to Roselia who took the hit. It went flying back towards Drew, severely injured. 'Come on get up!' Drew shouted. Roselia struggled.

'Pikachu finish it with thunderbolt!' Ash said. Pikachu jumped up in the air to get a better angle, 'Pika-Chuuuu!' It released a powerful thunderbolt which Roselia engulfed and shrieked in pain at the force and power of the thunderbolt. It flew past Drew and into another tree and slid down to the ground unconscious.

Pikachu jumped back onto Ash's shoulder looking proud and still determined to battle.

'Roselia is unable to battle, Pikachu wins!' Misty announced as there were a few cheers from the onlooking crowd.
     'Pikachu are you ready to continue?' Ash said looking at his faithful companion. 'Pika!' Pikachu said with excitement and it's fist in front of his face showing the determination. Ash nodded and Pikachu jumped back onto the battlefield with sparks flying.

'I've lost anyway, Swellow I choose you' Drew said sounding beaten already. 'Pikachu use thunderbolt!' Pikachu jumped up again and sent the thunder attack towards the flying type. 'Use brave bird and dodge' Swellow successfully dodged the attack, increasing Drew's hope. 'Maybe I can win!' Drew said in his mind but he snapped out of it and saw his swellow fall to the ground unconscious. 'Oh fuck' Drew said in his mind and just stood there.

'Swellow is unable to battle, Pikachu wins! This mean Ash is the winner!' Misty announced. More cheers came from the group as they congratulated Ash.

'Hey look, you'll get stronger so don't take this loss to heavy, okay?' Ash said patting Drew's back. 'Yeah, I'll get stronger than this. I promise' Drew said. The duo shook hands firmly and rejoined the group who cheered them both for their efforts in the battles except the last one.

It was time for the quarter final draw for the boy's tournament. Misty finished picking out the names and these were the fixtures.

Ash Vs Gary
Alain Vs Calem
Tierno Vs Sawyer------> (they got to the quarter finals because of the insufficient amount of participants. Just roll with it, thanks!)
Brock Vs Paul------^^^^^^^^^^^^

'Woah, some good battles coming up' Clemont said, especially looking at Ash Vs Gary. Everyone were looking at Ash and Gary who just had smiles perched up on their faces, as if they knew this was going to happen.
        'Well you finally get to battle me' Ash said looking at Gary who was smiling. 'I've been waiting for this moment for a long time' Gary said putting his fist in front of his face, revealing his true determination. 'Give me your best shot' Ash said patting him on the back.

Serena then walked up to Ash. 'Yes Serena?' Ash asked, Serena then gave him a peck on the lips. 'It seems to work' Serena said. Ash smiled and walked onto the battlefield followed by Gary.

'This will be a 2v2 battle and the same rules apply as before. Any objections' Misty Bellowed out. The two trainers shook their head.
      'Good! Now release your Pokémon!' Misty shouted.

'Charizard I choose you!' Ash shouted. Charizard came out of the PokéBall and roared a mighty roar, shaking the snow of the trees.
       'Blastoise, let's go!" Gary shouted as his Blastoise came out of his PokéBall. The two Pokémon looked at each other in hatred. Both giving low growls.
        'Battle Begin!' Misty shouted as she raised her hand to indicate the start of the battle.

'Charizard use Flamethrower!' Ash commanded. Charizard roared and released fire from its mouth. It was faster than any usual flamethrower.
       'Blastoise, Hydro pump!' Gary shouted. Blastoise released jets of water from the two guns perched up on its shoulder. It evaporated the fire.

'Seismic toss' Ash shouted. Charizard swooped in low and grabbed Blastoise. Charizard flew high up into the cloudy sky and roared. It started spinning rapidly as it descended to the ground. It let go of Blastoise last minute and swooped up avoiding any recoil. Blastoise smashed into the ground.

'Blastoise can you continue?' Gary shouted. Blastoise struggled to its feet looking dazed. It then shook it's head, shaking of the pain.

'Charizard Dragon Claw!' Ash said his next move. Charizard swooped low, as its claws grew bigger and sharper. 'Blastoise rapid spin on the spot' Gary shouted. Blastoise went inside its shell and started spinning rapidly. Charizard swung both claws but they were both deflected. 'Now!' Gary shouted. Blastoise continued spinning and spun forwards sending Charizard into the side of the mountain.

'Charizard flamethrower!' Ash commanded. 'Blastoise hydro pump' the two moves collided making another explosion. 'Seismic toss' Ash shouted to Charizard. 'Deflect it with rapid spin' Blastoise started spinning vigorously.

Before Charizard could make contact, Blastoise hit Charizard and sent him flying into the mountain again. 'Finish it with Hydro Pump' Gary shouted at the top of his voice. Blastoise released the canon of water towards the helpless Charizard. Charizard just watched it get closer before being sent back into the wall. It fell on its belly unconscious.

'Charizard is unable to battle, Blastoise wins' Misty said. She sounded annoyed that Gary was winning.

'Wow, Gary is strong, I really did underestimate him,' Ash said looking at his opponent, 'if he's going all out, I'll go all out, Greninja I choose you!'

More battles!!  Sorry I didn't finish it, I felt like keeping another sort of cliff hanger. Next time will definitely be the finale of the tournament and their training so yeah.
